Most of the PC and email I get on stories and poems is quite compimentary. Some are constructive criticism and those are welcome too. Most of the negative ones are good for a laugh.

I've been distracted these last few months but I'm always writing. Not writing stories as much as I used to because I'm concentrating more on novels and getting published, in search of the filthy lucre, the elusive spondoolicks.

I also write great steaming piles of letters, as anyone whose ever gotten one can testify, and now I'm doing essays too. I even feel an urge to write Taiwanese Instruction Manuals, like for hand-held vacuums and power screwdrivers. I get positively antsy when I don't write.

No doubt youre correct. I dont want to paint everyone with the same brush. I'm sure lotsa people on LIT are capable of objective criticism. And I know there are knotheads who wont. I read about the mischief they inflict.

When I first started posting here someone wanted to read what I write. I made it very clear they were welcome to read it but I did not want their opinion of its merits. But I got it anyhow. Somehow they construed it to be allegorical fiction. And I got a full dose of their opinion about it. That is, my allegory was old hat and not very original. But none of it was allegory or metaphor.

I concluded the person is an idiot. Why invite idiots to display their wares?

It's very strange, but falling in love, and getting married seems to have stripped out all will to write.

I have stories in my 'pending' file, I have stories in my head......I just don't seem to have the kick up the arse necessary to write them. I'd rather just snuggle down on the couch with the wife.

I do intend to get back to it. Eventually.

Once the novelty of living with someone I truly love and just want to be with, wears off.

Sounds like a false rationalization for not contributing to the centerpiece of a Web site where you post totally irrelevant incitement threads just to get people arguing on anything but the foundation topics of the Web site.

Of all the story Web sites I post to this is by far the most attentive and least abusive toward stories.

I rather doubt you write much at all--other than "I want to shock/anger you" posts to chat boards.

Yeah, the first couple of flames I got upset me. Since then I have been cultivating the Art of the Sneer to be used on persons of dubious neural fitness. Mostly, though, the comments have been complimentary and that warms the cockles of my Asperger's little black heart.

You know, if you want, you can turn of PC and emails. That way, nobody will ever say anything bad about your stories or, at least, you will never have to read the negative comments.

Personally, I like to get reader comments, and I solicit them.

Author in category 2. The only stories I'm currently working on, in a desultory way, are my Earth Day story and a Lesbian story. Another one is starting to take form, but I haven't put any of it down yet. I wish I could come up with a Valentine story, but one hasn't presented itself.
