AI A New Era 2023 - 11010101

Just find a Litster and chat 'em up! That'll give you plenty of ammo.
That would go into the 750 word short stories with a tag of "disaster". I've chased ppl away with too many 3 syllable words and a technical question. I'll go find something. Thanks for the suggestion!

Tentatively, I'm planning on my story being about an experimental corrective nanobot swarm that was intended to force good behavior on inmates (with the idea that attitude will follow) , but which instead got repurposed by an angry researcher to turn a dickhead "alpha male" type into someone who wasn't such a toxic asshole. So it's a horror story about a guy trapped in a body that is doing and saying things he never would, seeing his life get better, and being absolutely miserable for both reasons. You know, a real feelgood story.

I have an idea that chat AI is actually powered by ghosts. Not sure how I'd make it sexual though.

Have the occasional gibberish that it posts actually be attempts by the ghosts to possess people. Then one works! Then a lot of them work!

Nice. Found an AI that wasn't programmed on women-are-stupid-and-that's-funny porn to test sexchats with. Most look like they're for hetero men, but will poke around a bit here and tell y'all what I find:

Ah yes.

The basic pleasure model. Nexus-6 replicant.

I've seen that movie before...

I'm realizing I've got 3 stories on this site where an AI is a major character - 3 of them new, and I didn't see this event or I could have tagged one of them for it.

That said only in the first is the AI also a central character and the topic is around that AI.

Well, got till September to put in another one.

That said, story wise I'm more interested in a SciFi Ai and not the modern 'Internet Bot' AIs.

I'm thinking of writing along the lines of how an AI in a story is manipulating people to achieve a certain end that it's designers wanted for society - and the tensions as people grasp with realizing they're being manipulated.

On the notion of the various 'doll' products and AIs - everytime I see those they have this weird anime-like look to them. Very freaky.

Maybe someone has already asked this but what does DOY 11010101 mean?
Open for submissions: DOY 11010101 (aka August 1, 2023)
11010101 in decimal = 213 so then DOY 213 is equivalent to 8.01.23 ??? Am I missing something obvious here?

ChatGPT is A LIAR

Having bored myself with Bing AI which is merely a chatty, annoying search engine, I went to ChatGPT to see what a REAL AI could do - It took me 10 minutes to find out that ChatGPT's primary purpose is to lie with impunity.

I asked it a simple question, simple but specialized, a question that would require a little research and intelligence to answer. I asked which locomotive was more powerful - the Union Pacific Big Boy or the DM&IR Yellowstone. Its response was that because the Big Boy was a larger more powerful locomotive, it weighed 1.2 million pounds and the Yellowstone weighed 600,000 pounds the Big Boy was more powerful.

I pointed out that they weighed almost exactly the same and ChatGPT apologized for its error. Then I asked if driver size diameter played any roll in its assessment and ChatGPT said the main difference was that the Big Boy had more driving wheels. Again I had to point out that both locomotives had the same number of driving wheels, another HUGE error on ChatGPTs part. Again ChatGPT apologized.

Having cleared that up ChatGPT then went on to explain that many things effect a steam locomotives power output including weight and number of drivers, which is when I started banging my forehead on my desk. These two locomotives are very closely matched, their main difference is their fanbase. The Big Boy has many more fan boys than the Yellowstone. If that's not ChatGPT's explanation, then I can only conclude that the AI concept is based on the MSU model. (Make Shit Up)

I then asked ChatGPT Why should any serious researcher take it serious when a google search is more accurate than ChatGPT in this simple comparison?

I understand that my errors may have led to questions about my reliability and credibility as a source of information. However, I would like to assure you that I have been trained on a large dataset of high-quality information and am capable of providing accurate and insightful responses to a wide range of questions

Nothing I asked ChatGPT was classified, everything was easily obtainable from a number of databases including Wikipedia, it would simply take Intelligence, either real or artificial to compare the data and render a verdict.

I'm going to come back and ask the exact same questions tomorrow and see if ChatGPT is capable of learning.

I would have programmed it to learn; however, the resulting drift from so many users interacting with it could be extreme, so it may have been programmed to only learn from certain people.

I would have hoped that it was programmed to learn via published fact like true intelligence and not solely from what people told it like a truant teenager making it Artificial Stupidity.

And now you have to go through it all again with ChatGPT4. At this rate, we may be on 7 by the end of the year.

Quick reminder: there are EDITORS available to beta read your stories! Look in the control panel, there's works, options, followers, etc, & EDITORS. I bring it up b/c I just tried it out for the first time. Insofar as filtering, I'm just guessing but I narrowed it down to ppl who like sci-fi, have some kind of writing experience, and enough followers that you know they've been around a while and had some good stories.

The training data cuts off sometime in 2021. It's apparently incredibly expensive to train it, so they don't do it constantly.

Though gptChat v4 can crawl links if you provide them, and will evaluate what is there. So you can provide it with current information that way.

I suppose that's a step forward, but it can't be that hard to program it to perform a perform a web search when its stumped.

However I suppose the hard part would be teaching the damn thing to recognize that it is stumped. It seemed quite proud and eager to present VASTLY incorrect data

The whole sex-bot thing has been an ongoing fantasy since I saw Cherry 2000 back in the 80's. A B-movie at best, but Melanie Griffith was all sorts of yummy back then. So I'm in on this one. Sounds like fun.

I'm actually working on a screenplay about a guy who falls in love with a purchased AI companion. Albeit, I need help with my first 30 pages (aka, my beginning).

I've asked ChatGPT to give me some feedback on the portion of the story. I also wondered what 'it' thought about sentient AI in the future.

I'm also surprised that Demon Seed is considered a romance story, per the example for the contest, since the AI in that film wanted to live, so he used Julie Christie, w/o her consent, to birth him into human form. Still, it's a movie that is inspiring.

Another piece of inspiration, off the top of my head, is Blade Runner 2049, where Ana de Armas' Joi (pronounced 'Joy') has a romance with another AI being, K, portrayed by Ryan Gosling. She possesses a human girl so she can share a kiss with K.

Of course, the first Blade Runner had Harrison Ford's Deckard in an odd romance with Sean Young's Rachael.

Anywho, I now need to brainstorm a separate, sexy story for this contest.
