Acrolaw... open...

Saphire dismounted and stretched her tired and sore legs, "oh what a ride" she whispered to her faithful mount and companion.

17 hands high black as midnight Onyx was an impressive steed, and his master was not all together unimpressive herself, Tall for a woman and with excellent muscular tone Saphire had been known to turn heads. Not that she had much interest for it life just didn't seem to give her that chance.

Being a rare breed of half Slaver half human Saphire had never fit into either world. None of it her choice or her mothers. The Slavers had demolished her village and her mothers pride before Saphire was born. To look at Saphire ye could be excused for thinking she but a human, however come night when her eyes turn from pools of blue to a shimmering yellow and her cat like reflexes at there peek ye soon knew there be something different about this one.

Securing Onyx to a branch, Saphire stooped down beside the bubbling stream and cupping the cool water washed her face. Acrolaw was but 2 to 3 days ride from here, it was there she hoped to restock and the head on her way.

Saphire was determined to find her place in this world. Being expelled from her village long ago with childish taunts and her mothers heavy heart, Saphire had ran away and been alone since the age of ten and five. Now twenty and one Saphire had learnt well to survive alone. But she had a need to know a place were she was free to be herself.

Refreshing herself by the stream she decide she would camp here this evening her body to tired to ride on. Standing up she looked around there were fish to be caught in this stream for supper, her cat like instincts allowed her to know this she had incite to were they swam and knew just how to catch them.

"First a fire" she normally spoke to herself in just this way mainly to keep from feeling alone, walking into the woods she picked up twigs and sticks and a few dry leaves to start her fire. Returning to camp she started a warm glowing fire. "now for the fish" Onyx grunted as if agreeing all to use to his masters ramblings.

Glancing around for any sign of life other then that of beast, Saphire certain she was alone began to undress to her briefs, "no sense getting me clothes wet" she whispered as she removed her boots and leggings. Standing knee deep in water with only but a camisole and briefs, Saphire stood still like a statue and moved her hands with the grace of an eagle as she fished for her supper.

Myst

Silently walking up to the makeshift hospital Myst looks around wondering where everyone else has gone to. Noticing the fire has just been recently put out. But no one standing guard, getting a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. Motioning to Andre giving him hand signals to move to the other side of the door. Lowering her body closer to the ground Myst slowly opens the door to peek into the building. Releasing her breath on a sigh of relief, well at least the villagers are safe. Closing the door softly so as not to disturb any of the sleeping villagers. Myst then speaks softly to Andre, "maybe we can brew a bit of tea before the others come back. I am sure they are probably out after supplies or scouting."

Moving over to the firepit adding a few smaller twigs bring about a small flame that soon turns into a nice fire. Looking about her Myst moves to the smithy she had noticed earlier. Finding a bucket and some water she heads back to the fire. Watching Andre as she approaches, not knowing what to think of the warrior but sensing his need to help others. Sqatting down to set the small bucket of water on the fire waiting the for the popping and sizzling sounds to end before trying to add her pinches of tea to the brew. Knowing that Andre is watching her intently, "is it the fur or the hair that catches your attention the most warrior?" Myst asks finally unable to stay quiet for long.

"To be blunt, I notice not the hair, or the fur. It is your quiet grace and beauty. You are by far the most beautiful creature I have seen in my life." adding quickly "I will go find some food."

Moving away quckly so that Myst will not see the flush creeping throughout his face. Why did he say that, one such as she, would never have an interest in one such as he.

Grabbing his bow, he set out quietly into the woods, blending in like a shadow. A short time later, he returned, dragging a good sized deer.

"This should feed a few people this evening." With no more words, he set to cleaning the deer.

Snatching at a large fish Saphire caught it first go, but the trouble began when she tried to remove it from the water.

The fish was huge and more then enough for her so she decided it would do and to walk out of the stream with it for fear if she threw it to the bank it wouldn't make it and would land back in the stream.

Walking carefully she fought the fish as it flipped and flopped making life as hard as possible as if sensing its fate "stay still you slippery bugger" she cursed as it flipped about in her hands.

Just then a slight over site made the chore even harder, as she fought the fish she miss placed her footing and landed with a SPLASH on her rump in the stream. Her under garments now soaked through she huffed and flared annoyed at her predicament.

Fish still in hand but drenched from head to toe Saphire emerged from the stream and threw the fish on the ground near the fire with an angry thud "damm fish" she muttered as she rang out her long brown hair and contemplated what to do next.

Deciding the fire would not serve to dry her fully before it became to dark, Saphire slipped from her garments and retrieved a blanket from her saddle bags, with it huddled in close to the fire. Her undergarments carelessly laying over a branch to dry.

After a supper of fish and some dry stale bread she had left over, Saphire laid back wrapped in the blanket staring up at the stars.

"Will I ever find it Onyx" she whispered to her steed as if he held the answers. before long her eyes began to close and she found slumber.

After picking her bow and arrow's off the ground. Tasha walked with Justin around behind one of the building's leading to the forrest. Justin, sence Starblade is leaving i will stay here to guard the village while you are out hunting. While we have a moment i was wondering..well that is .. if i upset you earler then i am sorry. I didnt mean to do so, and i ask for your forgiveness...

The elf ran off into the forest.

He closed his eyes, and let his senses flood through him, pulling his cloak over his head. He followed traces of magic, to their ends. He followed it into a tree, which he stopped in front of. He looked around, and touched the tree. He looked around puzzled he circled it and called out <hello? someone home?> in elven. He tapped it again, not finding a door, oh great what kind of house is this?, he thought. He was circling the tree again, when he almost bumped into a fairy, which he jumped back and spoke in the most ancient tongue he knew <I'm sorry, I'm looking for a house>

It looked at him <you don't belong here, you're not a creature of the forest, creature of the sky you are> and flitted around, noting his appearance. He decided that noone would see and let his hood down. <I am of the people.>

<You are different, you're eyes are too big, you> it paused, a look of horror grew on her face, <you're a child of the dark ones.> Rayet looked suprised, his eyes grew wider, he looked around him, trying to make sure the fairy didn't alert anything else.

<please, I am looking fo-> <Leave!! Now!!> the fairy shouted at him, and he was knocked back into a tree. His vision went blurred, and darkened.

When he awoke the forest had changed. He felt the magic had dissapeared. He looked around, afraid, not sure where he was. He touched the trees around him, and felt nothing. Despair growing in him, he put his ear to the ground. He heard water, he stood up and listened again, yes there was water. Not sure where he was, he sat down again, feeling sad, why had she done that to me? I was just looking for food. He hugged his knees to his body, still feeling very sad, never had anyone been so direct about their fears.

He picked up the pendant he had, made out of the beautiful glass that everything else of his was made of. Myst had been the only one who had been so nice to him, he also got to finally have company that he had not had in a while.

It looked so beautiful, yet the bird shape, looked so sad, noticing it was getting dark, I need food. He got up and started moving towards the water.

Myst

"To be blunt, I notice not the hair, or the fur. It is your quiet grace and beauty. You are by far the most beautiful creature I have seen in my life." Andre's words totally surprised Myst knocking her speechless. Until Andre returned bringing back the deer he had brought down. Trying to think of something to say to ease some of the tension that had formed between them. Turning to speak to Andre getting out, "I'm sorry...." not being able to finish her sentence before a feeling of such sorrow filled Myst that she almost caught herself crying because of it.

Sitting on the ground hurriedly and shutting down her consciousness closing off all thought and feeling and directing a search into herself Myst browses looking for the contact. It had seemed far off and not of her own, which worried her slightly until she connected it.

"Starblade I am here friend... I feel your sorrow tho I am not sure how. You are not alone I am here and I am friend, if you have need of me I will come to you. I still carry the jewel of which you have given to me." Sending feelings of warmth and affection in her mind to him. Hoping that she had made the connection, and that he had heard her concern.

Opening her eyes facing a very worried looking Andre, he must have been speaking to her but she could not recall what he had said. “I’m sorry Starblade communicated but it was not to speak I feel sorrow such loneliness. I know not what has happened but I feel it from him and it concerns me greatly.” Explaining quickly to Andre for her strange behavior.

The jewel on his forehead pulsed, he felt something. He stood up, drawing his hooks, looking around. He knew if anone had followed him he would be dead by now. Realization struck him, he gave Myst the crystal. That was odd, he felt emotions through it, only the people could do that. Caring less about what he was feeling through the jewel, he set to work. He dropped down to the ground, his wings burst through his back, and he took his cloak off. Soaring into the night air, circling high up, he focused on the jewel, he said "lle, amin, elea'amin i'men, elea'amin i'men. elea'amin i'men."

* * *
The jewel in Myst's hand pulsed with light, and came alive with magic. It pulsed out waves of magic slowly.

* * *
He felt it pulse back, it was weak, which meant he was far, but how far? He would find that out later, realizing that there was a way back at least he had some direction now. He was tired of wandering around aimlessly. Flying low over the forest, he flew by the river and dropped down nearby. Still hungry, he knew there would be food, so he sat by the edge waiting patiently.

After a bit, he managed to catch a fish on the end of his hook. It writhed and he looked at it hungrily, keeping it in the water, he gut it, with the other hook. He let the guts hit to the soil and covered it. He then looked around, to make sure noone was watching and dissapeared into the trees to eat it.

After finishing it, he remembered his promise about getting extra food, not sure what to do, he decided he'd wait a little longer for another fish.

*SNAP** CRACK* twigs snapping woke and alerted Saphire to something or someone near by. Opening her eyes she felt the power grow from with in, her eyes shone yellow and she could now see all around her.

The average man couldn't see his hand in front of his face in this darkness but she could see as if it were daylight. Scanning around her camp she saw nothing, the sound must be from within the woods.

Pulling the blanket tight around her, suddenly remembering her nakedness she felt all the hairs on her neck stand on end as if she was being watched. turning again slowly she scanned the area, her fire now a low glowing bed of embers provided no warmth and she was starting to feel a chill. "calm yourself Saphire" she whispered so softly to herself.

After along while she curled back up in a bundle," it must have been an animal" she convinced herself enough to relax the glow in her eyes dissipating till her normal colour returned. the blanket slipped off one shoulder as her head slumped and again she found peaceful sleep.

Justin sighed. "Its not that Tasha. Its just that... There may be something I have to finish before I can relax. Look, when I return, I'll explain everything."

Justin turned and entered the forest. As he walked he sniffed the air for a bit, but found nothing. "Blast it. Nothing... Wait..." Justin got on his hands and kness, and sniffed the ground. "Wolves.... And they're not too far..." Justin sniffed again. "Maybe they can help..." Justin got up and broke out in a run. The scent of Wolves were getting closer, but they were running, and it was getting hard to catch up. "They... Must... Of felt me comming! I gotta stop them before they get too far ahead!"

Justin launched himself into the air, and landed in front of a small wolf. He wraped his arms around it and slowed it down. "Gotcha!" The wolf yelped in surprize while the rest of the pack turned around. "Easy, easy! I'm not gonna hurt you!"

The pack slowly aproached Justin, growling. [Leave the whelp be!]

[Or you'll do what? Bite me? Relax, I have no attention to harm him.]

[How can you speak our language?! No human can talk to us!]

[Well, they can if they use magic... But you're right, I'm not human.]

One of the wolves carefully aproached Justin, sniffing around him. [I say we do not trust him... He looks human, and he reaks of human and Slaver blood!]

[Look human?] Justin relized that he still had his hair covering his ears. [Oh!] Justin shook his hair, revealing his ears. [This better proof for you?]

[I don't belive my eyes! He's from that region?!]

[Yes, I'm surprized myself,] muttered another wolf. [What is it you need.]

[Food. To be simple.]

Tasha turn'd walking back around to the other side of the building. Feeling somewhat releaved that it had not been her words that had upset him so.

Looking up she noticed Myst and Andre had returnd with a deer. Walking twords them. Suddenly Myst sat down upon the ground. Tasha's walk became a run as she huryed over to them.

Justin let go of the young wolf and stood up. [Its been quite a few days since I ate. And I've just battled against a horde of Slavers, so I'm basicly on my thread's end here... Do you think you can help me?]

The wolves whispered, though it sounded like very low growls to anybodie else nearby. The eldest wolf walked up and stared deeply into Justin's lost eyes. [Okay, we will show you our hunting grounds...]

Justin couldn't help but smile in relife. "Arroo suolo"

[You are welcome Wolf of the Frost. Please, follow us...]

Myst

Myst heard Tasha as she rushed up... The worried look upon her face tensing up Myst's body. "I am fine Tasha, it is Starblade. I am worried for him, he does not answer to me I feel him and sorrow. But he is not answering the magic to speak and I am worried that he might be introuble." Speaking softly as Myst gets to her feet slowly.

Looking around, "where has Justin gotten to? We have work that needs to be done and I for one would like to get the people moved to safety. We found the caves that you spoke of, they are wet and cold but will be a good defense if need be against the slavers. Should they return, in the morn they will recieve a good surprise with the villagers gone." Smiling as she says the last part invisioning the slavers confusion.

Taking a deep breath, "Hmm that smells good Andre you have done well." Turning to Andre while saying this.

After waiting for quite some time, he thought he saw something, not quite sure, he put his eyepatch over his right eye again, still in the trees, he climbed down slowly. He pulled out his bow, and eyed the fish. He tied an imaginary rope to the tree he dropped down from. He watched patiently, and thought he saw it, firing his bow, his aim wasn't very true. The arrow hit the fish near it's tail. Nonetheless he managed to pull the fish back up. He wrapped it in some cloth, and started making his way back to the forest, when he heard breathing. He hung the fish to his belt and drew out his weapons, and approached, bringing his cloak over his head to conceal his face. The being had made a fire, he noted. He prodded the being with the curved section of his hook, trying to wake the being up.

feeling something push in the small of her back Saphire's eyes jolt open and she looks across the fire to her clothes she can see her weapon but it is out of reach.

Cautiously turning her head she peers from beneath the blanket up at the hooded figure "who's there?" she tries to focus her eyes but having just woken from slumber finds it hard to see in this light "what do you want" she clutches the blanket tight preparing her legs for action, if she needs to she is ready to throw herself to her feet and run. Glancing once more to her clothes and weapons she knows just what direction she will run also.

Rayet jumped back a few feet, he didn't expect this. It was a female. He tilted his head to the side, he replaced his weapons, replacing them to his back. "amin Rayet Sulina, lle?" he spoke in elven (I'm Starblade of Windsong, you? if your character understands elven) and stretched out his hand.

Having no clue what the man just uttered she stared at him a moment then noticing his hand realised it was a greeting.

Standing she wrapped the blanket about her with one hand and extended the other to take his. The blanket slipped from one shoulder as she replied "I am Saphire, Hail and well met" and shook his hand and smiled warmly.

"What brings thee to my camp?" she asked as she took a seat by glowing embers of what was left of her fire.

"Would thee be so kind as to grab some wood" she pointed to the woods " I would but you see I cant in this blanket" hoping he understood for he spoke a foreign tongue to her she looked at him and smiled.

at least she didn't attack me he thought. He walked up to her, now and touched two fingers to her temple, kneeling down, Can you understand me? he conjured the thoughts into her head, giving it a flavor that seemed elven. Hoping she'd understand, he pressed on, I don't understand what you say, uh what is it you want?

Startled by him approaching her and touching her she went to step back but then a strange thought came over her but it was as if it wasn't her own....was it could it be his. Saphire looked at him and concentrated on the thoughts "I don't understand" was all she could comprehend the thought was just not clear enough for her.

Taking his hand from her temple she whispered "Doesn't matter" she stepped away and grabbed her clothing it was now dry enough to wear any way. Stepping behind some shrubs throwing the blanket over it to guard her privacy she began to dress. Coming out from behind the shrub dressed in her leather pants and white peasant top she smiled and then sort about getting some more twigs for the fire.

Coming back with an arm full of twigs she said "see, understand now" and began to stack them over the embers. It didn't take long for them to catch and start the fire again.

Justin slowly followed the wolfs into a cave. The wolf that he caught kept giving him odd glances, as if he was afraid of him, but at the same time, it was as if the pup admired him.

[So little one... What do you find so interesting about me?]

The small one just adverted Justin's friendly gaze, it was like he was fearing the others may say something. And sure enough, one did.

[Tell me, word is a human village was attacked by Slavers, but insted of killing each other, the slavers were defeeted and the humans survived. Were you a part of that battle?]

[I was.]

The wolf, and many others growled. [Then beat it! We have no use for either Slaver, or Human sypathsizers!]

[Thats enough!] The elder calmed the whole pack down in surprizingly one growl. [If you had forgoten the incedent four years ago, let me remind you! Humans were the ones that saved us. Now I will admit I do not trust very many humans, but we can at least return the favor the humans that saved us in those years of darkness by assisting the humans in need at the destroyed village. If different races cannot enstablish a common ground, chaos will assume!] The elder sighed. [I apologise for my pack's actions... Many of them have yet learned many of the essentals.]

Justin didn't say anything, he just nodded and continued to follow the pack. In a mattaer of short minutes they arrived at a hidden spot, it was not only a short cut to get out of the forest, but it alos led to a small area in between the mountains as well. Justin couldn't help but whistle in awe.

[This is our secret hunting grounds. Food is abundent here, as well as herbs and other plantation for healing. Take what you need. We will visit the village every two days to replenish your supplys until they can stand on their own four feet, er... So to speak... You get what I mean.]

Justin laughed. [Yes, I get what you mean. Is there anything I can do for you in return?]

[You already have, in fact.]

Looking at Myst Tasha noticed that she was no longer whereing her cloak, and that she was very lovely to look upon. Quickly hearing Mysts concern for Justin and Starblade. Tasha explained about the supplies coming in a week, or more depending on the mt road, and wether they were attacked on the way.

I am sorry i didnt know you were bringing food back with you. Justin went out hunting, and Starblade went in serch of logging's, In the forrest, i forgot to warn you and the other's about the Wee folk in the forrest. With the slaver's attack i hadnt given them much thought. Sence you are able to sence him can he follow your magic to us or do we need to search for him.

Worried about Starblade and Justin Tasha continued to speek.

While we wait for Justin's return we could gather the villager's that are able to help carrie the wounded. Silvia will probably be the best one to ogranize them for she has better knowlage of healing than I. While we can decide wither to move them in small groups or all at once and such.

Reolizing that she was nevrvious, and rambleing she closed her mouth and waited for Myst and Andre to reply.

Justin followed the young wolf torwards the village, carrying a sack of fish, herbs, and even some fruit. As soon as they arrived at the foot of the village, the wolf turned and started to leave. [Thanks for you help!]

Justin walked into the village and saw that Andre and Myst has return. "So you're back huh? We were getting a little worried."

Myst

"I think we should try to move them all at once it will be slow going but I think it would be safer in the long run. This way we are a group incase of an attack and have enough of us there to defend against the invasion." Responding to Tasha's rambling, Myst could tell Tasha was worried. She wanted to help the woman but was unsure what she could say to make her not worry so much.

Looking back to Andre looking for some help with the problem, not getting a response Myst looks back to Tasha. The only thing that pops into her head was something her own mother would do for her when she was worried or nervous as a young girl. Without warning Myst walks over to Tasha wrapping her in a tight hug. Stroking her hair softly until she feels Tasha's tension ease some before releasing her. Looking at her Myst tells her softly, "No worries things will be fine, we will get through this together. All of us and together nothing can harm us unless we allow it to," smiling softly before stepping away and going back to the fire. Sitting down being silent for a moment letting her words to Tasha sink into the night. Hoping that she had helped the young woman at least some in calming her fears. Sneaking a peek at Andre to see his reaction to what she had just done. Myst almost jumped out of her skin so adsorbed in her concentration of the young woman and Andre she failed to hear Justin's arrival.

"So you're back huh? We were getting a little worried." Regaining her composure rather quickly Myst turns her dove eyes on Justin smiling as she says in a teasing voice, "you were worried about lil ole us? I feel very special now." Laughing at Tasha's look as Myst watches the girl smirk behind her hand coughing it off trying hard not to laugh out right.

Looking back to Justin, noticing for the first time the bundles he is carrying slung over his shoulder. "So warrior what have you brought that will add to Andre's venison?" Indicating the roasting deer on the spit, and Andre as he tends to the meat with precise movements so that the venison does not burn. Cooking it as if he was well versed in the ways of handling open fires.

Turning back to Justin saying, "come Justin sit by the fire there is much to talk about and discuss." Motioning that he should sit with us, "we were talking about how to move the villagers in a few hours. Starblade is somewhere out there but he is far away and I felt sorrow from him. Not so much as a need or trouble but a great loneliness. I did not know this was able to be done outside of ones race but it seems that it can be for I have experienced it."

He watched her, as she gathered the wood, and started doing something, his eyes grew wide when he realized that she was making a fire, he quickly dissapeared as the fire finally caught on. Staying away from it, he thought: great she's making a fire, what am I going to do with her, oh well, guess I'll have to leave her.

He left, thinking by the seldarine, if it wasn't for drow I wouldn't have so many problems. He touched his jewel again.

* * *
the jewel pulsed again with magic, this time glowing, acting as its own lightsource.

* * *

He felt it, pulsing again. He would find his way back, he began running again, taking off his cloak, he drew out to his true form, wings bursting out. Jumping into the night sky, he called out like a bird of prey in the night. He flew towards the pulsing. Slowly, he'd get there, the moon still high. He flapped away with the heavy load. He felt a little tired, he touched his jewel again, comfirming the location once more. He commanded the jewel off, I hope noone noticed that, if the people notice that, I might return faster than I'd hoped. He created a tunnel of wind again and rushed through, it brought him closer, and his eye as far as he could tell, he was near.

He landed on the roof of what he though might be the building that everyone always gathered around, and hid his wings again. Slowly he stepped around. Carinea came over and cooed at him, he cooed back, petting her. Smiling, he dropped down to the ground still holding her up. Stepping inside, his eyes grew wide as he noticed the fire, and squawked in dismay. He jumped back out, and Carinea, followed after him. He was still shivering, leaning against the wall. Looking more pale than normal.

Justin couldn't help but smirk at Myst's comment. "As the saying goes, 'flattery will get you nowhere, and everywhere'."

'So warrior what have you brought that will add to Andre's venison?'

"Well. I have a few healing herbs, as well as edible herbs, some fruit, and enough fish to last us a few days. Half of them are Salmom, the other are Catfish." He set the sacks down and went into the makeshift hospital, and returned with his bag, pulling out an dagger and a cloth he uses to clean and gut fish. Set knelt down near them and began to clean and prepair the fish for food.

"We were talking about how to move the villagers in a few hours. Starblade is somewhere out there but he is far away and I felt sorrow from him. Not so much as a need or trouble but a great loneliness. I did not know this was able to be done outside of ones race but it seems that it can be for I have experienced it."

Justin turned his head when he heard a sqwak. Seeing Starblade freak out at the site of fire, he could only shake his head and sigh. "We have got to do something about feather boy's fear of fire..."
