Beyond the Surface

I'm attracted to uniqueness. Whether as a friend or more, I find myself drawn to people who in one way or another are completely unlike me. Even here on Lit as I think about my short "Buddy List" they are each opposites of me in many ways.

I'm shy and unsure so I'm drawn to outgoing and confident.
I'm naïve and sheltered so I'm drawn to worldly and experienced.
I'm (sometimes) closed off so I'm drawn to openness and warmth.

We all go through that stage in life where we want perfection. The person who likes all the things you like and agrees with every notion you have. While on some level that may make life easier, I find it to be terribly dull.

I don't want someone to tell me what I want to hear. I don't want someone to regurgitate to me a list of things I like. I don't want a cookie cutter. I enjoy people who push me to think differently, to react differently. I enjoy people who test me and teach me.

This resonates with me and makes a lot of sense. We talk at work about diversity within teams (not just gender or race) so that you get those different perspectives and challenges from each other to achieve greater things. I think the same kind of thing should equally apply amongst our friends and loved ones, in terms of being different in our own ways, but common in our values. My 2c anyways!

We are doing scenario planning at work with much the same idea...a variety of perspectives to get the best outcome.

I feel pretty fucking special. My daughter graduated 5th grade and her friends are all in the back of my truck watching the movie at out local drive in cause I brought pillows, sleeping bags, chairs and snacks. Their parents should be smarter.

I’ve never been to a drive-in, but I seriously fear that I’m missing out.... blanket, pillows, movie and stars... that’s hard to beat :)

First of all... I want to share in this Sunday ritual! A day of rest and deep penetration ;)

I actually did think the shirt was cute and it made me laugh :) The capitalization is more of a tip to some of the sillier Lit men that cheesy humor needs a charming cover to work....or hockey innuendo - that always gets me :)

I don’t know that Sunday is a whole day of rest, but they should certainly begin a little lazy (and slow, least to start ;)) - and then be active / outdoorsy later in the day.

Always good to have things that make us laugh and smile. Just can’t quite believe some (perhaps a decent proportion;)) of us guys need things spelled out like that :D

And yes...some guys need the writing on the walls to be written in thick Sharpie :p I mean, none of the visitors to my thread of course :kiss:
