Well, since both would do half of the house, it would take Jim and Bob technically 2 and a half hours each.

Jim would take two hours to paint half and Bob would take three except that Jim would help him for the last half hour to cut the total time down to 2.5 hours.

Now if it were a totally different person instead of Jim and Bob working together, I would have no clue.
