A Song for Everything

I'm glad you came up with a song for runaway groom. I tried but was unsuccessful. As a consolation I was going to post "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" by Paul Simon. Several of those ways would have worked on the wedding day. 😂😂😂

Being or Feeling Alive (concept)

I'm sure I've posted this before, probably several times. But it's still a song that is super important to me. I'm not even particularly a Pearl Jam fan, but this song spoke to me when I really needed it.

There is a Sprinsteen written tune that did the same thing for me years later... but that's a different story. 😝

Pearl Jam - Alive

Oh... Bruce got there first. Okay.

Ghosts

While you were typing his name I was posting his song. It was meant to be!!

So what’s the song and what’s the story? 😀😀😀

Another of the really low moments in my life. I was all alone. Absolutely no one cared if I lived or died (not really true, but that's how I felt). My soul mate was dead. I got laid off from work. Running out of money, well past out of hope. Selling off everything that means anything to me so I can keep going, but don't even know why I should care.

I had certainly heard the song before, I saw the movie in the theater I think (not positive). And I happened to hear it again. This song to me speaks of just so much hope. All I need to do, is just keep it together, keep going, and around that next corner is the light of day. The darkness in my life will end. It says all that to me, and brings tears to my eyes, every time I listen to it.

I still don't have someone to share my life with, which to me is everything... but maybe... just maybe... around that next corner, she'll be there and we'll just start talking like we've known each other forever....

In 1999, Bruce got the band back together. He hadn't toured with the E Street Band since 1988. Between 88 and 99 there was the "other band," a solo album, and some outtakes and greatest hits releases. Then we got the Reunion Tour. It was our first time seeing Clarence and the gang in a long, long time. "Light Of Day," which was kind of obscure and not very well-known, was a centerpiece of that tour. The song was core to the message of that tour, which was brotherhood(sisterhood) and hope. I saw a bunch of shows on that tour and by the time it was over, it was baked into my brain. I had to have LOD. Now whenever it pops up in a show, I rock out.

I hope your someone is just around the corner.

The current prompt is "dreams."
