Morning all....

Sierra, I did my student teaching at Kenilworth School back in 74 I think. Arnolds Pickles was on Van Buren just west of 16th St. I think it was like 14th street. And I am still at Gilbert and University.

Shadow, Walace and Ladmo... cool, I worked with them and Lew King at the State fair and other events doing my Magic.

Saguaro, That capt and boat ride closed in 72, the year before I had my magic store there.

Raquel, those two places sound great for solitude and shooting pictures.. would love to know more sometime.

LOL... We were probably at Kenilworth at the same time! my kindergarten teacher was Ms. LaLonde, and the gym teacher was Mrs. Cosantino... those are the only two that i remember... lol.

Boy, Kenilworth has sure changed over the years...

Other than playing with the layout of my erotic Xanga, then deleting it all together I haven't been up to much. I'm having a nasty case of writers block so right now I'm just reading the forum and the stories. heh.

I still have a tatt to get. Problem is I don't want to walk in and just get something hanging on the wall and everytime I go through my own drawings I end up disgusted and frustrated. I want my tatt to mean something and be unique but I can't think of an image to save my friggin' life. I do know I will make the parlor play the new fear Factory album at maximum fucking volume though. Archtype kicks all kind of ass(Fear Factory is second only to the godlike industrial band Strapping Young Lad).

On the upside I'll be getting my tongue pierced the same day I get my tatt (if that day ever comes). My girlfriend talked me into it...well, she fluttered her eyelashes after I said no and said "Please" in this really cute, almost anime like, voice. So, I tossed my notion of "If you need tongue modifications to help oral stimulation then you shouldn't be doing it in the first place" view straight out the window and caved. The prize I recieved for caving though was well worth it.

Anyhow, enough ranting from me. Just saying "hello" to the Arizonians....I'm gonna go watch Aqua Teen.

I completely forgot about the wooden nickels. Our Sambo's closed down around '79 or so, and turned into a different restaurant that later burned down, then turned into part of a motel parking lot. I want my Sambo's stuffed tiger back!

Eh, I was way too tired to get tattooed this weekend
I think it's cool that you want to put some thought into your tattoo, and not get something off the wall. My problem only seems to be having enough skin and time to put all the things I want, and pacing myself so I can still get more stuff in 10 or 20 years.

Tongue piercings are fun, makes me want to put jewelry back in mine.

Sierra, I was doing the student teaching there at kenilworth for a third or fourth grade class... was only there about half a semester, and I convinced my advisor that I needed to be doing my student teaching at the college level, as at that time I was planning on teaching in high school or college...

right now, I might even wish I had chosen that carreer path.. lol

DW, that would almost be impossible.. the corporation was bankrupt back in the 80's I believe, and all assets were sold to pay creditors. And with the corporate trademark being disolved, the owners kept the rights and no one can legally use the name for a restaurant.

If someone is.. it isnt a part of the original chain, and probably would be liable for infringement lawsuits.

My brother was one of the CPA's that went to all the restaurants and closed them up. and they had to remove ALLL of the logo's and signage. Someone might have bought a sign (ilagally) and who knows.. but I seriously doubt it is being used for a legal restaurant..

but hey... stranger things have happened..

What is the last dream you had that you remember?

The other night I drempt that I was in a restaurant. The waiter was a friend of mine. He fell forward onto me and said,

"Oh my god, I think you just took my virginity!"

Then the next day he gave me a flowery card that read:

Anyhow, it was funny. My friend is sooo very gay.

That Sambo's looks pretty froo froo.

My fave greasy spoon diner joint was Suzie's Hardtime Cafe' in Atlanta Georgia. Suzie would cook you up your eggs while smokin a cigarette. And most the time you got whatever she felt like fixin' you. I was sad when Suzie retired and sold the place--it turned pretty froo froo after that. But she let me have her old stoneware plates and coffee cups, and yes, even the wooden grits spoon!

yes, I know of that one.. but the Menu I saw last time I was there wasnt anything like the chain, and even the signage wasnt the same.. but I agree, it is called SAMBO's, and yes I understand it is owned by the grandson... too bad the "froo -froo" was used instead of the original motif.. but hey.. in Santa Barbara, you cant do retro and make money... lol
