Atlantic Hurricanes

It's not looking good for the coastal plains of NC. The forecast is already calling for a washout, next weekend.

I will probably be swept away as I am supposed to be in SC for a wedding. I'm bringing my floaties.

Where is that hurricane projected to be at on Friday? I've got a Friday flight to Naples, FL that I hope doesn't get cancelled.

Damn. Looks like there goes my next week's trip to see my bestie. :(

And...

Please miss the coast of Georgia. Please miss the coast of Georgia.

A hurricane warning is in effect for the southeastern Bahamas, including the Inaguas, Mayaguana, Acklins, Crooked Island, Long Cay and Ragged Island; the Central Bahamas, including Long Island, Exuma, Rum Cay, San Salvador and Cat Island; and the northwestern Bahamas, including the Abacos, Andros Island, Berry Islands, Bimini, Eleuthera, Grand Bahama Island and New Providence.

The Carolinas just might catch a break if Matthew gets shoved offshore by a high pressure system.

...When a hurricane is forecast to take a track roughly parallel
to a coastline, as Matthew is forecast to do from Florida through
South Carolina, it becomes very difficult to estimate impacts this
far in advance. For example, only a small deviation of the track to
the left of the NHC forecast could bring the core of a major
hurricane onshore, while a small deviation to the right could keep
all of the hurricane-force winds offshore. It will likely take
another day or so for the potential impacts of Matthew in the United
States to clarify...

Here's an interesting possibility (but not if you're a Floridian)— the damn thing does a back flip:

Perhaps at Cape Canaveral, but the core has remained just offshore for the most part. The latest discussion suggests the eyewall may move over Charleston later today. :(

I live in the death zone. Lots of wind and a shitload of rain. I lost power for an hour and half That was all. Hurricanes finally give the weather person a moment in the spot light. You are all gonna die.

And they wonder why we don't why we don't heed their warnings. Do you think think I am making thing ups? Watch this. Everyone will die.
