Aine - A New RP Thread (OOC)

Ireland got controlled. And still gets. They haven't' let go of Northern Ireland yet.

The Brits wanted control of the whole island, but all they could get was what they have now. And if I recall correctly, the British government was considering handing Northern Ireland back to the Irish not to long ago.

Oh well. Ventriloquism is a nifty little trick anyways. It'll come in handy, just as it has in the past for the elf.

As for Athalan, I get the idea. So, Athalan would be Spain and Portugal combined, yes? With Germany being Aine and France representing some other land. With these references in mind, Mori would be Switzerland.

Neutral, also? :D

Well, I gave you my idea of where to put Ain in the real world, but I would like to QM to reply on this. I needed to get Ain somewhere in the world for being able to centre my role. I dare not propose Ain should be here or there or this or that big...

And yes, Athalan would be Portugal and Spain put together.

Actually, you could say Mori is neutral, considering that the Talarine wiped them out. The nation no longer exists, as well as its people--they fought to the death, every last one of them. Or at least as far as the elf knows.

That's a pretty big nation, Athalan is. Lotta land to control. And you said their borders were closed, yes?

Anyways, I must be going to bed. It's late here and I have to get up horrendously early and go to an appointment at 9 am.

If you want, I'll send you a document with a Athalan description. I use RapidShare. I just have to send you the URL for the download. It's an early version, but is fairly good.

they are 25 millions. Even with that much land to look out for, it's easy. The peninsula is mostly feral. The real hot spot to defend will be the isthmus. The rest, let it go to the beasts!

The thread in a little slow, too slow for my liking.

Sorry, couldn't resist...

not quite true, the brits had control of the whole island, and it wasnt until the 20's that they lost it, during the creation of the Irish Free State. Eamon De Valera refused to uphold the free state, because he and his supporters demanded full freedom, whereas in the free state they had to swear allegiance to the crown but otherwise had free reign. That started the Irish Civil War, which eventually led to the founding of the Irish Republic, which is all the counties of ireland minus 6 of the 9 counties of Ulster. Northern Ireland is a bit misleading, because the northernmost point of the Island is actually in the republic. my own clan hails from that far northern part of ireland, between lough swilly and lough fadda called tyr conaill in Co. Donegal, one of the three counties of Ulster that refused british rule.

and if we're comparing this world to europe, Eiriada, the riada's primary land would be in the british isles, only connected by an isthmus to the mainland.

Why thank you Ren for the history lesson. It's a good thing we have someone around here who has such an interest in Ireland.

To Qyron: there really isn't a need for you to send me the info on Athalan. If I have any more questions, it's easier for me to ask you rather than mess with doing file downloading and all that nonsense. Thanks for the offer, anyways.

Mantra: That was...how shall I say?...stupidly funny.

Sorry a whole bunch was said since i was in here last...me being Australian and all, we spell things like the British do...colour, night etc, however, seeing as Jedi said we can't spell properly can I say that yanks can't always pronounce things properly? ie: Aussie is pronounced ozzy not ossy etc *cheeky grin*

*sigh* I love ireland...never been there but my father was born there in County Cork...and oddly enough his last name was cork...which mine is not lol :) being illegitimate and all *laugh* I would love to go there some day though.

It really sounds cliché, when I read it again...:D

Qyron, you ready to meet someone else? If so, I think I can set up an encounter with Kalika's character. She's in a stream, Nayil is in a stream, and the elf is hiding. With yours and Kalika's permission, I could have the elf take up a position where he could see both Kalika's character and Nayil. Of course, that would mean the two are rather close, and Kalika's character would have heard the brawl with the pig.

So, Qyron, Kalika, you up to it?

im so in :)

If Qyron is up for it, I will put a post up about hearing the pig etc etc and big man being in the stream...man that big is going to be hard to miss :)

would you like me to include the big guy appearing in the stream or leave that out for after your post?

It's good for me. I also made the scene taking that in consideration, not so straight forward but it will be good.

Does any one has any comment on the scene? It take me a lot of work to come up with it and it felt really good to get it just like that!

Sorry for not replying immediately, but I was doing some final editing on the text.

Leave it out. When I post, I intend to have a bit of a u-bend in the stream, with Nayil on one side, and your character on the other, and dense underbrush blocking the view of each other. However, the elf will most likely have climbed up a tree to where he could see Nayil, and inadvertantly, Karesh.

Qyron: good job on it. One or two spelling errors, but it's acceptable.

point them out to me, please! I want that thing perfect! It cost me 2 hours of good sleep.

JK, take in consideration kalika's PC familiar. The cat would have been startled by the fight and was already on the look out for any intruders. I just hope I don't end up getting myself into another fight and the cat seems dangerous and fierce.

hummm... BRING IT ON!

done and done :D

Damn, that was quick.

Qyron, I'll see what I can do regarding the cat. As for the errors, I'll check again and let you know. Oh, and you also need to space a paragraph. You should be able to see it on your own.

You' talking about the last one, with the final brawl between Nayil and the pig, right? My mistake; I use a text processor and in Portuguese, paragraphs tend to be a lot longer. I'll correct it.

I'm working on my reply now, and once I have it up, I'm heading to bed.

Qyron: "trough" should be "through."

done and done :D

Kalika, does the familiar tend to be openly aggressive or just defensive? And how about its magical capabilities? Are they "loud", easy to notice, when it uses them, or subtle?

And the spell your PC cast? Did it take a lot of energy to be harnessed in its casting or is it a "silent" spell?

Thanks. Post it and go to bed. Tomorrow is a national holiday here so I won't be showing up around these parts, but I'll write my reply and I'll post Wednesday morning.

The cast is starting to gather up...
