Blurt Thread III - Emporium of Unexpected Exclamations & Revelations

That happy wiggle moment when the last ten months worth of work comes together in a 15 minute presentation to the Board and they give you everything you recommend and a glowing review of your work and who you are in doing it.

*happy wiggle*

Congratulations! Sounds like well deserved recognition. Next up, pay raise!

Congrats! Being appreciated at work is a great feeling.

Cool, what band?

Local band called Little Brother. Their bass player has played with some biggies, and I am all about that bass. :D. I was actually on wingman duty. My friend was all about that sax, but alas, it ended in drama and tragedy.

Woohoo! Congrats you gorgeous brilliant Brofessional. :rose:

Hellloooo stubble.
Right? Da-yam.

Is it too early to ring Saucy's doorbell for a treat? :D
You missed it OT. We had TOT on Thursday and I won’t be home. I gotta run and go make a magician disappear.

I remember these backroom votes, deals, and discussions.

I ended up sending a puzzle of the stubbles, I believe.

With very few exceptions, I'm extremely confused by the phrase, "beautiful jazz saxophone".

I think Saucy got the nose?

I did get the nose, and a fine nose it was indeed.

I can try to have my friend explain it to you. She was prepared to ‘date’ a guy who straight up resembled a pirate because of his talented saxophone mojo. I didn’t get it either.

I always felt like the saxophonists I respected most and thought were the most talented were the ones who would set down the saxophone and pick up a different instrument instead.

The director of our university's music department is a jazz sax player. I went to see him play in concert a couple of weeks ago and he had some great, melodic tunes unlike some of the squeeks and squaks of the last guy that was playing "rainforest music". I think context has a lot to do with it but they were both playing the same venue and one was beautiful while the other was mostly not.

Bela Flek has a great melodic sax player too.

In that you don’t find beauty in a jazzy saxophone, or because the phrase feels like ‘pop tart bologna sandwich helen keller boomerang’ in your head, when you say it?

I saw Bela and his Flektones a few years ago, at the Seattle Woodland Zoo of all places.

Bela’s Flektone can play the bejesus out of a saxophone.

Their bassist was pretty kickass too.

There were no slouches in that band. I met Jeff Coffin (sax) last year and watched him play with my son in a jazz festival. Really nice guy and gifted player. My son dug out my BF CDs and got them signed. The benefit of keeping those old jewelcaes around in the digital age.

My phone insists on auto correcting slouches to douches so I guess they're all nice too:)

He also plays flute and clarinet, and sings back up. He’s a very talented musician. I’m always impressed by a guy who can toot a flute, even if it’s just skin flute in the jamboree.

Have a great trip, Miles Long. Stop by and have a drink with Des and send us a selfie of those fun times!

Thank you! I'm reminded of the words of ol' Winnie Churchill: we shall drink on the beaches, we shall drink on the landing grounds, we shall drink in the fields and in the streets, we shall drink in the hills; we shall never sober up, whatever the cost may be.

I'm paraphrasing, of course, but it's gonna be a good two weeks!

Safe trip and have a ball! And be nice to your liver—mine threatened to break up with me after this weekend, and that was only 4 days of sustained debauchery.
