I meant for it to make you laugh. Actually, I'm not in any pain. But I do look like I got cold-cocked by some left-handed redneck at the local saloon.

The good news is that I don't have to go to work today if I don't want to. I will probably go in anyway for a couple hours just to make sure the wheels aren't falling off, so to speak.
Well don't push yourself too much. Try to take it easy.

is it vacation time yet??? I need some escape from the valley... gotta get back to the mountains. Though I do miss being near a coast!

Just thought I would drop in and say hello :)

Well welcome and hello to you! :)

60hzhum - hope the recovery continues to go well... seems like a good enough reason to take a week off! at least, I wish...

happy friday all! finally, the weekend, never too soon...

Thought I'd stop in and say hi.

I lived in the Phoenix area for a few years during the 80's.

I miss all the racing, speed shops, working on the cars.

Is Bill Johnson's Big Apple still in business? That place used to have the best breakfast. Sawdust on the floor was a nice touch too.

Is that on Van Buren? Must still be going - never been though...

Wow! Lot's of people up early this fine Friday. Good moring all.

I haven't been to Bill Johnson's Big Apple in many years but it's still there. I used to go there as a kid with my parents. They have five locations in the valley including the original one on E. VanBuren and the one on W. Indian School. None here in Lonesome Valley though.

Happy Weekend!!

Goodmornin'!

It was sad to hear Manzanita Raceway closed.

Anybody know if Canyon Raceway is still open?

I used to love going to Firebird as well.

Good times

Do you remember the Twister at Mananita? Not to forget Jim Wood and the Flying Ford from San Diego. Owned by Ben Sanders and the engine builder ME...... Those were the racing days - I'll never forget them.

What classes did those guys race?

We raced Pro Stock, which was between Street Stock and Late Models. The last time I stopped off to visit, one of the guys was running an IMCA modified. That was in 2002. I was on vacation from Korea then.

We raced in the late 50's and early 60's Modified Sportsman. If you changed the tail section it would be a sprint car. Days of Hank Arnold and Jim Wood.

That is awesome! I wish I had a chance to run sprints. Have you ever raced? I was in the area during the 80's. One of the guys I knew there entered his car in the World of Wheels car show. It was his first car so he wanted to do something special. I walked around the place the first day and started talking to this calender girl. Well I talked her into coming over after the show that night and pose next to the car for us. The driver kept telling me I was his hero that whole year. LOL

Most amazing sunset last night with the thinnest sliver of a new moon hanging on the horizon - one of the things I love about Arizona!

hope everyone has a good start to the week!

Canyon is still open. Usually pretty busy on Saturday nights. Sand Drags once in a while too.

Hi there! All is well with me. Same with you?

Indeed. Just hoping my brain can adjust to my new vision after minor eye surgery.

What I meant by weirdos was a reference to the real world. I'm not surprised that you were the first to chime in though.
