Beer club

Recently spent an evening working my way through the offerings at Hopewell Brewing. If any Beer Club folks find themselves in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, I highly recommend it. Revolution has a brewpub nearby and Maplewood brewery and distillery is nearby too, if you want to make a day of it. Slainte!

I know that neighborhood, my son lived on N. Milwaukee Ave his Jr. year. They were just building out the Revolution Brewery at the time, so it wasn't open yet. But there were great Mexican food places and bottle shops right along there.

I just found this thread. I'm a huge fan of craft beers and have been fortunate to try some great ones from all over the U.S. and the world. Are any of y'all homebrewers as well? I look forward to getting to know y'all.

There are four homebrewers, including myself, who I know on the threads here. Today I brewed 10 gallons of double IPA and 5 of a pale ale. Both good, all grain, recipes I've made successfully before 🍺🙂

Very cool - I usually do 10 gallons as well. I just did my first American lager after holding out about 5 years. A friemd's fiance' wants it for their wedding.

On another note - I'll be in Chicago this weekend so any recommendations - especially on the north side, are appreciated.

I don't do lagers, don't have the temp controls for fermenting those in place yet.

As far as Chicago goes, see post #275, just above. Miles is the Chicago expert :)

FLA is too far to go for a beer. Unless, we're talking some Tactical Nuclear Penguin.

Just finished an Oude Tart from the Bruery. Getting into Vultures From the Past 7venth Sun.

Hello again, beer drinkers. Nothing new to report, at least with beer. Been delving a bit deeper into bourbons, though. Current favorite is Jefferson's Reserve. Very old. Very small batch. That's right off the label. Don't know anything more about it, really. My bartender gave it to me as a gift.

It's quite exquisite.

You have a very generous bartender. That is a great gift you are certainly a most favored customer.

The new one I'm recommending is High West Rendezvous Rye. I just finished the bottle I got for Christmas. It's my new favorite sipper. Give it a try, if you haven't yet.

so the aim of the game is to take a picture of beers you drank or anything beer related and report ?

My bartender and I have, um, relations from time to time. She's one of those dangerously voluptuous, natural blondes with rosy cheeks, blue eyes and a perpetual smile. Her ass is to die for. Her boobs put mine to shame. My gifts to her are similarly lavish.

And she gives you liquor . . . she's sounds like a keeper ;)
