Aventures on Darmus

Vixen...

... glanced over at Valdimer as they both pushed their steeds at full pelt. She heard his question... but barely... the wind whipping at the words and muting them before they reached her ears.

"I told you... I have been hired to bring the girl to Lord Malvort... I was told only this..." she yelled back at him... "do not fear for her safety... whilst in my care no harm shall befall her..."

Their horses continued to strain to out step each other... Vladimer seemed to be waiting her answer to his second question.

"What is YOUR interest in Cervantes? For you to fear his well being as it seems you do... could it be that Cervantes has changed sides?" The raised brow and the smirk making it clear this was a snide jibe at perhaps a more intimate relationship between Valdimer and Cervantes. Vixen laughed out loud... the sound wild and free. As she did this she caught Cervantes scent... she smelt... fear... her smile was decidedly evil as she yanked on the reigns forcing her horse to change direction slightly as she focused on reaching Cervantes.

She almost missed the body lying directly in her path. Her horse saw the obsticle first and lept over it. With the skill of a rider used to many hours in the saddle Vixen turned around and came to a halt beside the corpse of the dead man. Her eyes quickly trying to take in the tracks around it before the others trampled them.

Cervantes:

"No hard feelings pretty..." Cervantes whispered in Gwens ear as he suddenly lifted her off the saddle in front of him, his brow creased with worry. "But the horse doesn't go nearly fast enough with the both of us on it..." And with that, Cervantes was kind enough to slow the horse to a trot and drop Gwen to the ground. An instant later he had the horse in a full gallop. As he tried with all his might to escape whatever fate Vixen had in mind for him, he wondered what was wrong with him... Dropping a gorgeous maiden like that... He definately had to reafirm his lebedo at the next tavern...

"Cervie!" Rocky yelled in her ear.

Muffin's mouth dropped open as that man kicked Gwen off her horse and took off running. Oooooh. Now she was mad.

"He runs away so bright so gay
A coward through and through
Turn him around, throw him on the ground,
And bring Gwen back her horse."

Muffin really sucked at poetry, but Uncle said that didn't matter. And it didn't. Gwen's horse came to a halt, then turned around and trotted back. Cerventes went flying.

Someday Muffin would be good enough to do magic without poetry, like Uncle. She smiled at Gwen who stood up and chuckled.

"The magic," Rocky blinked, watching the horse. It was magic, the kind Muffin had told her about. He didn't believe her when she said it, when things happened that he didn't understand people just told him it was magic. He didn't believe it, not everything could be magic. Honestly, why do some things float on water, and others sink? It can't work magically both ways. It just can't.
This however, could only be magic. Muffin had made that horse do something. She just made it turn, only by muttering a poem. A good one to be precise, he didn't think he could ever figure that poem out. Someone once told him how poems had rhyme and timing, and other things. He didn't understand how she could just make something like that up.
"Cervie," he called again, pointing behind him. At top speed the others were catching up.
"Cervie, Muffin, what should we do?"

"We need to get away from Malvort," Gwen pointed out.

"I can't leave Rocky and he won't go without Cerventes."

"Is that the idiot who took my horse?"

"Yes." Muffin waited for Gwen to figure it out. Strategy was her specialty. Gwen was all for ditching the two guys, Muffin could see it in her sister's face, but there was no way she was leaving Rocky behind.

"Rocky can ride with me and Cerv-" Gwen cut herself off, looking at Cerventes. No way she was leaving Sir Lech with her sister. Muffin was a powerfual wizardess, but she was dumb as a stump about some things. Looking into Cerventes's eyes, yeah, Muffin was dumb about some very important things. "Muffin, you'll have to help my horse along. He's going to have to carry Cerventes and I."

"Okay." Muffin thought for a moment.

"Horses are horses
Fast as the river courses
To this horse add speed
Give him strength and stamina
Like a warrior that never tires."

Ugh, that was a seriously bad poem. She needed to look into a poetry teacher. Well, Uncle always said it didn't matter. Gwen's horse snorted, tossing his head. His body broadened slightly, deepening in the chest. Muffin smiled and patted Rocky's hand. The ensorcelled horse would keep up with Dragon now.

"There they are!" Someone yelled from the trees.

"I think we're going to run away now, Rocky," Muffin said.

OOC: I'll leave it up to the panel on the topic of whether or not Vixen catches up. It wouldn't be too hard to have her horse crash into the little clearing and grab the reins from Gwen.

Vixen...

OOC: What a dillema... to capture or not to capture... this seems to be the question... [grins]... should we put more distance between us all and the wickedly evil Lord Malvort... OR... should Vixen reel them in now... there could always be a grand escape at a later stage? I say... let there be action now... [grins]

VIXEN kicked at her mare's flanks and immediately charged into the bushy woodland following the trail she saw. Cervantes' scent was so intense now that she could practically taste him. Sure enough a clearing and...

"ROCKY??" Vixen called out seeing the man on that strange horse with that strange young girl... and...

"CERVANTES!" she growled her hackles raised apon finally SEEING her intended prey. "You BASTARD!" Normally... the yelp of fear she heard from Cervantes would have filled her with a strange sense of satisfaction but she was bloody tired and EXTREMELY irritable... and quite frankly... MAD AS HELL.

She charged forward grabbing the reigns from Gwen's hands and hauling the horse to a hault. With her other hand she grabbed Cervantes by the scruff of his shirt and yanked him forward so that he lay awkwardly half off Gwen's horse and half across her own. "You..." she growled... "will pay..." she finished with an ominous hiss. Her elbow came up none to gently making thwacking contact with Cervantes jaw. She was not stupid... his healing ability would not allow him to be unconcious for long... she knew if she didn't put a LOT of strength behind her punch he'd just shake it off all together. Still holding Gwen's reigns securely she looked the maiden over.

"You... I believe would be Gwen... I've been ordered to deliver you... you have an appointment with Lord Malvort... and I intend to see that you keep it." She said with amazing calm after the violence she had just inflicted apon Cervantes.

Cervantes:

A well practiced innocence showed in Cervantes's blue eyes as Vixen finally caught ahold of him. He was mewling like a little pup. Until Vixen clocked him a good one. Then he went night night... She laid his limp body across her horse, just in front of her, letting his arms and legs dangle freely.

"No, no," he jumped off the horse. He barely glanced up at Muffin, as he fell down. He landed wrong, however, and tripped. It didn't stop him though, he got up, half running half tripping over to Vixen.
He grabbed Vixen's shirt, giving it a sharp pull. It would have been fairly comic except for the seriousness on both of their faces.
"You promised you wouldn't hurt him," he nodded towards Cervie, unconcious on her horse, "You promised. Why did you hurt him?"

Vixen...

was momentarily startled by Rocky grabbing her shirt. She barely controlled her instinct to kick him away from her... only her fondness for the man holding her back.

"Rocky..." she tried to speak to him but he was clearly too distressed to really hear her. Vixen was in a quandry. She only had so many pairs of hands and most of them were well and truly occupied at the moment.

"ROCKY!" she shouted loudly, finally getting the man's attention. "I haven't hurt him permanently... I've just... put him to sleep for a while so I can talk to him later..." she insisted. Finally she turned back to Gwen.

"Listen... M'Lady..." she spoke to the only person who seemed capable of sensible conversation. "I'm not an unreasonable person... but I have a job... and quite frankly I need the money... on top of which I have a reputation to maintain. I don't know what Lord Malvort wants with you... but I do know he wanted you alive... if I really thought he wanted you harmed..." Here Vixen faltered... what? what would she do if she knew Malvort intended harm to the woman. She still needed the money. Her mind flickered briefly to the child back in the care of her Mamon... the old age-wisened woman back home. If Vixen really considered any place home. Her thoughts quickly followed to the person laying across her lap. Damn him. She thought angrily.

Rocky was still attempting to pull her from her horse. "WAKE UP!" She slapped Cervantes across the face and was rewarded by a groan and a groggy shaking of his head.

"See Rocky... he's fine..." Vixen tried again.

Cervantes:

"Wha? What?!" Cervantes chirped as his head snapped upward in confusion. "Where am I?! Who are you?! Is your husband here?!" He looked up to meet Vixen's steely eyes. "...Vixen..." He mewled, pausing then, for nearly more than a minute. "Vixen... H... How is the... Child..." He asked hesitantly. He didn't dare to move, the slightest action would surely mean another nap... Even he knew that much.

Vixen...

... growled...

She looked into Cervantes eyes... and... saw their child's eyes. Yes... 'their' child's. She couldn't deny it to look at him. She gritted her teeth. She needed to stay angry... if she didn't... she may very well fall for the bastard again.

"TELL your side-kick you're alright..." she managed.

Her look indicated that she was waiting... even hoping he might try something... all the more reason to give her free reign to her feelings... apon which his safety... no matter what she had promised to Rocky... was surely in jeapardy.

The four knights which had been trying to keep up with her all this time... finally arrived. Among them Frederick and Stagwort.

"M'Lady Vixen!" Frederick called out...

"Gwen!" Growled Stagwort... quickly moving his steed to her free side so that she was effectively sandwiched between Vixen and himself.

Meanwhile the other two knights... taking his lead surrounded Muffin and Dragon.

Cervantes:

"Ah... I'm just fine Rocky..." Cervantes choked out as he continued to keep his pleading eyes locked on Vixen. Why wasn't she ripping him to shreds this very instant? He wondered. She had plenty of reason to... He stalled those thoughts as he watched how her lips moved with each word she spoke, how they always looked slightly moistened... His heart started to race as his eyes slowly drifted toward her breasts...

Vixen...

... felt his eyes on her... and couldn't help but respond to him. 'Damn it!' she thought... why couldn't she get the bastard out of her system? What was WRONG with her... whatever happend to her self control?

Her chest was heaving as she tried to control her breathing... she suddenly realised that this only invited more attention from Cervantes. Her fingers itched to rip his throat out... or stroke his cheek... she wasn't sure which at the moment.

"Listen..." she finally managed to croak out... "you will ride with me... we're taking Gwen... and while we're at it... the Muffin girl to Lord Malvort as I have been hired to do and then... Mr Cervantes... you and I have some unfinished business to discuss!"

Vixen turned to Valdimer... she smiled warmly at him now that she didn't have to look at Cervantes. "M'Lord Valdimer... you're welcome to join us on our journey... both yourself and your... friend..." she acknowledged Aristus with a polite inclination of her head... "unless you have other pressing business?" This was the first time she thought to ask what Valdimer's intentions were... and she was suddenly desperately curious to know why he travelled with Cervantes... but she refused to ask this outright just yet.

Valdimer

"M'lady, Myself and Aristus will acompany you." Val said, returning the smile to Vixen. His gaze went to each of the other knights in Vixen's group, at last lingering on the one called Stagwort. His intentions somewhat obivous about girl, Valdimer let his intimidating gaze rest on the knight a little longer than on the others. "Vixen, now that you have Cervantes," Val spoke as he turned his horse to ride alongside Vixen, with an almost humorous look he continued, "what do you plan to do with him now? Throw him in the dungeon? Display him in public square and whip him as he has so many farmer's daughters? Or release him to a thirsty calf, as punishment for the things he's done?" he concluded, letting out a slight bit of laughter. Aristus, behind Valdimer, could be heard slaping his forehead and the sound "UGH." was all that could be heard. Val continued on, awaiting her answer, and watching Cervantes drool over her shaply ass.

OOC: sorry for not posting sooner. Had other things going on, family matters and my new job. But I am back now, and will be posting on a regular basis.

Vixen...

... "to be honest M'Lord..." Vixen answered Valdimer... "it's almost punishment enough having scared him as much as I have..." she grinned.

"Still..." she continued... "he has... certain... tasks he must fullfill before I can entertain any of your much appreciated suggestions..." she smiled again, oblivious to Cervantes' attentions.

"We'll be heading through a small town called Gandallay... it's perhaps half a days ride North of here. I suggest we stay there for the night before heading for Lord Malvort's realm. We should be there within three days... so long as..." she started before catching herself... "err.. nevermind..." she smiled again and slapped absentmindedly at Cervantes' hand which was becoming quite forward.

"G-gwen?" Muffin's eyes locked on Stagwort's. Stagwort was sneering at her and it was a very ugly expression. Dragon's head lowered, ears flattened, and teeth came out. He was prepared to do battle. "What do we do now? I can-"

"No!" Gwen snapped, cutting her off. "I'm the one with the power, remember? I'm the one with the magic. I'm the one Malvort wants, not you. You can't do anything. Remember?"

Muffin nodded, not taking her eyes from Stagwort. Gwen had gotten everyone's attention.

"But-" Rocky began, but Gwen cut him off.

"Trust me, Muffin." There was silence for a moment, the Muffin nodded. "Dragon, esketh."

The horse's ears flicked.

"Gwen..."

"We have a long trip to get to Malvort, we'd best get started. Rocky, why don't you ride with Muffin?" Gwen stated briskly. Muffin was confused, why would Gwen want Rocky to run away with her and Dragon? Not that she minded, she liked Rocky.

Cervantes:

Yelping as Vixen swatted his hand away from the curve of her ass, Cervantes stuck his hand against his mouth, as though to kiss a boo boo or something. He gave her the most innocent eyes he could muster and whimpered. "I only wanted to squeeze her firm flesh... Thats all... Was that so bad?!" He thought to himself as he contented himself to simply gaze at her with a sharp, hot lust flittering behind his eyes. It had been nearly seven years since he had last slept with her... He really, REALLY wanted to again! It seemed his lust outweighed his fear this time around, as Vixen's horse was getting quite annoyed with "that prodding thing against its flank."

Rocky helped himself up behind Muffin again. He didn't like this at all, they were taking Cervie away, and this other girl, who did nothing as far as he knew, was being taken away. He wrapped his arms around Muffin, leaning his head on her back. He didn't know what to do, if he were smarter, somehow he would know, but he wasn't.
He didn't even know what was going on half the time.
Rocky looked back at Vixen. She was his friend, wasn't she? She used to be his friend. Now though, he didn't think she was. Sometimes, her was just so stupid, that people stopped liking him. Vixen was so nice though, how come she's not nice anymore?
Cervie made her not nice, that's what happened. Cervie left her, and she turned not nice. Rocky didn't want Vixen to be mean at him cause something Cervie did. He didn't do anything wrong.
Tears began falling down his cheeks.
"Muffin," he whispered, wiping away the tears, "Muffin, what are we going to do?"

Muffin looked at Gwen. What were they going to do?

"Uncle 'Leaf's book, Muffin. It's important."

Stagwort leaned forward. "Don't try anything funny Muffy."

"Okay, Gwen."

Gwen nodded in satisfaction. Muffin grabbed Rocky's hands and held them tightly to her middle. "Dragon," Gwen said, "esketh chinka malnon ted."

Stagwort lifted his crossbow. The rest of the party moved restlessly. Dragon snorted, wheeled on one foot, and bolted through the trees. Stagwort's crossbow quarrel sank into a tree where Dragon's ass had been. Dragon took the hint and poured on the speed.

"Hang on Rocky!!!" Muffin bellowed in the hurricane wind. "We have to get a book!"

Vixen...

"what the HELL??" She was buffetted by the wind left by Dragon, Muffin and Rocky's sudden departure.

"Damn... I KNEW there was something strange about that beast..." she muttered to herself. Stagwort looked ready to charge after Muffin but was also wanting to keep his eye on Gwen. He finally turned to Vixen... "M'Lady..." he asked gruffly...

Vixen contemplated her position. She still had Gwen who really was the only person Lord Malvort wanted... she figured...

"Leave them... we have what we came for..." She urged her horse forward and again swatted at Cervantes wandering hands. Damn it but she was getting turned on by his obvious desire. What the hell was the matter with her? She shook her head as if to clear it and nodded to the knights under her command to surround Gwen in tight formation. She wasn't going anywhere soon.

This is absolutely insane, all these people making such a fuss about some idiot with puffy shoulders. He couldn't be all that important, thought Aristus.

Looking about as all these people moving like they had caught the biggest mass murderer of all time. Aristus paused and looked at the woman who offered him and Valdimer the invite to join. He shrugged his shoulders and thought "What the hell, I've got nothing better to do".

"M'lady, I do accept the offer on my behalf but I can't say the same for Valdimer unless he wishes to do so himself." Aristus waited for her reply. He hoped he wasn't making a BIG mistake with this....

Vixen

Vixen turned her attention to Aristus and smiled at the man. "Then I welcome you to our small group M'Lord..." she looked at him carefully... his dress, his stature... the way he held himself... "you are... a scholar of sorts I take it?" She queried.

Rocky hugged Muffin tightly as he saw shadows of forest pass through his vision. It was a blur, shades of green and blue passed before his eyes. Rocky didn't understand it all.
"Mu- uff- in," he said between jolts from the horse.
"What are we doing, we left your sister and my friends back there? Where are we going?"
