I have always thought that odd and wonder how you actually pronounce that. Do you pronounce that key- low /meet- uhrs or more like key low mət rəz? Məh trez? I've heard Americans pronounce it the way I showed in the first place I and a lot of people pronounce it kə LAW mƏh Turrs.

Which is also odd because it's not məh Turrs, it is MEE turrs or maybe MEET uhrs.

Man that was a pain in the ass to type because my overly aggressive autocorrect considers m e h and actual word and it kept wanting to get rid of my schwab e's. If I went to all the damn trouble to type of schwa e, I pretty much wanted a schwa e!

You ever had a word that you just consistently stumble over. Molybdenum I have a lot of trouble saying, but aluminum was always hard for me for some reason I always wanted at add an extra syllable in there somewhere. Even when I would try to type it out I would get lost because at some point the word in my head didn't match what I was trying to type.

the queen's English version of aluminium vs aluminum just made much more sense to me.

Al you min ee um is more fun to say.

Is a meter meter, or is it metre? What about something like speedometer? Is it speedometre?

Probably because I was in the experimental group where they were going to convert US to the metric system and then gave up in the middle of insisting that we learn it, I just never really paid much attention to how you spell it. I see it like that in things like manuals that are authored in Britain even on German cars and in Olympic events and that sort of thing but it just never really registered. Looking up the etymology of it it's French!

Where the hell are the English not speaking English? And why would Australia follow English in this Francophile fixation. Do they have no sense of Histor? If anything the French are on our side. Well at least they were. Not So Much Anymore.

that's simply not how it works

the report button sends the actual post being reported. there's no guessing involved. although, having said that, if someone chose to say x used y's real name when in fact it wasn't and laurel believed them, and x was out of warnings for similar behaviour? well, yeah, that could happen i suppose. it just wouldn't be the case in events of y claiming x said 'this' when they hadn't as there would no be clear evidence to support that.

The very post deleted seems to have been quoted below in the thread. It quotes a thread title and the avatar that created the post? In literature, this is known as a citation. Has the thread quoted been deleted? No. Is the implied criticism of this thread the offense? Was it the usage of the currently active avatar in use on these boards the offense? Is the active avatar pic offensive?
