Army Men In Hell: The Ultimate Wargame

It's up later than I planned, but it's there..I've told you what you'll find let's see how you handle it, and don't worry there will be plenty more combat soon.

Enjoy...

Awww...no explosives stockpile or extra ammo for Boomer's weapons. :(

I will post an in character thread, but please tell me what some of your first impulses would be once you arrive. You just "appeared" outside the open gate with the items you have. What do you want to do? Are any of you going to lead the remaining NPC troopers? What are you looking for and what do you want? After I ready your posts we shall begin with a more thorough description.

Are the answers to those questions supposed to go in the IC or OOC?

OOC is fine, and the equipment and items are just what are in the town. More equipment will become available shortly...If you can take it.

Check the surroundings, get a general layout of the area and defensive options, supplies, things like that. Most likely avoid the other troopers, seeing how he hates people.

Okay so post it and see what happens....it will be interesting.

Hm...if I recall correctly, the little plastic army men toys were mostly WWII - Vietnam era gear, right? With my guy carrying a weapon that is definitely not from WWII, would he still be decked out in WWII gear, i.e. not modern kevlar body armor and helmet?

Most are, but I've had modern and in the wargaming magazines I read I've seen all different era's for plastic soldiers, from Napoleon to Custer's Last Stand. I just picked the most common era, but I think it is safe to say your little guys have seen these other weapons used, and know how to use them.

So, let me rephrase my question: would my character, obviously being a modern era soldier, be wearing modern kevlar body armor and helmet or would he be wearing whatever the ground pounders of WWII/Vietnam wore?

He'd be wearing modern era gear...accept maybe for the helmet. For some reason they never updated that, but no reason it couldn't be Kevlar. I hope that helps.

Not at all...write down your character I'll read it later after work.

I didn't plan on any Jet fighters, but attack helicopters and transports for sure...write it up.

Although it's not explicitly stated, I think it is implied that everyone here is in the Green Army, right? And that everyone is also in Charlie company too. I made a point in my post of indicating the uniform color, changing it from the desert tan that U.S. soldiers are wearing in Afghanistan to the woodland green that they would wear if they were in Europe or someplace with similar terrain. I think that when they can, everyone should make a point of indicating their uniform, not only for showing which army they are in but also their era.

OK I'll do so when 3 moves from the hill.

How do you like my new sig Jedi? Small enough? :p

I'm gonna wait to see what he puts up before replying to your character. That'll give Brains time as well to act as he sees fit.

Just let me know if the armor is too much. It doesn't have shields or anything like that, just the Dragonscale armor. Yes it's real, but experimental at the moment.

I was thinking of an old prop driven A-1 skyraider, but a Cobra will work too :)

Name: Cliff Mitchell
Rank: CW2
MOS: AH-1 Cobra Attack Helicopter. Callsign "Snakedriver"
Equipment: AH-1 Cobra SN:34-556-8 "Bad Bitch" M1911 pistol. K-BAR knife.
Unit: 1-9 Air Cavalry, detached to support Charlie Company.
Faction: Green
Bio: Cliff began life as a plastic paratrooper. At 5 years old he was one of the most experienced in the toy box. He's fought it all Germans, Japs, Commies of every stripe, even dinosaurs and aliens, but nothing prepared him for the hell of Vietnam. Luckily he was only a week in country when he was promoted to flying an attack helicopter for the Cav. But his greatest battle was yet to come.....

That would be correct same company and you're all American soldiers...be it American toy soldiers. If not the actual old olive drab some American pattern. We will have more people (NPC's and players I hope), so there will be a time people will become squad leaders.

And let's just say for simplicity sake that everyone has a good old fashion walkie talkie, with the RTO still there to provide longer range communication. This should make linking up and communicating with each other in the beginning easier, and in combat vital. After all as a kid I always assumed that my guys could communicate.

Dragonscale armor....I'd have to say no to that one simply because they aren't making it for toys at the moment (aside from the fantasy variety), so you're stuck with Kevlar like everyone else, but keep in mind this is action movie Kevlar. It takes a lot of punishment.

I love it, cool idea, I love the background, but the chopper you picked. Would I be imposing to much to ask for you to pilot the Bell UH-1 Iroquois "Huey". It is the same family as the Cobra, but allows room for passengers and gunners. It can be modified to carry missiles and is a tough old craft. Let me know.
