Thank you to all who are lifting the citizens of Florida up in prayers. Warm Embraces to you all. Right now, it appears that my home and family will be spared the wretched eye of the storm, but we are geting some strong wind and rain bands right now. We've taken every precaution to be safe, so i'm not going to panic. I hate that my fortune still means that some of you will not fair so well. Please know you are ever in my thoughts and prayers!

Soron is having high winds, thunder and lightening in Tampa right now, a tree branch fell on his neighbor's truck... He keeps getting bumped offline from power surges and such.

I'm back home ... we're in the eye of what is now TS Jeanne.
Lost power for only a couple of hours... however, we do have some damage to our mobile home, and both our carport and storage shed are gone... totally blown away.... with most of the stuff inside the shed now waterlogged and/or ruined
ugh

anyway, I'll check in again later

Still standing, gang. We did pretty well in Miami-Dade county....I wish all others the best and hang in there like true Floridians...Several of my friends have been beat up by the various hurricanes.....more than once. I've made some trips to help them out..incredible distruction. And STILL 2 more months to go in hurricane season

Just got power back about an hour ago....lost it for about 24 hours. Everything pretty much ok here, just a little water inside from the flooded yard. Just thankful that it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Ashleigh, hope everything is ok down there where you're at in Clay county.

babydoll, sorry to hear about the damage that you sustained. Wish I was a little closer to help you out down there.

Arden, princejonny, and Ammo, glad to hear you guys are ok and didn't get hit too bad.

Hello beautiful people! I just got finished making breakfast for Captain Sunshine so he could leave and be at the power company by 5:30 a.m. Poor fella, everything he just finished rebuilding after Frances and Ivan swooped through here is all torn down again.

My power went out yesterday when a tree finally gave way and fell on a wire over at the Dairy across the street. Can you say "Fried Heifer?" But it was back on after a couple hours, thank goodness. Poor cow, my condolenses to her calves.

Jeanne may have only been a tropical storm when she blew through here, but she managed to tear the whole west side of my barn roof off, breaking the trusses and all! Thankfully, no one was hurt, not even the animals. Once again, the chickens looked a little plucked from being beaten in their nesting tree by the wind, but are otherwise fine.

Black Creek is cresting at 21 feet above flood stage and there are many people w/o power and their homes are just swamped. A poor 15 yo boy was running inside his Uncles's home the other night to avoid the damaging storm, when a huge tree limb came spinning down and hit him in the head. He was deceased before his body fell to the ground. This has been a terrible season for storms. I feel such empathy for everyone who has dealt with, or has family members who are dealing with the aftermath of any effects of storm.

To everyone here, that I know and have yet to meet, bless you all, stay safe, and make each day one worth living.
