he would have felt it tingle over him if he was inside the range, also it doesnt matter how well cloaked you are if u have passed the barrier of the shield Karesh will have felt it...If you were not close enough to be encompassed by it, you may feel the energy but unless it is pushing against you Karesh wont feel it.

I asked because I was considering having the elf say something like: "If you'd step back, I would be able to stand up without knocking my head on your chin." Just a little, "Holy shit, he's good" sort of thing.

Have you seen the Lord of the Rings movies? If so, do you remember the scene where Frodo, Sam, and Golem are looking at the Black Gate, and then Sam falls down the side of the hill, Frodo chases after, tries to dig him out before the soldiers get too close, then ends up tossing the cloak over the both of them, and the soldiers stand there, no more than a foot away and don't see them? That's the same thing my character has going for him, except he has the bonus of some underbrush adding to his cover.

Huh, how do you figure that was an attack? Nayil shouldn't have been able to hear it; he'd sure as hell be affected by it, but he wouldn't hear it, let alone know what caused it.

Yeah, if the elf didn't have that cloak, Thorne would have spotted him, with some difficulty of course, but spotted nonetheless.

Um, hold on a minute.

Seeing as how you like the idea of the elf being right in front of Karesh and Karesh not knowing it, we still have the dilema of the shield, which would have revealed his presence. The elf picked a spot that was outside the perimeter of the shield, and stayed there. Karesh moved towards him. What happens with the shield?
