Avatar: Lightning strikes (OOC)

Unless you're in another Avatar thread that I'm unaware of, I think the idea of the Avatar GB thread is to nix this one and, well, go with that one. The key word there being one. There'd just be the single Avatar thread. We wouldn't keep doing Lightning Strikes.

Since Eazy already claimed Manzula, I wouldn't want Mai either. It'd be boring playing a character with the personality of a log.

Then I vote no on changing threads. I think that is a stupid idea that solves no problems.

Okay,

1. Party Pooper.
2. While I respect your honesty, I think calling the idea "stupid" was less than called for. Let's be a little more constructive in our feedback eh?
3. It's not meant to solve problems. It was an idea for a new thread to replace this dead one. Don't kid yourself, it is dead. The last post was 10 days ago by me. The last post that wasn't Lily or myself was by Eazy and that was almost 25 days ago. That's about a time period of a month.

Don't bother worrying on it anymore.

I've already dropped the idea.

Bah, might have been fun. We'll have to try again later. Maybe when some of us don't have a billion threads to worry about.

Also, nice avatar pic. Hubba hubba!

1. You're all calling the thread dead, not me. I explained why I didn't want to post again yet, but I'm fully aware I could get things moving again and plan on doing so. Therefore it's not dead unless the other two ladies are confirmed dropped.
2. The idea of changing threads was stupid, not the idea of the thread.
3. Replacing the dead thread is trying to solve the problem of people not posting with a new idea. This will work for approximately a few months before the exact same thing happens again. I've had threads on other forums have lulls longer than a month spring back to life and keep going and one such is close to going on three years because of it. If we stopped every time there was a writer's block, our best threads would have died long before.

We've put too much work into this to just let it fall away. It's not like you're limited to one thread, why does it matter that one has a break every once in a while?

I am not confirmed dropped.

I've been caught up in other threads with ideas coming in droves and, as Eazy suggested, maybe I haven't been listening close enough to the still small voice of this thing of beauty.

I would like this not to die.

I would like to get my shit together.

...if that's okay with you guys, still.

(I'm sorry.)

You're fine Chas. No beef with you gal. Do your thing sweetness.

Ahren, dude, look. I don't have a problem with one thread taking a break. As you said, I'm in a few at the moment so one taking a breather is nice every once in a while. However, there are times when players just need to let a thread go. Maybe it isn't going in the right direction, maybe some players vanished, doesn't matter the reason. What matters is that no one has posted besides Lily and myself in this thread for little under a month. I'd call it a dead thread.

If you want to revive it, be my guest. Toss up a post and I'll hop on board. Just because a thread is dead, it doesn't mean it's final. You're right. Threads can be revived, but until then...it's dead amigo.

Oh, and it didn't matter if it was the thread idea itself or the thread changing idea. Calling someone out like that and saying their input is "stupid" is a little uncalled for. I'd like to think we're all a bit more mature around these parts.

Your definition of dead is vastly different than mine, then. Not to mention it was implied this thread would no longer keep going if the other started. The word replaced was used. So you were talking like this one was done. This was where I had my issue.

And I wasn't calling anyone out. I was voicing my opinion on the matter in general. Stupid was the most efficient word to come to mind at the moment, and I have since explained why.

I said I considered calling it dead. I never flat off said it.

I do like this thread. A lot. I'd like to keep it going, because we haven't gotten that far, really.

And like I said with my last post here, FORGET that I even BROUGHT IT UP.

There's no GB thread coming.
There's no dropping this one.

So stop arguing over it.

UM should be returning soon, and we'll be returning to our regularly scheduled Avatar.

*was putting boxing gloves on*

Huh?.. But but but...

Aww...

Look, no hard feelings Ahren. A dead thread doesn't necessarily mean it's a finished thread. Like you said, there's always a chance for revival. If it happens, I will be on board.

Ok, let's say it was a misphrasing on my part earlier.

It was wrong of me to say DEAD thread.

Let's go with "The thread is on hold until everyone returns".

Right. Everyone calling it dead just freaked me out is all. Sorry if I got all defensive. If anything that just proves my dedication. :3

*staring at the avatar* Yeah, I'd normally make an 'I can think of two good reasons for joining Lily's Bleach thread' joke, but those look like they're worth six good reasons.

The one where she's riding the cotton pony? Classic.

And much as I admire the two primary redeeming features of Rangiku's character, I'm more of an adult Nel fan myself. Green hair, green skin, so long as there's something green to a girl, they'll win me over to at least some degree.

And I really am close to finishing that dang post, btw. Like....soonish. *dry cough*

Nel's definitely hot, and when it comes to actual characterization, I think she's the only Bleach girl I actually remain a fan of once the blood returns to my head.

Plus, you know, it sounds like she'd make a good avatar image for slowly easing people off of Rangiku. Win-win there.

Now that I think about it, if Gwen from Soulever Lift just had a different shade of green to her hair....and a skull for a helmet.....

*takes off to read over certain parts of that thread again*

XD

She would also, apparently, need more of a Spanish inflection than the Scots-Irish lilt I gave her.

Face it, we'll just have to rewrite that scene from scratch, c'mere.
