Who is Michael Park, BB?

I got all this stuff from a variety of sources, but mostly yahoo groups, usenet newsgroups, and other message boards where fetish or porn enthusiasts constantly post things. Oh, also the "werido pic" sites have a lot of great imagery sandwiched in amongst the sicker stuff: sites like bangedup, stileproject, and consuption junction.

#705 looks like Michael Parkes (sorry I misspelled earlier) to me --- early stuff. It's the swan and the dancer-types with the kind of mythical land in the sky or on the edge of a parapet background and the Indian head in profile. I hadn't ever seen an Indian head before, but he does a lot of rather stylized profiles with thrusting smooth faces.

The piece of his you're most likely to have seen just out and about is Gargoyles. It's of a young girl -- 10-12 -- in an ivory empire waist gown blowing bubbles while standing on the edge of what looks to be a rooftop and a stone gargoyle has broken away from the side of the building to chase one of her bubbles.

He was everywhere for awhile --- you could buy big framed prints of his stuff at Z Gallerie. Much of his work is somewhat darker, though and certainly more blatantly erotic. He includes a lot of swans and dwarf jesters, lots of dancers and near face-less harlequins. It's lush and romantic and eerie and sexy all at the same time.

You can tell I don't like him even a little bit, huh?

The link I found with the best assortment of prints actually is a gallery site so they're selling stuff. --- note to Powers That Be: I'm not intending to promote sales!!! --- I just wanted you to be able to see his stuff. So if somebody takes offense that the site is selling stuff I heartily apologize. I'm not trying to solicit business for anyone. If you do a word search on Gargoyles you'll find a thumbnail of the print I was talking about above but there's a ton of his other stuff there as well.

I'm still waiting to find someone who has a subscription or has had one or knows someone who has/had one to slavecomics.com. The Assassin posted a single picture from that site that got me all drooly and it looked like a total feast but I'm not about to join a site that doesn't say what the membership price is or state their cancellation policy for the free trial etc.

Ok, yes, that is a very nice one. The male figure looks almost heroic art-deco to me. I post linking to sites that sell stuff. So do many other people, such as when somebody asks for a good toystore or porno site we all give our suggestions. So I wouldn't worry about it. I officially declare commerical links O....K! in my thread, especially if they help us learn about some of these artists.

Any male subs read this thread? I throw in a good amout of female on top images in here and #705, the image under discussion, is one such pic.

Ah, back to my favorite thread.

I've had time to browse your link, BB, and YES! I know this artist! While I'd never seen the gargoyle one before, I had seen the lady walking on the hoop in mid-air, the women walking their pigs, and also some of his intriguing ones that involve nude women interacting short stout little men in uniforms wearing these incredible hats and very old, knowing expressions on their faces, like world-weary Oompa Loompas. I posted one of those in my beauty and beast thread because the little guy was such a perv.

It's fascinating to see that the artist carries this particular theme out through so many of his pictures. Parkes a lot more surreal in style than that old-looking pic I published but I do see the similarity in style. Some of these Parkes' are going to eventually find their way into this thread you know.
