Bernie Sanders

yeah I don't see doing something super long ago qualifies you for an expert in race relations. not to mention blacks aren't the only minority here.

I didn't say he was an expert. I'm not even sure such a thing exists. I said that I'm not worried about him actually giving a shit about the cause. Nothing he's done in the interim has given me pause. No blacks are not the only minority but when we're talking about race issues in America they are one of two minorities. While Asians ARE a minority and do have various problems that face them (and frankly go MORE unnoticed than those of the African American and Latino communities for various reasons) very rarely is anybody talking about them. And when we mean Native Americans we say it. Same with Jews.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ES1ux_OHXM&feature=youtu.be

After hearing 40 veterans died on waiting lists in VA, Sanders' response is "people die everyday"

People do. I'm not gonna watch your whole video though so what precisely is the problem.

The Super Collider was killed to the chagrin of Texans. Why spend all that money and buy the parts from other countries.

Not sure how the space station has paid off at this point. Nice of the Russians to provide taxi service!

No worries. We are off to Mars! That really worked out well for "The Martian"

Because science. That really is it, you shouldn't need a reason to build a Super Colider that goes much farther than we don't know what will happen when we do this. As for the Space Station I'd have to look at a list of studies there but even if it's grand accomplishment was getting the US and USSR to work together that's almost worth it alone.

Why doesn't that count?

Bernie clearly knows nothing about economics though. I'd trust Trump before Sanders when it comes to the economy.

Sanders clearly is an expert on the economy. To such a degree that it's questionable if he's really invested any time on anything else. Clearly his plan if elected is "I'll do the economy. I'll find some smart people to handle everything that I don't really care about."

True!!

The US and Russia were working together for a while....
And still do... somewhat.

I agree that was a good thing.

Getting them to get rid of their extra nuclear crap would be nice right about now. (before Trump lets them sell it to Japan, S. Korea and Saudi Arabia....)

I agree Asians face plenty of problems in society. I think their success in education and high annual income on average makes people ignore them. I think Asians are still heavily underrepresented in mainstream media and that needs to change.

Agreed... If they kill Glenn on Walking Dead tomorrow.... there should be riots!

Yep....

If CA doesn't give me a licence or doesn't give me one soon enough I'll be liquidating and rolling out, probably to Alaska.

If they do though I'll buy my own congress critters and start voting for Hillary types myself.

You should visit Alaska either way. Love it or hate it , it's something to see.

Oh I plan on it...it's one of the only states I've yet to visit and one I really want to see.

IMO the west coast just gets better the further north you go and from what I've seen that carries on to Alaska.

I'm pretty sure I'll end up there sooner or later, but my little ego driven goals here in California have to be satisfied first.

It will be good either way. I'll get my shot to make mega bux or I'll be moving on to take my shot somewhere else.

I'm not sure I care if Japan gets nukes. I don't know enough about S. Korea. I don't want the Sauds with them but I wouldn't sleep any worse.

I'm not sure they are underrepresented in mainstream media. Certainly not heavily. Unless we're breaking it down by starring roles exclusively.

Very impressive. As an executive, he was an innovative mayor who revitalized dying Burlington. As a legislator, he is the amendment king in a rightwing Congress. Bernie's strength is building left+right coalitions to get things passed, progressive things that don't bloat gov't.

What is Hillary's legislative record? What bills or amendments did she push to completion? And what is her executive experience? Is being "co-president" with Billy supposed to count?

This is quite the show of either 'I have no understanding as to how the legislative process works in our system of government' or 'I've decided I don't like Bernie Sanders so the things he's done don't count'.

I'm voting Hillary assuming she gets the nomination. If sanders were to get the nomination I'd vote trump.

And this is a dead giveaway that the nuance of your worldview could fit into a thimble with some room to spare.

As far as I can tell, your principles, such that they may exist, are essentially to be afraid of any person or institution that could be described as 'socialist' regardless of the context or degree. So much so that you seem to prefer borderline fascism to it, which, well, good luck with that.

Eh, you're the same way toward the word republican

You've heard a lot of talk about high-dollar fundraisers in this campaign, and how the Clinton campaign hosts some events where some people get special access for "bundling" up to $27,000.

The legal contribution limit for an individual in the primary election is $2700. But campaigns like Hillary Clinton's encourage well-connected and wealthy people to "bundle" contributions.

Say someone is the CEO of a company, and she personally contributed the maximum allowed. She can still get five CEO friends and their spouses to contribute to Hillary Clinton's campaign, and take credit for their contributions — that way the campaign treats her as if she's raised nearly $30,000.

When those people bundle a certain amount, they often unlock access to the campaign at events with VIP sections, special guests, and more for bundlers. And it's at this kind of special event where elite fundraisers push their agendas, put ideas in front of candidates, and ask well-placed staff for favors.

We're doing things different on our campaign. Your $250 contribution right now allows our campaign to keep talking to voters so we can win battleground elections in Wisconsin and New York. Make yours now.

Bundlers are often lobbyists, executives, power players, and wealthy elites. They combine other people's money in order to get access to campaigns and candidates to peddle their interests and issues.

So when you hear about fossil fuel lobbyists bundling more than $1 million for Hillary Clinton, you should know that it can often be through in-person events where they get special access. When you hear about Wall Street fundraisers raising millions of dollars, know that they get the opportunity to advance their ideas to staff and candidates.

While the political establishment wants to win elections their way, we're doing it differently. We have had very few fundraising events on our campaign – fewer than 10, in fact. We do the vast majority of our fundraising through emails like this, through contributions of about $27 a piece.

As a result, we aren't beholden to special interests, bundlers, or lobbyists. We're beholden to you and the American people. Let's keep it that way.

Chip in $250 to our campaign and help us win Wisconsin on Tuesday, then win New York, and then win the Democratic nomination.

In solidarity,

Jeff Weaver

Meh. I like Bernie because of his message. I'm not sure I ever bought this paid for nonsense. Hell to me Bernie is giving some bastards a discount for no good reason.

Taking bundled contributions like Hillary does make you beholden to their lobby. Hillary is bought and paid for, by wall street and the fossil fuels industry. Bernie is not.

YW

I still don't trust him to run the country

Sanders the ‘Realist’; Hillary the ‘Neocon’

How about some rational arguments?

Hillary Clinton has scored points against Bernie Sanders by tagging him as a “single-issue candidate” who harps again and again on income inequality. Though the “single-issue” charge is false the Vermont Senator actually addresses a wide range of topics from global warming to health care to college costs Clinton’s attack line has been effective nonetheless

It works, in part, because Sanders shies away from thorough discussions about his views on foreign policy while Clinton can tout her résumé as a globetrotter both as First Lady and Secretary of State.

Sanders also has left himself open to attacks from neoconservatives and liberal interventionists that he is a “closet realist.” For instance, The Washington Post’s David Ignatius wrote recently: “Is Bernie Sanders a closet foreign policy ‘realist’? Reading his few pronouncements on foreign policy, you sense that he embraces the realists’ deep skepticism about U.S. military intervention.”

But what if Sanders came out of the closet and “confessed” to being a “realist” while posing the alternative question: Is Hillary Clinton a “closet neocon” who is seen by key neocons as “the vessel” in which they have placed their hopes for extending their power and expanding their policies? Might that question reenergize Sanders’s suddenly flagging campaign and force Clinton to venture beyond a few talking points on foreign policy?

Nah. That is when Hillary sez this: I am so sick of the Sanders campaign lying about me!

Don't you dare tell her that her public policy makes her a Hawk or a Neocon!

Can I call her a war mongering idiot? Or, can I call her a self-serving shill for the financial establishment?

Would that be politically accurate?

Well, let's put that to the test of her public policy positions.

"war mongering"
- As Secretary of state did everything in her power to kill brown people in the name of energy policy, in a location strategically inconsequential to the sovreigntity of the US of A.

I am going to rate that a "Yes".

"idiot"
- Well only of a fox or a badger or a coyote is similarly "idiotic" :)

"self-serving shill for the financial establishment"
- As senator... well let's let Warren weigh in on her public policy in that regard:
Elizabeth Warren’s critique of Hillary Clinton’s 2001 bankruptcy vote
Elizabeth Warren: Hillary Clinton Sold Out To Wall Street

SO idiot is out,hunh?

Okay how about, "War mongering Self-serving shill to the Financial/Military/Industrial Complex?"
