I am a smart ass. When I can pull out a file from a year and half ago and give you precise details on the figures and the patient, thus shoving it in her face..Why are you looking at files this old? Are you this far behind in your paperwork?

It is the patients that make it wonderful! When I get them Medicaid or Social Security/SSI for the first time. Helping the homeless off the streets. That makes it worth it. Not the corporate pigeons.

Can you imagine homeless people having a roof over their head for the first time in years? Having medical care for the first time in a long time? Reconnecting them with family? Getting them an income? Health insurance? It is great! It is the reason I show up to work.

Some stay at the nursing home. Some move into apartments. A few go back to the streets. The majority stay off the streets. That is not saying anything about the other residents at the nursing home. I could go on all day.
