The bins have been emptied and the tree stump removers are at work. Lorry arrived with trailer carrying a heavy looking, radio controlled, gadget with caterpillar tracks and a strong looking pneumatic arm with what looked like a heavy duty angle grinder on the end. First they called up the previous guys who turned up in another two lorries, because they needed more kerb stones moved. They did that then drove off. Then the real business began. Three large roundels were cut from the stump by chain saw till it was about a foot above ground level. Then the giant angle grinder started to make short work of the remaining stump. Most of the time spent has been shovelling up chippings into a wheelbarrow and depositing them in their lorry. They are still chipping away at the stump below ground level.

I googled how I feel and AI suggested I was suffering "news fatigue". I think it's correct, so now I'll google how to fix it. I'll report back if I can bear to open the browser in case there's some wank about trump, ukraine, gaza, undersea cables, abortion, transphobia, sand eels and ash die-back doomsday shite.
