I agree completely with you...I do not want my mind to go...if my body continues to break down...my mind can find ways to make up for that..but if my mind goes my body will not be able to make up for it

I volunteered in nursing homes as a teenager, and I often come across people with dementia in my line of work. The best ones I've seen are the ones who are "pleasantly confused" and not bothered by it one bit. The worst I've seen are individuals with end-stage Alzheimer's who need 24-hour care because they can no longer feed or look after themselves, and who spend the majority of the day sitting in a chair and staring at nothing in particular (or perhaps at something that the rest of us can't see). I always pray that they've managed to construct a pleasant fantasy world in their minds that they can dwell in, rather than feeling lonely/confused/scared and not understanding what's going on around them.
