Uh you mean the trout. It is the rainbow trout, native to the western US and was brought to the eastern lakes for farming. This is the fish you usually get at the streams.

Oh after living out of home for 11 years, you have to learn to cook for yourself. Ok... I cheated a little, that fish reciepe was coming with the grill's cook book.

LOL!!!! erc confessed!!!

I thought you were a gourmet chef in disguise :D

hehehehe I wish..... I just watched food channel (it is a popular cable channel here in US) and pretended I am a gourmet chef.

I think I watched food channel a little bit last month. It's nice to watch someone else working hard to make food I'm not going to eat anyway

Are you just waking up or haven't been to bed yet?

lol remember I am a noctural species. Haven't slept yet, but going to. It is getting brighter now. Time to go to bed before the sun rises. Sometimes I feel like a vampire :).

Nervously protecting my neck area and backing away from erc

:D Sleep well, le gourmet BBQ griller ;)

wow erc.... those pics certainly got me hungry... I love the leftover shot and the cat shot too.... the left over shot is great cause of the bottle of wine together with the chopsticks... a zhong xi he bing type of thing.... so you must hail from Penang or thereabouts given that you are 45 minutes from the Thai border.... cool.... well I have to eat my fried spaghetti Chinese style cooked with love by my love  :D

he ping (I spelled it wrong  ) sort of means... fit together... or work together... sort of like the interlocking of puzzle pieces...

sorry about that... trust all is well with you in Singapore Lah!! :D

Hi everyone, seems like you all ate well yesterday :D

I had a pretty simple dinner of pork, mushroom and rice....

Edit!

Hey everyone...just doing my periodic check-in. I'm working (or supposed to be) right now, so I guess that I'm virtually in an Asian time zone of some sort...

xie xie ni for the translation :)

we're surviving here although there are a lot of cut backs, layoffs, pay slashes, etc.

still, we eat, breathe and love!

Those were cute pictures, AFM. I hope bugga sees them :)

Hi RH, stop being on Asian time, will ya? Cuz I've been on North American time. No wonder I don't see you on Lit anymore! you and erc are turning the world upside down with your weird hours.

:D

Nice pic ASM. But why the frowning? :) I have been living in Asian time zone for quite awhile now. Hehehe maybe preparing myself to go back there.

Glad you like the pics... too bad I was too busy eating my steak and sausages before taking any pics. I was too hungry. So after finishing the meat, I realized that I should take some pics to see how it goes. It was not too bad.

Hong, I always enjoy wine with asian cuisine. The fruity whites are especially great to pair with the chinese dishes. Sauvignon Blanc and Gewurtztraminer are my fav. Yes I was growing up in Penang... THE place to eat in Malaysia.

Oh I like to mix the eastern, western and indian ingredients together. I like to have oyster sauce on the steak, or having pasta with tew chew style steam bass, or curry mutton with okra and tofu. I can't take credit for those. Growing up in Malaysia, I am used to seeing different cuisine being mixed together. And in US, it is quite popular for the American restaurants to try to use some foreign ingredients too.

Interesting......I've been told that white wine goes better with chinese than red, what do you think? I hate the stuff anyway but it's just out of interest :)

all this talk of food once again! erc, those pictures of your grill, what a fantastic idea! hmm.. i may be inspired to take some of my own this week since i intend to do lots of bbq'ing.... although i'm very interested to know what fried spaghetti chinese style is... sounds tasty to me. i looooove noodles.... i have shanghainese blood in me so i like my vegetables soggy and noodles any way i can get em..

AFM: there is no way i could possibly have missed those and i'm glad i didn't! you are seriously yeet! (how do you say that in cantonese?!?!) thanks for the dedication :rose: you should think about starting your own thread : )

speaking of the food network, does anyone here watch Iron Chef? MORIMOTO-san!!! my favourite show and chef of all time... almost better than star trek.... lol. talk about a guy that makes me drool hahaha

Hi ASM, Yes, you are right, The whites are usually better match with Chinese food. Not just chinese food, but Thais, Japanese, Malay, Indians as well. The whites that I think that suit best is the Gewurtztraminer, with the tastes of honey and honeydew. The red is too strong to compete with the heavy flavor of chinese food.

Although there are some chinese dish that might go well with red, such as pig legs, sea cucumber (hai shen), or pot roast beef.

We can't wait to see your pics of your BBQ bugga. Fried spaghetti is just substituting the white noodles with spaghetti. The unique taste of semolina wheat actually works well with the soya sauces. I like to fried that with napa, mushroom, pork or beef marinated in soya sauce.
So you are shanghainese .... That explains why you seems to have a hold on men. hehehehe :)

Shanghai food! Love it.....only thing comparable to Hong Kong food ;)

Especially like the shanghai dumplings, and the egg with crab meat thingy, no idea what its called!

It's summer time in England! I'm going out everyday with sleeveless tops and basketball shirts, and getting all the summer songs out to blast from the car :D

Speaking of cars, saw the trailer for Too Fast Too Furious recently, and it looks amazing! I must admit to being a car fan....anyone else? It seems pretty common in the asian youth culture nowadays....for some reason we love the speed I guess :D

Boy did I pick a good time to drop by! AFM .... what a hottie! *fans self*

All this talk about food, mmmm!

Hey where's RomanHans? I believe it's his birthday!

Happy Birthday RomanHans!

Happy birthday Roman! May Buddha bestow you with many beautiful AV girls :D
