A woman's rights to her own life, her own body

It has been a decade of Republican feints, to test out Democratic weaknesses. Some efforts of the Republicans were offensively crass. These efforts would be selfishly and directly beneficial to the politicians that put the bills forward.

Republicans had originally exempted Members of Congress and their staff, in their effort to replace ACA. They did not worry that it would look heartless and uncaring. The negative reaction from the public was met with indifference, a shrug, and unconcern on the part of the Republicans. Was worth it to them, to at least try to slip it under the radar. Did they view it as a freebie that was lost ? A little nothing perk?Nothing is too low, or too shameful, for them.Nothing too hypocritical.

Is it true, that Paul Ryan has walled the public off, from contacting him ?Rumor is, the only way to reach him, is by snail mail to his home.Paul Ryan's press secretary sends out a tweet that consists of complete and utter lies.

"This is a pretty crude evasion, and a seemingly pointless one. Anybody who's savvy enough to know what a CBO score is in the first place also knows that this is badly misleading. Earlier bills were scored. Earlier bills went through committee. Earlier bills were posted online a month ago. But none of that applies to the actual bill that was passed on Thursday."

"So why bother? Donald Trump has taught Republicans that Twitter is a useful tool for communicating with your base, and that's all this is. Most people who read these tweets will have no idea what they're about, just that they're more examples of how the lying left is always telling lies about Republicans. It will become a useful attack meme on the right for a while, and that's all it's for."

Truth of the current matter, which will impact everyone that is not wildly rich, moderately wealthy and young, or, highly influential and connected. It is an ugly sight, to see the women that sided with those who shoved the bill, through.A certain Republican villiainess brazened it out in public, to make dismissive comments about Jimmy Kimmel and his newborn son. Kimmel had a moment of connection and clarity. If he had no been fortunate, if circumstances would have been less advantageous, he could have lost his son.He and his son had a close call. For others, it would have been heart breaking grief, because of harshness of choices the Republicans make***** and death.

By repealing the ACA, they voted to end the cost sharing subsidies that made insurance in the ACA marketplace more affordable and end most of the Obama era taxes that were instituted to supplement the costs of those subsidies, returning hundreds of billions of dollars to the wealthiest Americans. The repeal also removes the individual mandate, which could likely lead to healthier people opting out of purchasing health insurance, causing out-of-pocket expenses for those left with coverage to skyrocket.

This plan also continues to threaten Medicaid, ending Medicaid expansion, drastically cutting Medicaid funding by over $600 billion and instituting block grant funding, leaving states with less money to assist the poorest and sickest Americans. Tens of millions of people will lose coverage through this dismantling of the Medicaid program and women of color in particular would be disproportionately impacted.

In addition, the AHCA bars Planned Parenthood from receiving Medicaid reimbursements, one of the methods Republicans have employed in an attempt to “defund” the healthcare organization. It also further restricts coverage of abortion in the private insurance market by placing restrictions on private insurance companies’ ability to offer comprehensive health care coverage that includes abortion.

"There is no reason to come here session after session and drive women into the shadows for illegal abortion – but this bill will do that,” said Howard.

The bill, she cautioned, also risks raising the already alarmingly high Texas maternal mortality rate – an issue so-called “pro-life” legislators have failed to prioritize this session. “This is political interference in medicine at its worst,” said Howard. “Politicians have no place in the medical exam room. We can sit here self-righteously and decide that we always know what's best for every person, but we do not. If you actually want to stop abortion, then help me stop unwanted pregnancies,” she pleaded.

If it gains final approval from the House (a highly likely outcome), it moves to the Senate, where changes between the two versions will be squared away. If accepted, it then hits anti-choice Abbott’s desk to be signed into law. The legislative session ends May 29.
