Insofar as my personal opinions concerning women in general, most of the pejorative terms floated on this forum are by others, not myself.

I personally love women, and all the wonderful things about them that lighten my life and inspire my art, such as it is.

What I do not and have never appreciated in the modern woman attempting to be equal to men in all ways by sacrificing that very lovely aspect of feminity they come endowed with.

I personally think extremist feminism in the past forty years has been tragically if not terminally fatal for our society.

I have the right to that opinion without apology whether you or any other single soul shares it.

I am full aware of the pain that may be associated with the expression of some of my opinions. Many who have taken actions and chosen a lifestyle for a large part of their adult lives become livid to read of a rational challenge that may in fact cause them to suddenly gasp and realize that the consequences of their 'choices' are absolute, cannot ever be changed and in fact have determined the circumstances of many around them.

So again, thank you for taking the time...I am sure I have disappointed you and others again by not recanting all that I hold as truth.

But then, that be how the cookie crumbles...

amicus...

You don't gotta recant anything- just own up to it!

I think that radical feminsts rule! they are passionate, outspoken, driven, and determined.

We disagree. So what- that is allowed. I disagree with everybody on something. I haven't found anybody yet who agrees 100% with my point of view, or my oppinioins or beliefs.

Maybe you don't say "woman are..." and then call them bad names, but you constantly associate woman things with bad things or imply that a woman should only be one way. (such as you did above)

That all women should be soft, girly, pleasing and selfless is just as rediculous as saying all men should drink only beer and hard liquor, enjoy sports, work in manual labor or management positions only and escew the cultural things such as ballet, or any type of refinement.

We are all different, male and female. Every female was not born to be a mother and every male was not born for war. Those who are predisposed or choose something different are not less of a man or less of a woman, although they may not be the type that you personally feel must comfortable with.

I'm with you on that, EL. Thanks for querying it, I was about to launch into one, but that's been averted. ;)

A bit slow on the uptake sometimes...

Lou

P.S. To ALL: Live and let live, eh? I don't hold grudges, but I do have a long memory. I'm just a simple minded, yet complicated, woman.

If it makes you feel better, I can go insult you both on another board;)

Amicus: I don't follow what Perdita says. She's my friend, but I've disagreed with her in the past and reserve the right to disagree with her in the future.

Bear in mind that I say this without prejudice or without influence from any of my friends: You are a complete wanker. You hold ridiculous opinions and I'd have you down as a troll just here to wind people up if you didn't seem so sincere. I had an honest discussion with you about the NHS and you accused me of being an Imperialist Briton "who would only be content when the sun never set on the British Empire."

You made me laugh with your response. You are an idiot and incapable of reasonable debate and, although I realise you had an honest intent behind your original post, I can't believe you didn't think that other people would take your previous posts into account before answering.

If you continue to act the fool, don't be surprised if people treat you as such.

Hell yes it's ok, and I had written a very long response about it, but it kept telling me I wasn't logged in and when I finally logged in my reply wans't there.

BS, don't ever tell a woman that she can't warn other women when she feels that they are walking into a trap or a bad situation.

most who didn't post here either realized that Perdita had a very excellent and valid point or they came to the same realization on their own. Those who did respond most likely took her advice into consideration and used their frail pathetic little brain and made up their own mind to take the risk.

I think that Perdita did the absolute right thing. She is not some troll, she is a very intellegent and level headed woman who has earned the respect of many on this board. And she fully diserves that respect.

The fact that amicus has nothing but venim for her, speaks more volumes than anything she herself said or could have said. I was thinking about posting some experiences, but his own words and the impression that I get from them (that he is intimidated by and can't handle a strong woman with a good mind and* a good brain) has actually changed my mind.

Perdita should absolutly be applauded for what she said, not attacked.

Yes I will encourage everyone post their opinions on all threads regardless other people may find what you have to say interesting at best. I've already gain a lot from the post that where made.

I wish there was a place where mean sat in the darkness, with tape over there mouths if necessary, so that could listen to women talk about their feelings and experiences.

Why not? You respond obliquely to people you ignore.

"...soft, girly, pleasing and selfless..."

I have never defined feminity that way...perhaps you do...

I have loved many intelligent, cultured, educated marvelous women...it's when they begin to attempt to grow a beard and insist always on being on top that I look for greener pastures...

Hmmm, I like it.

I guess it's hopeless.

Yes. If you can convince me that I'm Imperialist and that my support for the NHS means than I'm 'longing for the days when the sun never set on the British Empire' then I'll accept that you have a right to ask personal questions.

Otherwise I'll continue to regard you as a tosser who got absolutely hammered by me in a reasonable debate and was forced to resort to surrealist arguments.

Sometimes it's not a good think to interrupt people when they are talking.

Man, I think you guys need to work that crap out, and be careful not to hit the people who are standing around watching.
