Just been reading the thread..... this used to be one of the liveliest, most welcoming, amusing and supportive thread on lit. No longer sadly. Many long-standing posters on here have pretty much given up on it, as it's become very unwelcoming, snipy and full of conversations that effectively ignore others attempting to join in.

Just an observation....

I've not had enough time to write a decent reply before but yeah, this more or less summarises my thoughts.

I enjoy the banter in this thread, but at the end of they day we're chatting on a forum about sex. No one bats an eyelid when we talk about things like bins and crumpets (I do know there are some pervs out there who have these as fetishes ) but to come down .like a tonne of bricks on someone using the forum for it's intended purpose is poor form.

Each to their own, but there's enough nastiness and hate in the world at the moment, so please let's try and keep this a little haven where we can talk about refuse collections and sex nicely.

There are few enough lady visitors to this thread (and probably Lit as a whole) and they should be welcomed with open arms and allowed to express their views / wants freely (and if they want to talk about meeting a casual FWB or "scratching an itch" then let them - it doesn't mean you have to respond)

Maybe there is a compromise? Like this is a personals thread and this thread started as a “who is UK based” kind of thread and slowly evolved into a British culture and “let’s celebrate the local authority doing what I pay my taxes for” extravaganza.

I suppose the reality is, if you want to “e-meet” here that’s ok? But if your preferred dunk is a custard cream (yeah, I know, the crack cocaine or biscuits - I am such a McVitie hoe) that is also ok?

Really posts of both nature should be fine? But maybe two threads in separate locations placates all?
