It’s less “debate” and more “therapy session with insults.” You’ll notice the pattern: if they can’t refute your point, they’ll diagnose you, label you, psychoanalyze your childhood, and declare you morally unclean. No rebuttal, no counter-evidence, just feelings and character assassination. It’s not that they choose ad hominem; it’s that once the script runs out, the only move left is to flip the board and call you names. In left-wing debate culture, attacking the argument is optional, attacking the person is mandatory.
