Book Porn

This is what I love about Lit. Finding a wonderful unexpected. :)

I love books because because they educate when you want education, they take you to far off places when you need an escape, and they can make you laugh when you feel like there is no laughter left to be had.
This has got to be one of the best-ly worded descriptors of book love. :heart:

When I saw the library I had to whisper 'Hold me' to my (male) colleague. Jesus wept, it is beautiful.

The picture alone had me catching my breath. To see it in the flesh, so to speak, awe-inspiring and beyond. Bucket list I do believe.

I have a friend that just moved to Slana, but will be visiting Anchorage soon. I'm mentioning this place to her.

Out of curiosity, who gives up on books they find bad and who finishes them?
I will give up on them, put them down, and then try again a week or so later. My thinking is that maybe it was me, not the book. Unfortunately, it's usually the book, but a few times, happily, it was not.

And with that said, what is the worst book you've ever read?
Moon People by Dale Courtney. Gah!

Closing time at 10 or so, as I remember. But the pubs were open for another hour, so we didn't mind too much.

Good thing this thread never closes...it's about the only one I really get excited to see new posts in anymore.
