Can there please be a space on Lit for non nude, non explicit, non famous/real people, imagery here on Lit? The ai genie isn't going back in the bottle, so it is futile trying to shun it. With the restrictions that I've mentioned, lets have ai images allowed on here...come on, whad'ya say?

Perhaps if you get a bunch of folk clamoring here, you can petition Laurel and Manu to start something.

HOWEVER, it took me YEARS of advocating to them to get THIS (Visual Artists Corner).

I think the experiment has run its course. Highly unlikely they would want to host images here.

You can make a thread with LINKS to A.I. imagery right now.
Hell, there are LINKS to all sorts of photo and photoshopped and A.I. porn all over the bulletin boards. Many times of stuff that is against LIT rules, but they are not policed.

LIT has taken the stance that the site is focussed on the WRITTEN form of erotica.
This isn't a host site for landscapes, auto enthusiasts, or sci-fi pictures or...

It's funny how attitudes and goalposts move. I remember when digital art and digital photography was supposedly the deathnell of traditional art and photography but now it is fully embraced and normalised.

All of those developments (ahahhaahhaaaa) have had some negative (heeheee) impact on hand-on, tactile art.
Photography was used as an aid to drawing/painting helping with perspective and design, but could also be used as a crutch.
Digital photography took artists out of the dark rooms, which distanced them from a more intimate knowledge of light, value etc.
Digital art removes the artist from the tactile nature of painting... the smell (sometimes toxic!), the feel, the push and pull of paint.

Those tools make it easier to create imagery, which can be goodish and bad. Being "normalized" is not always a good thing.
The current potato in chief has "normalized" ignorance, vitriol, bigotry, misogyny etc...

... murder in the street of US citizens by federal agencies, abandonment of loyal allied countries, selling out to murderous dictators, unnecessarily hiking the living costs of ordinary citizens while lowering taxes for the richest 5%, supporting Israeli genocide of Palestinians, deriding the necessity for international law, threatening neighbouring countries with annexation à la Hitler...

In other words, you stopped a trifle short.

Indeed. ergo the "etc..."

But I made my point.

No need to derail, further into politics. I am not equating the heinousness of Pumpkin Head with changes in the manufacture of visual material. My point is; normalization is not always a move in the right direction.

Visual imagery has been put into the hands of the untrained masses.
That is not all "bad."

However, the general public is largely ignorant about visual art.
Though it seems (is?) elitist, this reality is why so many folk cannot see why Boris is inferior to Frazetta.

The big measure of Art has long been: "Oooo! It looks like a photo!"
A general "slickness". Which A.I. provides easily.

With some level of respect.... then what's the point? There is so much porn of all sorts including drawn and 3d on image sites I can't really work out what the actual point of such a post would be.

I will admit I'm against AI 'art' in general because its built using stolen data, and its also pretty artistically boring as a hell of a lot of those stolen images are from catalogues and it shows in composition.

But yeah, I really don't understand the point of why you would want to do it, specifically here. An adult image site I visit is full of AI stuff so welcomes it (I wish they would let us filter it out but its free so meh), as do a lot of similar sites. Why push for it on a specifically written site?

On Deviantart I post erotic stuff, and much of it is non nude. Non nude, mildly erotic stuff is surprisingly popular.

The only thing worse than having to wade through AI slop and mediocre landscape photos is listening to idiots spout their insufferable anti-Trump rhetoric, which also should have no place on an art-related forum.

Deviantart is FAR from "deviant" and only marginally "art". I have an account, but gave up on it, because of their policies on "explicitness".
I have outlets for my mild/mainstream/commercial work.

LIT was my go to for erotic work.

Just as bad is whining about anti-orange rhetoric.

Goes both ways, eh?

Seriously, your post contributes nothing to the conversation.

You reinforce my point about the normalization of vitriol. > "idiots" and "insufferable" .

I know its popular on other sites, especially porn specific ones. But my question is..... why here? Why does AI art add to a website focused on the written word specifically made by creatives and not AI? I'm not saying don't do it, I'm saying why not do it at places where its already celebrated rather than trying to push it on a place that it isn't welcome?
