AI A New Era - 11111100110

I don't understand, my story for AI Era is still pending since the 14th, but Stories that I submitted on the 17th and 19th have been published. I have messaged Laurel, but have have not received an answer. Is there someone else I can send a message to?
@Manu Do you know who to talk to about this issue? (I see that you do web admin and tech support posting.)

According to the event description, all stories get posted on the same day, regardless of submission date: September 6. That's the way events work, unlike contests.

Then why is the first story I submitted posted and this one sitting in Pending?

I believe the posting of the first story is a mistake. It's possible the Site failed to note that it was submitted for that event. Are you sure you properly included a note to the Site that it was for the event? You might PM Laurel and/or Manu and ask that question.

Event stories traditionally all get posted on the same day, regardless of submission date, unlike contest stories.

I submitted mine a couple of weeks ago and it was published on the second along with at least two others, if I recall right. I hope it still gets included with the rest of the AI stories. Will see.

I just looked and my second is scheduled to go up tomorrow.
I don't understand what is going on with these challenges, On the Job went smooth as silk, Geek Pride posted but there was no push from Lit, I still have people stumbling across my stories

That was fun! Everyone all good on getting their stories posted?
Yea it was, thanks for organizing again bettie!! Got my real entry posted a while ago, the sequel to my first ai era story that I‘ve been working on for a while (here!) Also ended up writing something with AI dungeon using that guide that someone posted here a little while back just for fun! (AI dungeon one) Has not been very well received lol, but to be fair it’s very different from my usual stuff and I don’t post very often. Was fun to use the ai and at the time I thought it did a pretty good job, but I also wrote it in one night and finished it at about 3am so I may not have been the clearest of mind lol. Did anyone else play with ai generation for the challenge??

I tried the AI Dungeon, and best comment was, "This is laughably bad and incoherent." You can see me getting frustrated as the characters start talking about how annoying the AI is. After a while would take its batshit crazy stuff and make them random, intrusive thoughts to the characters. Overall, great experience! 3AM...one of the muses found you & was not letting you loose it sounds like!

My stories fought getting posted the whole time. My muse just wouldn't shut up, plot bunnies filled my room leaving half gnawed plot carrots laying around for me to trip over I had to pull the plug on #3 until next year

Hey!! Excited that the story list was posted! Sorry to be a bother, but my story diagnostic test ch.2 didn’t get included in the list, I think because the name was changed when it was published so the AI era bit was at the back (don’t know why, maybe because it was in a series?) would it be possible to get that one added to the list? If it’s only one story per person, could the total success story be removed and replaced with the diagnostic test chapter 2? If it can’t be changed then no worries! Thank you! :D

I'll ask tomorrow. Need links. No limit on stories.

Hi, thanks for running the event!

I had posted a story for it (https://literotica.com/s/creepy-action-at-a-distance), but I don't see it included in the story list.

The likely cause is that I didn't put "AI Era" in the title. I saw that last year some stories didn't have the "AI Era" title-prefix, so I thought maybe that was acceptable - plus I was worried that if I prefixed it that way in a non-sci-fi category, some people might get confused and think it was a chapter and skip it (to be fair, no one really looked at it anyway  ). But I did do the other stuff (site-admin comment and story-tag).

Anyway, the title thing probably explains why it didn't show up - either that, or simply it being a non-consent story. I certainly don't want to foist it on people if it's unwanted, but just FYI: it's out there and could be added to the list if desired.

Thanks again!

Okay, so here's the process to get it corrected; make sure to edit the title and everything as well...

Here's the editing method for Lit.

Take note of the url of your story/chapter. That's the address appearing in the address bar of your browser when you view the first page of your story. You really only need the last part after the /s/ that represents your title.
Start a new submission.
Use the same title as the original ( or as much as will fit ) plus something such as *EDIT*
Fill in the same category, then fill description and keywords with placeholders, as they don't matter. ( Unless one of these things are what you're editing )
If editing the story text, paste/upload the new text in the "story text" section. You need to upload the whole story, not just the edited sections. If editing anything else, copy the "notes" section detailed below in order to fill this section.
In the "notes" section, say what you are editing. If story text, then put that. If title, then put the requested NEW title here. You can fill in edited descriptions/keywords/category above, but you'll still want to list any such changes here. It's a good idea to list the url that I mentioned in step 1. This is unique to every story/chapter, and can help eliminate the potential for human error. As mentioned above, if you are editing something other than the story text, copy what you put in the notes section to the "story text" as well. This is simply because there must be something in that section for you to submit.
Click "Review", then "Submit"

Edits are subject to the same wait time as a new story. Laurel has said that edit requests have low priority, but I have also seen edits go up in bulk in far less time than a story usually requires to post, though. So, it could be shorter, or it could be longer than the normal wait for a story to post.

Edits will not appear on the public side immediately. Wait at least 24 hours after the "edited" submission vanishes from your private author list before worrying that your changes haven't been applied. Changes may not all appear at the same time, either. Page 1 may change, while page 2 will remain the same until an hour or so later. Be patient as the system catches up.

If you edit the story in this manner ( as opposed to deleting and re-submitting ) you'll retain your votes, views, comments, etc. The only thing that will be changed is what you say that you want changed. It will not appear on the New List again.

If you wish to delete a story, use much the same method, except put something such as *DELETE* in the title, and say that you want to delete the story in question in the "notes" section.

If you wish to delete all of your stories, an entire series, etc., then use the normal delete process, but explain in the "notes" section that you want to do a mass delete, and what type.

Convoluted, but it does work. It gets a little easier as you get used to it.

Thank you. Edits seem to usually take a very long time to go through, so I've gotten to where I kind of hate to even bother posting them. (I have several "known typos" that I've just sat on because, well, is it worth it?) But I'll give it a go and maybe someday it will show up.

I agree, I have several that I need to correct, or I'll go into a fit due to OCD. I submitted a correction in May for no other reason than OCD and it took over a month. Seeing that number under Pending was agony. I posted a story just to see if it would nudge the correction along - no luck. The story went through while the correction sat and gathered dust.

Oof; sorry I don't know what else to say @mirafrida and @Duleigh . When I have my OCD moments, tend to go for a nice long hike, like 5-10 miles. Few hours out in the woods tends to be the re-centering I need. 20 miles takes all day, and I swear you start thinking like an entirely different person. Starting to read the stories tonight! (-B

I just can't wait for next year so I can put out the final episode of AI Era: Agent AI
(Nobody noticed that my protagonist changed her name numerous times, but her initials always ended up AI - was it too dumb to mention?)

Happy Winter Solstice everyone! Thought y'all might have some great thoughts on this. Was watching trailers for upcoming sci-fi's and noticed a couple of patterns...

In general current AI in sci-fi trends towards a particular genre:
  1. 5:34 M3gan - horror
  2. 17:45 Margaux - horror
  3. 30:16 Wifelike - horror
Then there's Transformers (3:05). Or maybe what I'm seeing is female AI is horrific, while male AI is super-awesome!

Another article on don't-fear-the-AI-you're-already-using-it:

There's been a lot of talk about AI lately and much of it isn't true AI, it's just clever programming. That thing that sets AI apart is Learning, and this article mentions learning through the input of millions of people trying to access websites... Which brings us to George Carlin:

“Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.”
