ATL May Litogether

The only thing about having two photogs is overlapping and tripping over each other in small spaces, but whatever. If kitty wants to shoot, we can work something out. My intention was to buy several dispos cameras for candid use by the whole group (in the common areas and during the dinners) and then I was gonna take qualities of the play. Homburg suggested we have a photog in each room. If that is what everyone wants then by all means.

Speaking of consent. I will be drawing up photography waivers. It was suggested we have consent forms for play, however I have been advised that to draw up a consent form for this event would place me in an organizing status. Regardless of the consent, I would be found liable if something (god forbid) happened. So lets all remember we are responsible for ourselves and no one else is liable for anything we place ourselves in.

Yeah, a photographer for each room sounds good. Kitty can just not take pics at all if that's what we decide. Doesn't matter with us. We just thought we'd offer to do *something* rather than just show up and take up space. :p

I'll be glad to do a bit of Topping as well if anybody's interested. I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none, but I'll be glad to offer my services if necessary. Though if I'm going to do that, please catch me before I go to the bottom, or I'll be too damned loopy to be good for anything. :)

One of my subs is a photographer.

What is she gonna do?

Photo-poly?

Are We All Photogrophers?

I see a trend here. I have a brand new Cannon 40D.. my new little baby. Can't find my bloody tripod though. I'll have it with me for family picks during the day & candid shots but not planning on taking any at night as I think I may just end up with photos of other people holding up cameras to their eyes!

Okay... so people and locations are looking like

Marquis family: GA Terrace
Gigi: GA Terrace suite
Twysted: GA Terrace suite guest
Homburg: GA Terrace suite guest (if able to drive down)
ADR & Des: The green Escort by the Holiday Inn
Fury:
Bibunny & Bikitty:
nh23:
EG & janey: Marriott Courtyard - 1132 Techwood Dr NW
TeachMeSir, with FaerieFire, SKL & DS: The GT
SirWinston:
raven2, sprinkles 22, skme: The GT
WriterDom: popping in for Sat ??

I gotta deal through Marriott Rewards :D The Courtyard on Techwood is 1.1 miles from the GT according to MapQuest. That's close enough for me!

janey is now a question mark  because her company policy just changed to to require managers to work the first and last weekends of each month. she hasn't worked the first weekend of any month since she started working there and she's hopping mad. It ain't set in stone, or she may get someone to cover for her, so we'll see.

We meant to mention this earlier, but Kitty's going to be bringing her *good* camera to the play party.

Yeah, I was going to say that this morning when I posted about us might having to come back to AL but was in a rush so I just said I would wait til later.

BiBunny said:
But I know Homburg has mentioned he'd like some pics of his ropework and things like that.

That's why I had thought about it. And I figured others might want me to, too.

It was my intention to set up for this event, but if Kitty would rather then by all means.

No, no. It's your event, you do it (or whoever). I will be bringing my camera though because I know Bunny and NH has requested that I do their photos. But other than them I won't be taking pictures of anyone/ anything.

... But other than them I won't be taking pictures of anyone/ anything.

Uh huh... I see how you are now... no pictures of the evil, twisted sadistic man... *nodnodnodnod*

No candy for you, naughty little girl! :p

I'll be in the green ford too.

LOL.

I'm sorry to hear that Janey might not make it. In the little time I got to spend with you two she just radiates happiness and warmth. I'd love to get to know her better. I hope it works out.

:rose:

I think we need a photographer just to take pictures of all the photographers.

Cool, cool. Snooze should be coming down Saturday, so roomies for Friday it is and then Saturday I'm gonna cut out on ya and stay with him. We're thinking Georgian Terrace as the vast majority seem to be there so it shouldn't be too big a deal to shift my stuff around. Aquarium!!!! I'll definately join up for that. If there are penguins it will make my week and if there are jellyfish I'm all in :) I'm really looking forward to meeting you and am so glad it worked out for you to come.

Hi! Not meaning to butt into your thread, but just wanted to mention to anyone planning to go to the Aquarium........it's amazing (and yes, there are penguins and jellyfish), but you'll need to make a reservation, and for Saturdays it fills up pretty quick. I hope you all have a great time!

Yay, heed the (kill-joy) voice of reason!

I've noticed that there will be, it would seem, quite a few random cameras floating about.

And it got me to thinking: Perhaps so many shutterbugs might pose somewhat of a problem in that this is a closed, private event and in being so there is an assumed and expected level of privacy.
It's more of a mindset really as we'll have anywhere between 10 to 20 people meandering about as the evening progresses.

Gigi has quite a bit of excperience (we're speaking professionally retained by a recording and touring artist, etc.) and is quite capable of being mobile and available if a certain situation or scene is wishing to be photographed.
Also she'll be wandering about taking candid shots, etc.
This way anyone wishing prints can simply ask one person knowing that they were all done with respect to the subjects.
She plans to have release forms to be signed to ensure the privacy of those who do not wish to be photographed.
Some attending have never been to such an event and the tension and nerves will be heightened (but in a good way I think) enough as it is.

And as at any event, if you have flashes going off indiscriminantly and at the wrong time it may offset the mood, etc. ( y'know what I mean Vern?)

Bring them for the dinner, bring them for the non-play areas and for EG's naked twisted game most assuredly! But perhaps we can retain the mood and allure of play in the play areas by using only one camera and one photographer.

We're a democracy. Does anyone see this as too restrictive?

My apologies for stepping on any toes. I didn't know Gigi even took pictures, much less that she planned on taking them for this event.

Well, excuse the hell out of my country ass for not knowing How Things Are Done.

Ok..i'm putting myself back in as a maybe for this event... I won't know for sure until a couple of weeks.

Anyway..

Gigi...Not to sound harsh but do you realize the legal liability you are setting yourself up for if something goes "wrong" in the suite? Correct me if I am wrong but the reservation is in your name right? That means anything that goes on in that suite (legal or illegal) is your responsibility. "Group sex parties" are generally frowned upon by law enforcement. (And let's face it...this would be considered a "sex party.")

As for the issue of taking pictures, again, the more photographers you have the more potiential legal hassles you have, especially with the amount of people that are going to be scening. It will be increasingly hard to make sure that no one is in the shots other than the people that consented to being photographed.

Firstly, I am totally stoked that you might be able to come. I would love the chance to meet with you.

I do understand the legal ramifications what could come to pass. Precautions have and will be taken to protect myself entirely. Thank you for your concern

As far as the photography is concerned originally, I had always intended to be the soul photog on site simply because I didn't think anyone else would be interested in the task. By taking on that role, I forfeit my play card for the night. When several other folks offered to shoot, I wasn't sure how to exactly handle the situation, so I consulted a few of the attendees as well as my lawyer. While I am very aware of the amazing talents of some of you, (Marquis's Lo, Kitty, TMS) I have been legally advised to either be the soul photog on site or have just one other person do it instead. Other photogs are encouraged to take common room candids, restaurant/dinner candids, and day candids at your leisure, but to refrain from any photography in scenes or in the play rooms. As you and Twysted have pointed out, there are several legal ramifications that could come about with more than one photog, so I feel this is the best course of action.

If there is someone who is dead set on shooting and will feel completely left out by not contributing in this way, please let me know privately and we will arrange for you to take on this responsibility both legally and personally. I will then find another way to contribute that evening. Even if 'we' can not legally have anyone sign consent forms for play activities, (legally that would make me responsible even with consent being waved since it would officially place me in the contractor/hostess position) I will be providing wavers for photography. The waver will simply state that all photos are the soul property of B.N. Glaze (or who ever ends up being the photographer) and will be handled discreetly and at the will and request of both the subjects and photographer. No use of the photos will be made with out proper consent and all photos will be water marked and copyrighted for legal purposes. Etc etc etc. If anyone does not want to be in photos, they will need to express that desire on the waver and do their best to avoid the lens. (don't jump into shots, you know, things like that) If anyone has any concerns or questions, please feel free to fire away.

I also want to address another issue here while I have a chance. This might actually be a buzz kill for some, but hey what else am I good for? I am fairly certain all attendees are of legal age, however it does need to be said (over kill, I know) everyone who attends the play activities must be 18 years of age or older. (I hope to God none of you are younger. If you are you shouldn't be on this forum) I hope I don't have to explain why this has to be the case. In addition, since I am not sure if we will be having anyone under 21 attending, I think it is best that we forbid any alcohol from the suite for Saturday night. No one wants to be a contributor to delinquency so lets just keep the play dry. Also I think it would be better that all players not be drinking or drunk regardless. I mean who wants a inebriated play partner? If anyone objects please say so now so we can hash this out.

Well, excuse the hell out of my country ass for not knowing How Things Are Done.

Don't be offended, Bunny. Twysted is just trying to look out for everyone here and I know he didn't intend this comment to be taken into the context of anyone being lesser for not having this sort of experience. I'd rather be too careful than not careful enough.

This all sounds very reasonable to me! Gigi, you are such a wonderful person to take all this on!

Does this also include no one drinking at dinner? Because seriously, I'm 32 friggin years old, if I want a few glasses of wine with my meal I will most certainly have them. Trust me, it will not impair me enough to not "play" so to speak. (Then again, I feel that's the choice of whatever Top/bottom I choose to play with.)

I'm interested in knowing how you legally protected yourself from being responsible for any/all activities in the hotel suite. That seems to be an impossibility to me.

About the pictures...I am going to be frank here. I don't know you Gigi. I would not want any pictures of myself in any compromising position being your "sole property." Yes, I am legally protected a bit by a waiver, however IF those pictures were ever leaked to the wrong sources, my life would be completely fucked. No nursing license, no custody of my kids, etc..etc... Waiver or no waiver becomes irrevelant once my life is ruined. I know Kitty. I trust Kitty. I know for a fact that Kitty has just as much riding on personal and professional discretion as I do. I don't doubt for a second that any pictures of me would be safe with her. Unless Kitty is the photographer, I will not be in any pictures. Just like with a play partner, it's a matter of trust.

I'm one of those people who've never been to one of these actually. I wasn't being harsh.

I was applying my own feelings and those I perceive of others to the situation. That....was really all.:rose:

No. If I intended to include drinking at dinner, I would have said so. I think we are all responsible enough to know what are limits are to that degree so as to not effect the events later to come that evening. The fact is, if there is someone under the age of 21 in the suite and alcohol is included, that is delinquency. I am trying to remove as much liability as possible here and this, unfortunately, is something that falls under that category. I also feel it is irresponsible to provide alcohol during play for the simple reason of consent. Again, who wants to play with a buzzed/drunk partner?

I'm interested in knowing how you legally protected yourself from being responsible for any/all activities in the hotel suite. That seems to be an impossibility to me.

Not that it is relevant, but I have discussed this with my lawyer and a few members of the hospitality industry. We are taking whatever action we can to lift any burden of liability from my shoulders. Details are not important since I have been told not to share them. Just rest assured that I know what the risk is and appropriate measures have been and will be taken. Basically, people, be responsible and lets not do anything stupid, ok? (Yet another good reason to remove alcohol from the equasion.)

Since we are being frank here, you are not the only one who has something to lose in all this you know. My job is of a sensitive nature too and if it were to be exposed that I took photos of this sort, my entire life would be ruined. I never said I had to be *the* photographer, I was simply absorbing the role before hand b/c I didn't know anyone wanted to do it. I only said there has to be only ONE photographer. As I stated in my above post, if anyone else is dying to take photos, then we will arrange it so that THEY are legally and personally responsible. No one is out to take photos and plaster them all over the net, here. Frankly I am a bit insulted that you would even insinuate that I would be that crass. IF I were to take shots, all photos would remain on discs in my possession (NOT EVEN ON MY HARD DRIVE) until they were requested by the subject. Then, and only then, would they be made available in what ever method the subject chose. While I may be an amateur photog simply in title, I am not unprofessional in any way when it comes to my work.

Edit: I'm ceding to Gigi on the photography issue. I was typing this post while she was posting above.

Things'll work themselves out.

To chime in on alcohol, sure, reasonable drinks are at dinner are no big deal, but I would be IMMENSELY more comfortable with no alcohol on premises. This is a good decision, IMO.
