Failing all that, you can also rest the camera on something convenient, or get a cheap tripod (or even one of the mini versions which are usually only a few $), or study the maual and a few sites on tips to experiment with various settings to minimise problems.

I had to take a picture of my eyes four times before I got one with my eyes open - and then it only worked cause I turned off the flash. LOL

Oops! Well, there's still grad school and being poor. But being skinny is overrated -- I'm looking forward gaining back some weight, and hopefully some boobies. I'm lucky I've still got some ass on me.

I'm also poor. To tell the truth I'm overweight cause of extenuating health conditions. I barely eat. But I've been on and off prednisone for years, and it royally fucked my metabolism. Doesn't matter what I do or don't eat, I can't lose weight.

I was pretty open about posting my face when I first joined Lit, but recently I've received some awards in my current career and I'm slightly higher profile than I'd like to be. I realized this when I was goofing around with a coworker and Googled myself, only to find a post about my most recent award that I was still unaware of on someone's blog. It was a bit of a wake up call, and while I'm more than happy to PM pictures, I decided that because of my career and my position in a K12 educational institution, it would be wisest to remove my face from any controversial sites. I don't even have my real name tied to my MySpace account, although I do have a picture there.

Possibly a mis-timing between your flash and your shutter. If they're not exactly timed to fractions of a second, the image won't produce the way its telling you it will.
