Myst

Starblades sudden appearance didn't surprise Myst much, she just kept moving away from the caves and her friends. Starblade go away they will not find me nor catch me if you go away. They will not know you are connected to me in anyway. Please I am doing this to protect you you've been a good friend and I will not allow anything to harm you. Then Starblade was gone, thinking maybe he had taken her at her word Myst moved along rapidly.

What did catch her attention was the crossbow bolt that hit the grown just before her. Shifting shape didn't take much it was an ability she hadn't used in a long time. But now was a good time to remember how to use it. Where once there stood and human looking female now moved a graceful lepard. Slipping deeply into the brush feeling as if something is wrong but having the instincts of the giant cat to stay alive.

Hearing the screams from above stops Myst in the hugh cats tracks. Looking skyward watching with her heart in her throat as she sees exactly where Starblade had gone to. The bird men lost in airal battle together one of the three bird men seemed to move further away from the battle. Reconizing a spell caster a low warning growl issuses from deep within the throat of the huge cat.

Shifting back into her human form Myst starts singing softly letting the beauty of nature stir her voice. Calling forth her Lord and Lady asking them in their blessings giving assistance to her spell. Targeting the spell caster with her hands, her voice ringing out loud and pure.

Starblade understand I do not wish to harm you in anyway but you must move away from the spell caster now. I am going to help in your battle but I do not wish for you to be caught in my spell. Myst holds her breath watching and waiting. As soon as she sees a break in the birdmen she lets lose her spell seeing with some satisfaction as the fireball speeds toward its target. Hitting the mage birdman in the back catching him off guard as flames lick greedily along the birdman's wings. Yelling loudly at the top of her lungs Myst tries to draw the birdman's attention to her. Hoping to give Starblade a chance to fight knowing it was her only choice now left to her.

Seeing Starblade take off, and hearing his words in her head. Tasha looked at Justin. Seeing the look on his face they both took of running in the direction of the caves. Tasha was a little slower than Justin, but did her best to keep up. Hoping everything would be alright.

The three locked in battle, Starblade let his blades go and let them encircle him, while he called upon magic the warrior slammed into his shield. Knocked back, his blades darted forward to confront the warrior, as Starblade flicked his gaze over the other warrior, engulfing him within darkness. The crossbow's shots were wide, but that didn't matter as they zoomed toward their eventual target. Starblade's eyes widened a bit, and concentrated, sweat beading on his brow, as he pulled open a gate to call forth two air elementals, and screamed "Ale'quel!!" Pointing to the mage, the mage, locked with his mind. Starblade rushed forward, crossbow arrows, following him. He raised his left hand, ready to release a spell on the mage. The mage's eyes opened and he grinned as a burst of energy blew up in between them. Starblade surprised, ended up plowing into the mage, his mind could not hold the protections and they collapsed. The wash of energy passed and he felt fine. The mage's eyes were wide, "what?? how?"

"My blood," Starblade replied as he saw Myst's spell shoot towards them. He cried out in rage, Noo!!! he screamed in her mind. As the flames licked all around him, It's too late now. He noticed that the two warriors decided to take him on. They switched directions as they saw the flames engulf the two of them. Starblade moved to confront them, he closed his eyes, called his blades backed to him, and looked down. "I'm sorry, may Corellon forgive me, and may the Seldarine accept you two. The other one is of no concern to us. You hunt me." The one pointed his sword at starblade, and replied, "You dare soil their names, you are n'tellquess now." Starblade dashed to confront the one with the sword. The other one took out a whip, and lashed it forward. Starblade dropped below them, out of range of the whip, and his eyes grew wide, as he heard the haunting sound of a Bladesinger, as the realization flooded his mind why the elf's sword was so beautiful. He got blasted by some wind, and the other one, charged forward, catching his hand in the whip. Starblade threw his blade at his attacker, and pushed the bladesinger away with a torrent of wind, he then flew forward, smashing his armor into the elf's torso. The elf's wings closed and he dropped curled in the pain of his broken bones. Starblade quickly worked a spell and was rewarded with the dissapearance of the falling elf, and turned to find the bladesinger facing him.

Myst

Screaming in pain as Starblade screams in her head. What did you just expect me to sit idoly by and let them beat you to death? You are my friend and if I can stop it then I will. Myst was totally confused why Starblade had yelled at her but she wasn't going to let anyone harm another that she cared for on any level.

Still watching the birdmen fight in the air, feeling her breath catch as the two remaining birdmen took to taking turns beating at Starblade. How long could he last against two such warriors as himself, the answer she did not know. But she wasn't sure she was ready to find out. Sitting on the ground Myst begins to chant once again, if she could not help within the fight then she could aid Starblade himself. Closing off her mind from her body knowing that distractions would be bad to her casting. Calling upon her Lord and Lady, her beautiful voice raising and lowering singing of phraise and battle the need to give and recieve.

Feeling the presence she was needing Myst convays what she is wanting to do opening her mind to Starblade. Before feeding him her strength through their linkage of minds. You once gave me a great gift now accept mine, it is not much I am afraid but it will aid you in your battle.

Arriving at the Cave's shortly after Justin. Tasha looked around for Myst. Not seeing her she quickly went to the other's asking what was wrong. The only information she could get was that Myst had taken off and in which direction she had gone. Looking to Justin she said. Please stay here and help guard the people. I'll go see if i can help Myst. Starblade hasnt returnd ether. She may be trying to help him.

Turning she ran in the direction Myst had gone in and begain tracking. Her bow and arrows at ready should she need them. After searching for some time Tasha heard the word No Dont! in her head Tasha could tell that ether Myst or Starblade was very paniced, and would have to be in order for her to hear their mind speak.

Looking up Tasha could see Starblade in battle with three other's of his kind. One of them bursting into flame. Seeing this Tasha took aim with her bow. Letting an arrow fly. Hitting one of the other's attacking Starblade.

He watched as he saw the arrow zoom in, it hit, but didn't pierce the bladesinger's armor, a grin spread accross his face, Starblade's face changed to a look of horror as he realized what was going to happen. The crossbow bolts caught up to him, three of them slammed into his body, and each called down a bolt of lightning. The sky lit up with bright blue flashes of lightning, and Starblade screamed in pain, as the bolts of lightning hit him.

Myst

Watching in horror as the crossbow bolts hit Starblade. Screaming her definace at the other bird men Myst did three things at once. Raising her voice calling upon her strength and the gift of her gods. One of her hands raise aiming a glowing orb of power to enclose Starblade. Making it hard for anything to hit him, unless magical in nature. In her other hand she took the feather from her hair that Starblade had given her she blew upon it letting it float upwards and craddle Starblades fall. As if a giant hand had taken hold of him and was slowing his decent to the ground. Fear and anger adding fuel to her last spell as she looked to the remaining birdmen.

Using her voice one last time as power builds from within her body. Calling upon her god and goddess. Myst sings of death and saddness tears streaming along her face as she thinks of Starblade and the night he had taken her flying. Lifting her hand towards the remaining two birdmen. Watching as two balls of flames streak from her fingers. Both hotter then normal fire and very powerfully built from her magic and her gods hands. The balls of firey death speed along catching both birdmen. As they hit Myst closes her reaching hand into a tight fist motion. A sound as loud as thunder rocks the heavens as the balls burst exploding on contact of the two birdmen. Neither would have had a chance against the flames licking along their bodies but Myst wanted paybacks for harming Starblade and she would have it. One way or another, as she stands watching the two birdmen fry to a crisp before her eyes.

Find where he landed and help him.Not even turning to look upon Tasha just telling her to go. Myst follows the decent of the two birdmen making sure that nothing would remain of them for others to follow. Feeling as tho she no longer had emotions and not sure if she cared. She had failed in protecting a friend and she knew it.

Tasha didnt waist any time. Hearing Mysts words in her head after she watched the sky and everything that had happend. She quickly moved threw the trees watching the sky and heading in the direction that Starblades body was decending.

Tasha found him laying in a clearing. Not far from the river, and tryed to go to him, but coulnd't get threw the protective barrier around him. From what she could see he looked to be gravly wounded.

Taking a chance she prayed that if she put down her wepons, and slowly walked into the sheld protecting him that she would make it threw.

Giving a sigh of releaf when she made it threw. Tasha quickly moved to Starblades side.

Removing her brother's cloak and tearing it to strips that she could use it to bandage his wounds. Using Mindspeak she begain explaining what she saw as well as what she was doing to Myst.

He is gravly wounded but he is still alive....i cannot move him on my own, and i am not sure that it would be wise to do so. If you could bring an extra cloak or some blankets so i could keep him warm it would help.

Tasha left him only long enough to soak some of the strips of her brothers cloak in water so that she could clean most of the wounds before binding them. Once done all she could do was wait.

Tasha stayed with Starblade doing her best to help him until Myst arrived. She new Myst's anger had given her the strength to do much but she worried that Myst would push herself to far and be unable to help.

Be careful Myst... I know you wish to be sure that they will not return to do ferther damage but Starblade needs your healing for i can only do so much.. She said in mindspeek hoping Myst would hurry.

Tears were running down Tasha's face. For tho she and Starblade had not gotten along to well he was still a friend and it didnt look as tho he would make it.

Shaking herself from her thoughts she held Starblades hand and sang him a lullaby from the village that her mother used to sing. Hoping to at least bring him a little comfort.

Myst

Moving swifting to get back to Starblade, hearing the panic in Tasha's voice. Worried that she would lose her friend Myst sang as she ran. Hoping she would make it there in time.

"Keep him quiet I am on my way just find where he is bleeding from and try to stop the flow as best you can." Speaking to Tasha in a soothing tone hoping to keep the fear both from her thoughts and from her friend. Gathering herbs along her way pulling what she would need when she arrived.

Upon reaching Tasha and Starblade giving a cry of dismay, waving her hands to dispel her feild of protection around him. "Here ground these together add some water you will find in my pouch. There is a small bowl in there as well that can be used as a cup it will have to work until we get him to the cave. The herbs would be better hot but cold will help some." Throwing her pouch to Tasha watching only long enough to make sure Tasha had understood her instructions before turning back to Starblade.

Taking careful acessment of Starblades wounds, whispering sorry softly within her mind to him as she set to work. Taking the stone he had given her knowing that some how he was connected to it and placing it within his hand tying it there hoping it would hold him to them for as long as it would take to move him. Then using her voice to coax the healing from within her own body becoming pure energy to slip from herself leaving her concience body sitting there and entering Starblades body. Beginning to slowly work at healing him from the inside out, holding the tears at bay with thoughts of light and happiness. Of his skies and birds, feeling that giving him a life line would help as well or so she hoped. Feeling her strenth waver a bit Myst pulled her spirit back to her. In time to see Tasha return to her with the bowl in hand, smiling her thank you. Then placing the bowl carefully to Starblades mouth forcing some of the fluid down his throat.

"We must get him some place safe, I know not if he will make it but I believe he has a chance. If we can get him to comfort out of the elements, help me here take my cloak we will make a carrying sling for him. I can use some of my magic to float while we carry him to the cave."

The trip was slow and they stopped several times to give Starblade a rest, and more of the herb concoction. The whole time he did not move, finally they reached the cave and made him comfortable within the warmth. Not wanting to leave his side Myst pulls a blanket around herself and curls up next to Starblade sleeping fitfully. Had she done all she could? Only time would tell...

Seeing Myst passout Tasha did her best to take charge and make sure everyone was safe. Taking turns with Justin, Andre, and Grok keeping guard.

On the third day Myst awoke and helpd where she could. Tasha had been out hunting the night before and they had a fresh venison stew going as well as some broth for their engerd friend.

Tasha had recived word that the workers had arrived at the village to begin the repares and had met with them breifly. Explaining that they would begin moving the villagers back and that they had several wounded from the slavers attacks and one of their companions had been wounded as well.

Arriving back at the caves after speeking with the workers Tasha spoke with Justin, Andre and the other's.

You are most welcome to stay should you wish it so... All of you will always have a home hear in my village. I will not ask more of you than you have already given. I thank you all for what you have already done She said her head high and her baring proud.

She would miss her friends should they decide to leave but she would not force them to do so. Taking their time they moved the villagers and the wounded back to the village.

Those who were able helped to rebuild did so. Clearing out the rubble and debrees and starting over. Tasha new it wouldnt be easy their way of life never had been. Their were still dangers in the forrest from the fair folk.. Kolbold's, and demons.

Tasha looked down at her brother's sword. She would never know if he had lived or died, but she would do her best to lead their people.

Justin sat away from the others, sitting in a tree and watching the sky. He carefully lifted his left hand that held his broken sword, and pulled what was left of the blade from its holder. Justin made a long, audible sigh as he lifted the sword, and pointed to the sky. "... Crushed so easily by a giant cat... Was it starting to wear out? Or were the jaws of that thing so strong that it crush something as strong as this...?"

Feeling a calling Starblade slowly made his way into the concious world. He opened his eyes, slightly, and lolled his head around, and noticed a bush of hair covered by a blanket, and realized it was Myst. Carinea was there looking at her with her head cocked to the side. He looked down and realized they had taken his clothes off and wrapped bandages around his wounds. He tried to move his right arm, wincing as he felt his bones grind against each other. Not sure what to do, he went decided to go back to sleep.

Myst

Waking only a few times to check upon Starblade, Myst would move around slowly and quietly. Checking his wounds making sure that the bandages were changed and that he had a herb broth down his throat. There was no way she was willing to lose him to starvation after all they had gone through.

Once she made sure that was all done Myst would curl up next to Starblade calling to him softly and crooning to the bird that was always there sitting watch over them. Drifting in and out of sleep letting her own body recope at the same time.

Tasha moved about the village over seeing the repairs as well as hunting down some game to begin restocking the village supply for the comming winter. They would dry out the meet and used the hides for warmth and clothing.

Checking on Myst and Starblade from time to time as she made her rounds. They both were starting to look alot better, but they still had a ways to go. Andre never far from Myst's side sat vigilent in the chair near them.

Sasha stayed with them to help for she new more about herbs, and healing than Tasha did, and she was proud of her for to she wasnt a fighter she still did her part in helping with the villagers and their friends.

Moving outside Tasha stoped and visited with Grock and Justin. Before making her last round of the eveining.

A large, hyena-like humanoid clad in scavenged pieces of armour, and clutching a well crafted halberd made his way easily and silently through the woodlands. He was used to the forrest, and the animals that dwelled there. More accuratly, he was used to hunting them down for food.

It had been several weeks since his last propper meal. Life as a mercenary wasn't all it was cracked up to be. He cursed his luck at lack of work. "Gruth, you got no luck. No-one hire stupid Gnoll"

Coming to the edge of the treeline, Gruth found he had stumbled across a devestated town. "Gruth. Your luck changed"

Seeing someone emerge from the forrest on her last round thru the village. Kara moved forward, and seeing that he was a crossbreed did not bother her. She had seen much in the last few weeks.

Stepping forward Kara kept a little distance out of respect. She was tired her long flaming red hair falling behide her in a simple braid.

She weighed around 120lbs. Her eyes a sea green with golden flex around them. Tho she was a small woman her figure was curvy in all the right places.

She was dressed in a white pesent blouse, Green tunic, and legging's with brown thigh boot's. Tho a little dirty and blood staind she still carried herself proudly.

Belted at her waist she carried a small dagger. Her quiver and bow upon her back, sword at her side. Greetings stranger.... I am Kara how may i help you.

Finally, after a long time, he woke up he looked around, seeing Myst still there, next to him. He put his cloak around her, and moved away. Inspecting his body, stretching his wings, and then he noticed that the villagers were all staring at him, his body, bandaged up as it was, his eyes still abnormally large, and his hair flowing back, his wings were stretched wide apart and he closed them again. He looked back at them, and turned to gather his equipment, feeling very uncomfortable.

Gruth grinned at Kara, his mouth full of sharp canine teeth as he puffed out his chest and pointed a thumb at himself. "Gruth wandering through. Gruth great fighter! Gruth strong! Gruth see broken village. Gruth help guard and fix! Gruth ask for little payment"

His eyes wandered down Kara's form, and caught sight of the blood stains his sense of smell had told him were there. His grin became slightly larger

"Gruth will work for meat"

Kara was releaved to hear that he was offering his services and not there to attack anyone. She wasnt sure she was up for another battle quite yet. Between the slaver's the demon and the wing'd elve's. Still she kept on her guard.

Smiling back at Gruth she said Your aid will be most welcome Gruth, and you may stay as long as you like. All i ask is that you caus no trouble...and we will share what we can. For there isnt much at the moment. If you'll follow me i'll show you where you may stay.

Truning she lead him over to one of the recently repaird buildings. I am sorry it isnt much.. but tis the best i have to offer.

Gruth stepped inside the building and sniffed the air. Something had died in here recently. "This place do Gruth well. Gruth accept" Placing his halberd against the wall, he turned once more to regard Kara. "What you want Gruth do?"

Kara looked to Gurth and said. For now we are mainly trying to repare the village.. If you like you may take a trun at keeping guard, and help with what you can. Smiling Kara turn'd to finish her round's.

Justing jumped down from the branches, and leaned back against the tree's base. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back on the tree. 'Tommorow,' Justing thought, 'I'll go back to the the mountain side where that thing is and gather up as much of my sword as I can... Maybe I can repair it...'

Gruth nodded to Kara. "Gruth will guard town. Gruth guard good" Picking up his halberd, he followed Kara out, and began to patrol the village

Myst

Upon opening her eyes Myst looks around noticing several things first.. One being that Andre had placed himself securely at her side. The second was that Starblade had moved and now she wore his cloak around her person. Smiling softly thinking that she must really thank him for his thoughtfulness. Moving carefully to look around the building vaguely remembering the move that had brought them back to the village.

The bird that had sat watching over Starblade was now gone as well but Myst figured that she had gone with him when he had moved from her side. Slowly making her way out of the covers and cloak to stretch her body some before folding Starblades cloak carefully holding on to it. Myst decides it is time to check on the others quietly making her way out of the building and into the bright sunlight of early day.

Not seeing Tasha or anyone else that she knows Myst takes to higher grown wishing to get a better view. Reaching the top of the hill to look back down at the village. Catching sight of Tasha as she moves further along in the town, moving some from building to building looking as if she is checking other of the village.

Now would be a good time to slip off no one would know and maybe it wouldn't be so awkward to say goodbye. As these thoughts come to her Myst brushes them aside and continues to watch the goings on below her feeling very proud of the small rag tag group of people. This would be her home for a while she could help rebuild and tho she knew she should honestly leave she found she was reluctant to go. Slipping deeper within the forest to find a quiet patch of earth, removing her garments laying them to the side along with her weapons. Then sitting upon the ground, her voice singing softly of high praise to her Lord and Lady praying that they hear her thanks for all that they have given and helped with. Then falling silent as warmth washes over her the feeling of her Lady blessing her. Myst smiles softly before sitting quietly just letting the touch of her Lady fill her.

After a while Myst collects her items, dressing quickly and heading back to the village in search of Tasha and the needs of the village. It was time to rebuild a home for them all. One that she hoped would be hold strong for several years to come. Giving silent thanks to the Lady and Lord one last time for guilding her footsteps to this village.

Justin slowly awaken to the sound of birds chirping above him. To say the least, Justin was surprized that he actualy fell asleep. Ofter the only time he was snoring was when something knocked him out cold. Slowly, careful not to further injure his wounds, Justin stood up, and stretched out, yawning. He saw that everybody was going along on their ow buisess, and probaly didn't need a wounder soldier to slow them down, so he decided that now was a good time to head back to the spot he left the beast dead, and gather the few useful pieces of his sword.

Quietly, Justin picked up his shattered sword and holder, and began to slowly make his way up the hill.
