Bernie Sanders

Bernie Sanders promising free shit to everyone makes it clear to me and it gives him one huge advantage over Hillary Clinton in these primaries: accountability. I'm pretty sure Sanders realizes (and has always realized) that he will never be president. So what's the harm in promising free shit when he'll never actually have to walk the walk? Clinton, on the other hand, has a very realistic chance of becoming our next president, so it is in her best interest to provide realistic goals and satisfy the citizens by completing them. Sanders, knowing he will never be president, can promise all this shit, get votes, and never have to speak for it. I can only imagine the backlash he would receive if he were elected president, not actually be able to do anything he promised, his favorability ratings plummet, and a republican gets elected in 2020.

And Sanders supporters are delusional if they think he can become president with such an abysmal amount of black voters supporting him.

I think most voters know politicians will tell any lie needed to get elected.

You guys have your Sanders fan thread. This is a Sanders hate thread. I think that's only fair that if I respect your space (I won't post in that thread bashing Sanders anymore) that I get this thread that won't be derailed.
IMHO your problem here is that all other contenders are much more worthy of hate than is Sanders. His sins are like little scatterings of deer-turd pellets in my mountain meadow versus the huge steaming piles of bullshit and elephant dung deposited by the rest.

Go ahead, hate Bernie, I don't care. I'm a registered Green and I'll vote for Dr Jill Stein in November -- because here in California, it won't matter. Either Bernie or Hillary will take the state. That's life.

Why vote for the lesser evil?

I think that's the result of Sanders not doing anything. Dude has renamed a couple of post offices and that's about it. When your history in politics is as lengthy as Clinton's, obviously mistakes will be made. Nobody is going to be right 100% of the time. I'll take Clinton's experience over Sanders' doing nothing in his time in politics.

It just boggles my mind why anyone would vote for Sanders. This isn't some shitty job that has no effect on the world. You're voting for who will be the most powerful person in the world. It should be a meritocracy. Sanders' credentials to be president are truly no better than Donald Trump's. In terms of resume, nobody running has better credentials than Hillary.

Problem is, she's owned by the 1% donor class. Tromp and Bernie attract their (somewhat overlapping) followings by NOT being owned. They're surfing the waves of discontent. Cowabunga.

To me the basic question is: Who is most likely to effect change that will most benefit the 99%?

I don't have an answer there. I don't know how USA can break out of its dysfunctional spiral. No party-approved candidate will try to change the structural problems. Bernie might try, ineffectually; corporate pimp Tromp might try, disastrously; corporate whore, a product of the system, Hillary won't even try. I am very pessimistic. Pass the Kool-Ade.

yes i definitely agree that no politician is perfect and I would take a 3rd Obama term over any of the candidates running, but of the ones still running I think Hillary is the best fit.

Hillary IS a 3rd Obama term.

Ahh....Republican lite LOL

Okay? I don't think being labelled as a republican has to necessarily be a bad thing. I call it being realistic. I won't vote for Sanders because he has no chance of actually doing what he promises.

But it is if you're talking about the current brand of 1% dick sucking they push.

That's just it, Sanders isn't making promises he's telling people the things he would like to work towards.

And neither will Hillary...she's going to toss the 99% under the bus day 1 just like every other Wall St. POTUS and let the elites fuck us all as hard as they want. She might as well be a fuckin Bush.

Maybe that's his downfall?

He's not just pumping vast quantities of pure bullshit that Clinton is?

he is pumping bullshit tho. college will never be free and his healthcare plan will never pass.

Find a quote where he promises college will be free and he will get his HC plan passed.

I've never heard him promise those things, he thinks those are things we should do but not promises he's making. Unless you're sucking up Clinton kool aid then you probably consider them the same thing.

Of course it won't be free, we are going to put Clinton in office and she's going to give admit billions in funding and then let them fuck the students for 50k/yr worth of debt on top of it all sinking the next generation even further and she will laugh at us the whole way.

Oh well it doesn't really matter to me, I'm off the fuckin' map soon anyhow. US deserves that 1%'s dick up their ass for putting a Wall St. mouthpiece in the WH again.

You can't it doesn't exist, he thinks those are things we should do.

so all of bernie's talking points that ultimately won't succeed can be waved off as "he will try"? lmao, I can only imagine Hillary saying that and getting crucified if they didn't actually happen.

In that case, I'm even less enthused by Bernie if he is going to be that indecisive.

She's not going to get crucified...she'll just bold face lie about it and the lemmings like you wont care.

Look at her now....she was practically a Reaganite/Nixon fan girl until 6 months ago.

Kissing Wall St.'s ass, pro war on drugz, pro police state, pro war for profit. Hell she wasn't even pro choice until what 2012?

Better to rage against the machine than to keep bending over for it.

Nah, I just don't fall for the fairytale that Sanders promises. It doesn't help that his supporters are annoying as shit.

They aren't promises day day.

Why because they call Clinton supporters out for being the Wall St. 1% ass kissers they are?

As annoying as shit they are entitled to their opinion. But I agree that what Bernie proposes would not have a snowballs chance in hell of getting anywhere in Congress and that is where he would falter.

Just as I'm entitled to mine and I'm tired of Sanders supporters trying to silence me.

on letting other opinions be heard, what's with Sanders supporters protesting Trump and Hillary rally's? I don't see other candidates doing this.
