Do I really have to give an update?

Ok, I got 3 paragraphs all of about 500 words donw, just starting to intro the characters and the purpose.

When am I due up again. Middle of August? I can't find what page 12 pages and I get lost in here.

tis grand to be invisible

No pressure, but KM gave us all a hard act to follow.

Fine story, KM. Very impressive.

Yea, verily,

'tis a worthy addition to the Talisman Chronicles. Seek it out and read it, good citizens, as did I ere I composed this note.

Master Hayworth, an educational treat.
Your servant, sire.

Alex de Kok

whose own efforts will be placed before the readers in this place some two weeks hence.

To Master Alex De Kok gent,

Sire you have rendered this humble scribe speechless and wordless with the fullness of your praise.

May I express my thanks for your kind words - and I must add my two good lady editors played a large part in the writing of the chapter you have read.

Look forward to reading your chapter Alex and I have no doubt despite the early hic-cup the final chain-story will be one we will all be proud to have written.

It is on my "baby computer" Windows CE, and I have to get it off there, correct it (word for CE isn't all that useful when you are used to full word) and have some one edit it. Seems hopeless I know....

Just fyi: I have had some troubles the last months (since Oct- lost my job- long story- am unable to get another job, and I'm trying to see about disability... even longer story.... Not to mention lawsuit involvement for the fenphen drug!!!!... and just when you think you might see daylight....)

So, enough reasons for delays, etc. No more excuses and I will try and finish it this week. I appreciate everyone who has been so nice and supportive. This place, writing, and getting feedback has helped to sustain me when I get REALLY low...

Cross fingers, toes and eyes (don't type yet!)... thanks. Mlyn:rose:

Okay, Mlyn. I appreciated the update, but your chapter has officially entered the IT'S DUE NOW category. Today is the 29th. You were to have your story in the hands of our friendly editor, Laurel, yesterday.

How's it goin', girlfriend???

An update

My computers been having trouble conecting online, so I set up an apointment to have it checked over and cleaned, so I'll be computer less for awhile, but I'll keep working on my story. Hopefuly, I should have the story written and my computer back by this weekend, if I'm lucky. Of course, it could also be my computer finaly going extinct, being its as old as a dinosaur.

Looking for Mlyn. Anyone heard from or seen her? She has not sent her chapter to Laurel (due last Friday). I have emailed and PM'd her. No response.

The story is in the mail, and I apologize

I was only online a few minutes all weekend, and I wish I could say I was being productive.

Anyway, I submitted the story attn: Laurel this morning. It is called "Overwhelmed" and I wish I could have done a better job. I hope I don't drag the tenor of the whole story down.

Good luck to all! m.:rose:

Thanks Mlyn!

I just got your PM on this. Glad you're done. Glad it's in Laurel's capable hands. Best of luck with your chapter. Can't wait to read it.

Yeh!

Judo,

now that mlyn's chapter is posted, you move on to worrying about me. Don't. I just submitted mine, so relax for a week.

Alex

PS: Now it's time for ME to fret! :(

question

so there's no way for me to get points for the chain story thread, now?

Hmmm...good question. I think this chain is locked and loaded, at least that is what we've said thus far...

There are, however, chain stories that are written by authors who simply decide to write them. This one is similar to that in that the authors involved started this and we usually do this about the same time each year.

But it seems like you could still find four or five others (possibly other authors participating in the contest) to do the same as we have.

In fact, if you do, call me. I like these things.

En mille merci, ADK! And, why fret? I'm certain that it is wonderful as always.

I think I could find at least two. I'll keep you posted = )

Chicklet,

if you do get a chain started, let me know. Depending on the chosen subject (and I will take NO part in deciding), I might be game to join, too.

Alex

Thanks to all, but I'm still FRETTING.....

my first ebook with Ellora's Cave is due out any day.... and I'm chewing my fingernails about it!

So, to distract myself, I'm trying to finish hanging stories and edit others. We'll see what happens! take care my fellow chainists... new word? m.:rose:

Originally from Laurel I'm really enjoying this chain! Excellent writing and a great concept.

Thought I'd shared our fearless leader's comments with everyone. Yeh!

How many pages of Word does it take to make a page on Lit? I'm up to 4 Word pages and 2000 words and I'm perhaps a third of the way through. Should I start backing off on the characterization? (Please say no please say no please say no) I didn't want this to be longer than perhaps 3 or 4 Lit pages. Where am I at?

This was also a heads-up to the kindly people who graciously offered to edit my work. I originally (and very naively) predicted this would run 4000 words. I had no idea how to put numbers to my verbosity. If you want to back out due to time constraints or distaste with working with such a large story, I totally understand.

Finally, I am really enjoying reading the other authors' works. You guys are terrific! Keep it up!

Quint,

relax! My 'Talisman' piece came to 37 Word pages, and runs to 5 Lit web pages. I must admit, my usual size is around 20 Word pages, 2-3 Lit pages.

Alex

Yours is going to be short, then Quint. My came in at about 12,000 words, 3 Lit pages.

Johnny? You still there? Generalissima had to take a powder for a week and I've been collared to find out what's going on with you. You've got a Talisman story for us?
