Anyody know how to reload Windows after it's fallen off the face of your computer? I am totally clueless! HELP!!!

If you have CD with the operating system (whether an original or a copy) it SHOULD reinstall itself over a damaged system with no problem. At least, that's the way Win2000 works (but that's NT based, so I don't know for sure.

What's you li'l helper say?

I miss Northen cali, and oregon greatly actually. I am much more into trees, shrubs.. meadows... then the concrete jungle i live in. Granted, the beach is wonderful.. having it just down the street.. but.

That is not the best way to recover from a meltdown of windows.. the only reason you should do that, is to get whatever files you wanted to save.. like pics and docs. Then format the hd, and completely reinstall the os. just doing a refresh of the os is not going to solve the underlying issues with the computer....

Just my two cents.

lol... I used to support some products.... utilities.. antivirus... firewall software.. And I had to help these people recover so many times..

In my experience.. a lot of the for hire computer geeks would take the easy way out.. which isn't always the best.

I hated it when they would call back and complain.... lol

anyhoos.

(please please please, ask him to wipe the HD and start fresh with the OS... and those of you with System Restore...run! Turn it off... )
