Beer club

Not really, just an imperial IPA. A standard for Midnightsun Brewing.

Just kidding about that :D

Yesterday I brewed a light Scottish Ale and an IPA with my son-in-law/brew partner. Next week we're brewing an Irish Red and an American Porter. The local competition is coming up and we need some entries. I've also got a couple kegs of stouts already done for it. One is getting vanilla beans, coffee beans and cacao nibs added the keg this weekend :)

Just found this thread and as a homebrewer and craft beer nerd, I mean, enthusiast, I look forward to reading through the posts.

Just a quick note - I don't know how to type the slashed O, but Thor have you ever had beer from To Ol where the second O is slashed? Fantastic danish brewery

I have had beer from To Øl (Two Beers), but not in Denmark. Right here in Alaska! My beermonger, Pamela, is the best.

Kudos to Pamela. I know you have some great breweries there - any locals you consider favorites?

It's hard to go wrong at Anchorage Brewing, Midnightsun Brewing, or Broken Tooth Brewing. I believe my most recent 'local' acquisitions are Petersville Pilsner from Denali Brewing and Endless Ending from Anchorage Brewing.

Do they still make Rainier? I remember that brand from when I was a kid and collected beer cans.

Yes they do, but it's not brewed here any more. it's brewed in California some place. It's about the only one of our local beers (Lucky Lager, Olympia, Blitz Winehart) that has survived.

Comshaw

Oly pop. LOL!

Great beer names.

There's a brewery near me that's named JAFB Wooster. The JAFB stands for Just Another Fucking Brewery. In spite of their name, they make good beer. Good enough to get a bronze in the recent GABF.

Side note: GABF was awesome this year. Depending on where they hold Shelton Bros. in 2020 I may go back next year.

I actually am a beer person mainly because I am a lightweight when it comes to hard liquor. Just for light drinking Bud Light or Coors Light are some of my favorites. When I get brave or want something harder I love Scotch Ales. Here Mountain Man is popular as well as Coldsmoke.

How did folks like Raspberry Halo? I have tried so many CCB beers they all kinda run together. Last one that was remarkable was Snack Attack which was a colab between them and Funky Buddha and Blue Jacket. Pretty decent whiskey barrel-aged imperial stout conditioned on cacao nibs, peanuts, vanilla, lactose and salt.

If you like CCB there are other good Tampa options you should try. Cycle, Angry Chair and 7th Sun are all pretty rad. Hidden Springs for the super cool kids.

Went to a beer and food pairing last week, good stuff

That looks like a cool place, Blues. Prost!

I've only had CCB beers at festivals. I wish they distributed around here.

I drank this bomber last weekend with a friend. They don't distribute around me either, it was a gift and a delicious one at that!
