No doubt... ;)

I usually enjoy my fine smokes while relazing in the jacuzzi with an adult beverage...

The wind has shifted so the somke from the day fire has left the valley but the weather prediction is for Santa Ana winds. Hopfully they will die down by the evening.

Wish I could get my fingers on some contraband cigars... **Envious** :D

sorry, i dont have any friends who look like me. i know plenty of redheads, but a great deal of them are either taken or jailbait. ugh... i fucking hate cops; i swear. my boyfriend and i were going home last night and we got kinda lost in westlake when i was going to show him my grandpas old place on the way home. it was 2 am, so no one was really around or anything. fucking cops pulled us over for no reason, and made us get out of the car and searched us and the car. they kept asking me how old i was, and if he was my boyfriend or my husband or whatever, and shit about my parents. they asked me if i was reported as a missing person. do i LOOK like a missing person?! geez people! id never been pulled over before... i was really scared and upset and didnt know wtf to do... but they didnt even give us a reason for pulling us over! wtf is that?! yeesh

G'morning Rose...

It's too bad that you had such a negative reaction to your first encounter with a law enforcement officer.

In our county most criminal activity take place very late at night. We have roving bands that burglarize autos... They cruiz around looking for just the right opportunity.

If you were driving around my neighborhood late at night "looking" for something and my neighbors and I had experienced a rash of criminal activity I could consider that "suspicious activity" that would justify calling the local police/Shreriff.

All bars/clubs that sell booze close at 2 am so driving around places you in that window when officers are looking for drivers under the influence of drugs/alcohol and a secondary concern after closing time...

Sexual assault...

You would be shocked at how many young ladies go out dancing and drinking, meet a nice guy and accept a ride home to end up raped and/or murdered with their bodies dumped in some out of the way spot.

Searching the vehicle serves two purposes since the officer is dealing with two persons whom he doesn't know.

First the officers safety as well as yours since the majority of officers shot in the line of duty occur after dark, plus most officer involved shootings happen after dark.

It is impossible to look at someone and determine if they are nervous because they have just been stopped by the "big red light" or because there is a crime in progress...

Criminals don't look any different than any other people...

Did you know that you can go on a patrol with an officer?

The Sheriff's office has a ride along program for us civilians so we can see what it is like to walk in their shoes and I hope you will give that a try.

You will suddenly be faced with what it is like to be the possible target with every encounter with the public from people who are just angry because they "hate cops" to the dangers of a traffic stop that actually results in a criminal apprehension.

You may actually meet a victum of a crime who wants to know "where the cops were" when their live was in danger...

Sorry for the long winded rant and I realize that you are young plus this was your first dealings with law enforcement but if you had been kidnapped at gun or knife point and that same officer had stopped the vehicle you were in I think you would have a different point of view today.

Peace... :rose:

well, considering it didnt look like a kidnapping, and we were fully cooperative, i highly doubt we seemed like the former or some sort of shooting spree. and i used to actually like cops, despite the normal teenagers automatic offense at any officer involvement, and the fact that i am a raver, i actually had no problem with cops up until this point. the ones from the town i used to live in (and, actually, the ones id met in los angeles) were more or less polite, good people, and did their job. these treated me like i was already a criminal/delinquent. they wouldnt believe i was legal, even with my id and asking me personally, because my boyfriend looks so much older than me and to some people i appear 16. they were rude and they didnt even give us probable cause, which is illegal. they didnt give my boyfriend a choice; they made us get out of the car and be searched while the other searched the car. its perfectly all right if they have probable cause, but theyd damned well better voice it. if i hadnt been so upset i would have gotten their badge numbers, but it really doesnt matter now.
