It is possible that the Association did this song, too, but the version I remember was by an English group...I think it might have been Herman's Hermits or Gerry and the Pacemakers.

OM..not to my recollection..I can name or remember most, if not all, of that era and I don't recall thsoe groups doing it...but I do remember Skeeter singing it, that's what brought me to her attention, the voice is so soft and nice. (I was going to type like velvet...but that sends my mind to other things that are soft..and I am TRYING to be good )

We're all young in heart, right?

Of course we age well, or is that a rhetorical statement? Anyway, 1969 was a fantastic year – in which there were so many revelations in this century (is that being age specific once more?) and episodes in our lives. I love the exuberance of my persona and exterior youth, but I know life is not in the moment and passing time on a game of chess in Union Square or sipping a cappuccino, and watching people pas by.

It’s lovely out there beyond the box of plastic and chips. Although I carry no offense or cynical thoughts of crooked connections, online and off. It’s the everyday, I see the sparkle in a woman’s eyes, the subtle lines of her clavicle – leading towards the juncture between her breasts, and I want that image captured in my mind. She leaves me a note, lacking words, of a bubble gum wrapper at the table. I know it has very little meaning, save for the reason why it was not left for discard, but placed instrumentally in an obscure place. I long for the passages in my days where a simple line of code can be deciphered into a simple gesture of flirtation.
