Blurt Thread III - Emporium of Unexpected Exclamations & Revelations

Wonderful. He's such a happy little thing, in spite of the fact that he rarely sleeps for any decent amount of time. The Curly Haired Wonder is decidedly smitten with him also, which is just beautiful to witness. :D

sibling sweeties. :)
sounds wonderful

Den

Over many years my wife has had so many Colonoscopy's we lost count. In the early days that chaulky liquid was the worse part. As you know, now they flavor it.

She's had 18" of her colon removed, then back in for emergency surgery when the two pieces of colon hooked together leaked. She was on the Blue Ridge Parkway camping in a van and literally full of shit! That poor woman has been thru some serious shit.
She wasn't supposed to live but did just to pester me.

As recently as six years ago she went back to her ass doctor for more tests. This time they made her swallow a video camera. We had to hang around the mall all day until it found it's way back out. She got an all clear report.

I've never had a Colonoscopy but she's had enough for both of us and still smiles. If she can do it anyone can.

A close friend put a boot up my ass today, implying that I used Lit to avoid dealing with certain crap in my real life.

Yeah... I had nothing.

It's good to have friends who love you enough to say the hard things.

That would seem to be the very definition of incongruous, but clearly you have been blessed.

Nope. Not spending my day off with a family member who gleefully (and publicly) anticipates my eternal damnation. If her hell exists, she's gonna be quite disappointed to end up there with me.

Ha, hanging out with family like that can be more fun than you think. I bust out my pentagram T-shirt, randomly start speaking in tongues, and throw in as many "praise beelzebub's" as I can. If you know the specific reasons why she thinks you're hellbound, even better. Take every opportunity to be over the top!

In all seriousness, I don't blame you in the slightest. I have my opinions on religion and on the religious, but family just complicates matters.

My little bird was discharged in January and promptly broke her leg. Seven months in a hospital bed will do that to ya. Leg is finally mended and she's been given the green light to go to school.

Today is her first day! :)

Congrats to both of you!

Awesome news Wild Honey! :rose:

Now just keep the wee bird from stairs, corners, doors, cars, flammables, sharp objects, poisonous *insert weird creature name here* from Australia, glass, heights, water deeper than 2", and direct sunlight.

Just until she's feeling 100%. ;)

Seriously though, great to see you and yours coming through the other side of this tough, long journey. :)

Yay! I shall send you a big box of bubble wrap. ;) Safety first, and it's fun to pop.

Did her teachers survive Day 1?

Thanks, everyone. :rose:

She does actually have to stay out of the sunlight, and was quite disappointed about that at recess, but I have the sweetest story of new friends to tell when i have a bit more time. She's going to be great, and you guys are awesome.

Ha! That's about right!

This child is a born leader, had the nurses wrapped around her finger, and will be bossing her classmates around by the end of the week, I'm sure of it!

By funny coincidence, my second-oldest had this same teacher several years ago. She is kind but firm, quiet but no-nonsense. Her classroom is peaceful and orderly. I think it's going to be the perfect place for my little one. :)

We spawned one of those by some random quirk of genetic tomfoolery. They become remarkable adults.

Hey Sailor. Come here often?

Christ on a Triscuit! I just fell outta my chair.

Not as often as I used to, or should.

I took a wee blow to the senses and lost my way some. Went walkabout.

Perhaps it is time to start the reunion tour, play a few more gigs here.

You could be the Tennille to my Captain, the Cher to my Bono.

Come fire walk with me?

I will admit to having had both a Toni Tennille and a Dorothy Hamill haircut when I was a young girl.
