Hey everyone,

What would be the ultimate way of asking a girl to be your girlfriend? We have hung out now for a couple of weeks and we both really like each other..I want to ask her soon, do you guys have any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

sounds like a good start using what you wrote here. try that.

just be sincere and don't go all overboard trying to be overly romantic to the point where it sounds stupid. be honest and tell her how you feel. then, just like in retail, ask for the sale.

if you're confident about how YOU feel, and you think you have an objective view of the relationship as it's been to this point, odds are that she's thinking the same way you are. trust your instincts here... if you're having a good time together, it's not just you, it's her too.

Try This

Casually bring up the subject of STDs. Memorize the names of at least 2 dozen usually fatal sexually trasnmitted diseases and describe how each one manifests itself prior to long lingering "wet" gagging deaths. Photos might help. You know the ones ... huge pustulating chancres on tongues, lips, lips, etc etc

Mention that in an exclsive relationship the chances of catching any one of these killers is vastly reduced. Stare into her eyes, poke her in the ribs and say" Whad 'aboutit? "

Maybe its just me, but I stopped asking girls if they'd like to be my girlfriends when I was a sophomore in highschool (for a lot of reasons, but ...). We either knew, or there wasn't enough of a click between us in the first place. I think that if you have to ask something like that, and don't know how to, then there's already a communication problem.

Probably just me, though.

Don't ask her to be your girlfriend if you're unsure how she'll respond. If you're unsure, she probably doesn't know yet either.

Ask her out for dinner or to a movie. Not as a friend or just to hang out. Say something like "I like you very much and I want to take you out for dinner." In a way that leaves her in no doubt that it would be a date.

Be self assured but not arrogantly so and be prepared to lose face gracefully if she does turn you down so that you can preserve the friendship you have. Take it in your stride and remember that it's ultimately her loss.
