Ask Velvet ~ An agony aunt for the fast food generation.

The dungeon was intended to be a chat thread for kinky SRP writers to swap ideas and seek co-writers rather than a playroom but it's never possible to control these things and I wouldn't want to even if I could. You seem to be enjoying it over there today.

I haven't read that book.

My nic is Velvet.

My mistake. I meant no offence.

True; I've been enjoying myself today.

You're welcome to join the party, of course. I'm feeling kinky today and I'm eager to ear and discuss about it with someone more experienced than me.

The room is now available for conversations, as all slaves seem to be resting now.:)

I must admit it feels extremely releasing this new experience. It makes me feel strangely - I don't now how to put it correctly - alive.

If you have the chance, look up for those books. I assume you know the work of Anne Rice from the "Interview with the Vampire" or "Queen of the Damned". That particular work is more bent on erotica and BDSM themes.

I'm starting to read through it again.

edit

And did you peeked again at that SRP thread I opened the other day? I reviewed some details of the setting.

I haven't looked at the thread but the story isn't a concept that I'm drawn to. I'm sure you'll find a writer for it soon. They're a pretty open minded lot over in the SRP forum.

Okay so I want to buy a nice sleepwear/lingerie outfit to surprise my boyfriend with. I will not have seen him for 4 months by that time. I am kind of self conscious so nothing too drastic, but was thinking some type of baby doll. Any suggestions on colors, style and materials? Any advice of where to get something like this. One problem is that I look kind of young (I am 20, but people think I am like 15) so I don't want to have it make me look younger (or in fact look weird buying it ).

Thanks alot.

Oh I know exactly where you're coming from. I'm 29 and look about 16. Gives me no end of grief. In fact, it was my 29th birthday yesterday and I still had to show my ID to order wine in a restaurant and the age limit is 18 here.

I'm guessing from that you're in the USA? As I'm British I can't say I know a great deal about shopping in the states. Lingeriemart have some cute babydolls and 1sexynight also have some nice stuff.

If you're concerned that a babydoll might look too 'cute' because of your stunning, youthful appearance, there are other sexy bits of this and that you can wear that are a little more adult and sophisticated. I think that fabrics and colour depend a lot on your personal colouring but all women look sexy and vampy in something black. Dark reds and midnight blues are quite safe, flattering colours too I think.

I don't think there are many red blooded, hetero men for whom an outfit can be 'too sexy.' As long as he knows he's the only one who gets to see your wanton side, your guy should be over the moon.

Well he is British and I am going to England to see him when I study there in the fall. Are there any stores you can recommend while I am there?

Now you're talking. Although I do think that shopping in the states before you travel will probably be cheaper.

La Senza do pretty stuff and they have loads of high street stores. Anne Summers have lingerie, costumes, toys, you name it.

If you're on a budget, keep an eye out for New Look, Peacocks and Primark stores as they have some very pretty lingerie that's not pricey at all.

I was lurking in a thread the other day and came across the following acronyms: INTJ and INTP. I couldn't decipher the meaning based on the context, so I was wondering if you could shed some light. Thank you kindly.

Do personality types fit the context? INTJ and INTP are two of the Myers-Briggs types, according to google. Clicky.

I don't think so. I believe they were acronyms relating to different types of power exchanges, but I couldn't figure out the meaning.

I wasn't familiar with the acronyms either but they are indeed Myers-Briggs personality types as fas as I know.

INTJ = Introversion, iNtuition, Thinking, Judging

INTJs, or "Mastermind Rationals", are natural strategists, better than any other type at brainstorming approaches to situations. They are natural, but not eager, leaders, only stepping forward when it becomes obvious to them that they are the best for the job. Strong-willed and very self-assured, they may make this decision quickly, as they tend to make all decisions. But though they are decisive, they are always open-minded to new evidence and new ideas, flexible in their planning to accommodate changing situations. They are excellent at judging the usefulness of ideas and will apply whatever seems most efficient to them in accomplishing their clearly envisioned goals. To INTJs, what matters is getting it done--but ALSO learning the principles of how to get it done efficiently and well, as on a "professional" quality level--and they have a tendency to give little thought to personal cost in getting there.

INTP = Introversion, iNtuition, Thinking, Perceiving

INTP types are quiet, thoughtful, analytical individuals who don't mind spending long periods of time on their own, working through problems and forming solutions. They are very curious about systems and how things work, and are frequently found in careers such as science, architecture and law. INTPs tend to be less at ease in social situations and the "caring professions," although they enjoy the company of those who share their interests. They also tend to be impatient with the bureaucracy, rigid hierarchies, and politics prevalent in many professions, preferring to work informally with others as equals. INTPs' extraverted intuition often gives them a quick wit, especially with language, and they can defuse the tension in gatherings by comical observations and references. They can be charming, even in their quiet reserve, and are sometimes surprised by the high esteem in which their friends and colleagues hold them.

I think that the inference is that INTJs are more likely to be alpha or PYL and INTPs are more passive, less competitive and better suited as pyls. Beyond that, I really couldn't guess.

Ah, so Ericka was correct. And now that you've added the above, they make much more sense, given the context of the posts. Thank you kindly.

hi velvet, you answered a question on a thread recently for me, about the gagging thing?

do you think me getting into submission is a lost cause? i like aspects of it, a lot but i refuse to be called degoratory names such as slut( degoratory to me in my opinion) and be told im worthless, is there room in submissive play without this? i seem to be drawn more towards the not-in-control, tied up feeling and i like the slave idea, but will not tolerate humilation. does this conflict too much?

advice much appreciated!

Hi there NE

There are many aspects to submission and dominance. This is one of the reasons that us freaks over on the BDSM Forum have so many labels for each other; sub, slave, bottom, masochist, girl, switch, dom, master, top, sadist, daddy etc. We now throw in the terms PYL (Pick Your Label = Domly type) and pyl (subly type) as blanket terms so that people don't feel excluded from discussions.

BDSM is a kind of smorgasbord of activities and you just pick out the things you want to do and then seek a partner who complements those interests. You want to be blindfolded, have your wrists tied with a silk scarf and be teased with a feather and the contents of the fridge while your SO whispers sweet nothings in your ear? That's still BDSM as it includes bondage and an exchange of control.

Not everyone lives at the sharp end of the spectrum by any means. There are loads of people on the forum who love being dominated but hate pain or love being flogged half to death but will burst into tears if you call them a dirty whore. It's all about what's right for you (and what's legal and SSC - safe, sane and consensual).

So it's perfectly possible to enjoy BDSM play without any form of humiliation or name calling involved. Some people like being called things like 'pet' or 'little one' because it denotes affection and protectiveness on the part of the PYL.

I know there's a lot of fucked up jargon floating around but have a nosey around the forum and you'll be surprised how many posters stick to the shallow end of kink and thoroughly enjoy themselves.

Hope that helps. :rose:

hi thats great thanks velvet, seems like its a big wide world out there! guess ill have fun exploring lol!

Velvet,

Any recommendations for places to look for support for the polyamorous? I'm looking into it and I want to find a specific place to discuss my questions and concerns. It's all a mess to me and I'm trying to straighten out what I think about it without going crazy. Somedays it sounds like a great idea and some days I wonder.

God grief, a broken wooden spoon and you still want a beating? Kudos to you.

Lovehoney are a company I've used before. They're discreet and reliable. They are also fairly inexpensive so trying different toys isn't too much of a risk.

Whip This one's quite good because it's got lots of thongs for a stingy feel that can be as mild or intense as you want. As it's rubber it's also easy to clean and disinfect.

Spanking paddle I prefer something slightly flexible over a wooden spoon and this one is pretty good.

High street sex shops tend to overcharge because they have high overheads so I get everything through mail order. I've used Lovehoney for a few years now and haven't been disappointed yet. They also have veggie/vegan friendly toys if (like me) you prefer not to use leather.

Have fun :rose:

Darling Velvet -

Do I see The Dark Knight again on my own since no one else will watch it with me (I've seen it 5 different times now with probably 16 people total BUT I STILL WANT TO SEE CHRISTIAN BALE TAKE OFF HIS SHIRT FOR THREE SECONDS AGAIN!) or do I risk arrest and dismemberment by Warner Brothers and download it online?

With love,
Natalie

Don't think dismemberment is the standard penalty. ;)

Personally I'm more of a Heath fan but loved the film and am planning to see it a second time on the big screen.

Before a film is released on DVD, downloads are generally very poor quality as they are copies that have been recorded inside a cinema with audience sound effects and so on. Some bits of the movie are on YouTube but again, the copies are poor.

My advice would be to await the DVD release and buy a copy of your very own. Pre-ordering is a good idea, given the likely demand.
