Avatar: Lightning strikes (OOC)

That could be a way to make Azula more of a threat.
Discovers a way to tap into daddy's locked bending and steal his former strength for her own.

That's pretty seriously cool.

Would it be cumulative? Would she steal the Bending of everyone she kills?

But then I wonder how the hell she threatens a giant turtle with an island on its back. Threaten to burn it off?

Wouldn't it simply eat her?
Or like my old dog with the kitten-

*raise paw, slap down puny creature and stare at it til it screams bloody murder*

My eyes are hazel, but they tend to turn green in certain light.

Anywho, I like the ideas discussed so far. Not sure how you'd depower Aang though but I'm betting there's a way.

Going with the other sidetrack we've taken...

My eyes are hazel as well, but for some reason... every photo I take, they end up blue.

I've actually been wondering about this stuff lately. If energy bending could have an undesired effect, where if the person who had their bending taken away would find an untapped and greater resource of power within them should they ever regain their abilities.

Maybe have Aang trying to do the energybend trick on Azula, only for something to interrupt or cause an irregularity of the flow, which instead disrupts Aang's own bending and awakens greater abilities inside of the psycho bitch?

Really?

:: frets! ::

She's just doing her best 'coz she's scared shitless.

(Is it too much?)

No, no, it's perfect. I'm more just playing around with you. And, trust me, I've done a lot worst in action scenes for other threads. *smirking*

Although if Ryota saw her, he'd probably start to to worry as I picture him being similar (albeit more brief) when he killed the Firebender who nearly murdered him all those years ago. Longshot's probably with enough experience under his belt where he recognizes her behavior for what it is and accepts it as such.

There we are then.
See what Ahren thinks when he comes back.

Toph: *blink blink* *wipes face of warm thick goop*... Did I just get doused in crazy-gut splashback?!

That makes sense. I see no reason for him not to want to energy bend her after all this, and it seemed even less likely that she'd escape. Perhaps Zuko is faced with the task of killing her, but simply can't do it and asks Aang to remove her powers, thinking she would no longer be a threat anymore.

Though the real question is, what would possibly interrupt Aang enough to cause such a reaction? Once we decide on something, I can probably have enough to write a post.

Heh, and then everyone spends the rest of the thread giving poor Sokka dirty and accusing looks.

It shouldn't be hard to think up something with all of the chaos going on around the Fire Nation at the moment. One suggestion is to perhaps have Katara badly injured or her life threatened during the energybend, since, as has been pointed out: If Aang has a weakness it's his feelings for his true love.

This would either cause Aang to stop in the middle of the flowing of energy between himself and Azula, or result in his losing concentration and nearly being overwhelmed/corrupted by Azula's energy flow, similar to when he used it on Ozai. From there, either he breaks the connection himself, or Zuko (or whomever else is near enough) forcibly pushes the two apart upon realizing that something's gone wrong.

Either way, I figure the end result is Aang's energy/connection to the spirit world being disrupted to the point of his bending becoming near non-existent (or however much you wanted him depowered for now), while Azula's own chakra flow is left open enough where she's essentially on or near to permanent Sozin's Comet mode.

Okay. I think Katara distracting him sounds pretty solid, though it would obviously have to be a situation in which others weren't in a position to help her, at least not right away...

Evil Spirit Monster summoned by the surfeit of madness.

Attacking her from within!

(Just a suggestion. This could even be evocative of the aforementioned stealing of Ummi from Avatar Kuruk. They're both even Tribeswomen, Katara and Ummi.)

I mean, Iroh'd be able to see the thing, but only Aang would be able to stop it. And his momentary indecision mid-Energybend would be sufficent distraction for him to be no longer Unbendable.

Theoretically, 'Zula could just yank his Avatar-level Firebending right out of him.

And, yeah, I'm cool with Katara getting hurt, so long as it's plot.

Ok, so we're going with Azula snaggin' from Aang?
And the reason behind it being Katara being attacked thowing him off?

Next question is how to get Azula in Aang's vacinity. Right now she's parrot-perched on Ji Fen.
(Though I suppose that leaves the opportunity for Zuko or Aang to kill Mister Firebreath.)
