Have any of you read Robert Graves' "I Claudius"?
There must be a German translation of this classic.

I wish I could understand this; it looks interesting.

Reference to the US Constitution's 1st Amendment in particular.
And some maintain that the Germans are an unfriendly people.
People of my father's generation incinerated them by the thousands on that basis. That is what they were told to do. We argue about this constantly. And the Japanese also. The US committed war crimes that they then put their enemies on trial for.
There is... no excuse for dropping an atomic bomb on a city. That is genocide.
I do wish that I might have read Hermann Hesse in the original.
Some translations are good, but some are very bad.

Hallöle.
Moin.

It would be. I'm sure of that.Me, too.
I really wish you all could understand this. That would be sooo entertaining!
Honestly? From an American viewpoint, German speech laws are Hitlerian. Restricting speech is restricting speech, however you paint it.Hi Byron, it's just about some minor complaints against the new moderator of the German Lit Forum. Actually some people have slightly different opinion about what's allowed here and what not, particularly what the 1st Amendment means in terms of free speech in this forum
As an American, I have to side with free expression, no matter. Government cannot regulate what people are "allowed" to say, ever. The post you replied too contains some ... some insults against this new mod. The discussion is very emotional, so to say.
I believe I've stated my position. It's pretty funny discussion, because there are two strong parties here existing. The one is strictly pro the new mod and welcomes his appearance, the other ones damn him to hell.
Hey, Dusty! Pleased to meet you.Guns are still smoking and it's not decided yet who will win the war. Take cover buddy.
Greetings
Dusty

If someone wants to call a black person "nigger," well then let them. Let them expose themselves. Don't force it underground.

Yes, I know them. And they infest the GB constantly.Byron In Exile, thats not our problem at the moment. If someone calls someone, what ever, let it be. But if this guy quotes his own post 10 times in a row, it`s becoming spam in my eyes.
In case of the german board, the same guys repeat this kind posting not just in one thread, but in all, that are activ. When I am looking for new posts, I see 20, but 18 of them are from 2 or 3 guys who are quoting them selfs or each other, in a trollstyl.
I guess you know what internet trolls are?
Yes, I know them. And they infest the GB constantly.
It's an American thing: we let assholes expose themselves.
We let them say what they think, and then we know what they are.
We don't use government to regulate what people can say.
Europe is different. In Europe, government regulates what people can say. They can go to jail for saying things.

Please keep this a SAFE place for conversation. Try not to ridicule someone just because you think their fetish is weird. Yours might seem equally weird to someone else!
Have fun!

@Krystanx (Zu deinem Posting 382)
SO ISSES!
