You mean the "Caught someone" thread in the Story Feedback board? Yeah, I've been catching the last few rounds of that one too.

It's really fasincating. It's a big knock-down, drag-out catfight, and I have no idea of what they're fighting about, but it's like in the cartoons: you go over and open it up and it's like opening a door and having a shoe or a frying pan come flying out at you. I've never seen anything like it. I'm just glad I'm not involved.

Sorry Sweets, but I had to jump in when sarahhh attacked my poor gosling.
She is quite nuts and is hell bent on insisting that everyone here cheats on voting, lies about identities and name calls.
It snowballed from a question about trolling and turned into sarahhhs personal campaign to be a snot nosed kid. I keep looking for some redeeming qualities in her, but they are to hard to find.

Basically, don't mess with the gosling! She's a gentle harmless soul who wishes to share what she knows.

Abs, she messed with Liar and Lauren in the thread that was running here before she started in on that thread in the Story Feedback forum. It was all because she jumped on the bandwagon when Mismused had a personal gripe against YDD. I doubt very much Sarahhh even knows what that was all about. The wheels have since fallen off that bandwagon, but she insists on continuing to push it along.

What really gets me is that she claims everyone who has won a contest did so by cheating. Except the one she won, of course.

I sort of feel bad for her. She seems very bitter and I'm not totally sure why, but I could see her points initially. My only thought was that when she got upset, she ditched her main argument and gave me the impression that she might've trashed another poster's stories if she had the opportunity.

I didn't care for the way she tacked on a sniping dig at the Poetry Forum when she mentioned an author's death, but I can see the desperation from doing so. Not sure what can be done about it though, because most of the people I've seen posting there were first trying to be helpful. Not sure if she misunderstood or was just too full of rage to see it, but her responses haven't changed much at all since the first heated post.

I just wish it would die.

No apology, please! I posted, too, and for the same reasons!

Lots of anger and frustration misdirected because a snot-nosed kid (I like that - lol) was having a tantrum 'cause she didn't get her way.

Nope, we accept that shit happens and have faith that the voting will be rectified. Which, in my experience, it always is. Heck, I even have 2's and 3's removed from my stories!

I have a non-consent story which bounces back and forth from being in the top five of the top list of that category, to being down into page three or four of the top list. It's in the top five for a while, then somebody obviously notices and hits it with a 1, then that gets rectified when the 1 is removed and it's back. But, not for long. This has been going on for weeks and weeks, but have I made a big deal of it? No. I just quietly accept it happens and know it will get rectified (although I have now had a public whinge ).

I repeat, this is a private and FREE site, and the policies and proceedures are set by those who run it (and a thankless task that must seem a lot of the time). We are not coerced into submitting our stories here and, let's face it, what do scores matter anyway? It's the feedback that matters to most of us with big/fragile egos.

It's okay. I wasn't sure how long she'd been here, but I have to confess to getting a bit bowled over by the trolls in the beginning too. I've since learned that Laurel and Manu do a tremendous job of keeping things fair. My Earth Day story contest submission got the shit trolled out of it, so that was definitely an eye opener. And people in contests are crafty about their trolling. At any rate, I think anyone who has won a contest has won it fairly and after reading most of the top three's from a few contests, I don't disagree with their status as winners.

I do, however, think that people on the top lists (sometimes) are there out of some geek freak computer antics and that used to bother me as well. But I have learned over time that stories that do have merit will rise through the ranks, but it just takes time. I guess I just remember having the same tumultuous feelings, although I didn't let them get me into such a snit. Anyway, I think the point was made several times that everything that happens here (Lit) is free to be praised and free to be trashed. Free posting and free reading. Free, Free, Free!

I still just wish it would die. Many people have tried reasoning with her and she's just too angry to listen.

Lou, I didn't take it as anything directed at me. We're on the same page and it has been getting more and more frustrating with time. Bound to bubble over at some point.

She sure loves to mention, in every post, that she is censored in the poetry forum, which if I read correctly, Lauren told her she was not, if this is a ploy for pity......it ain't working. She also needs to understand what a moderator is and that they have duties. Bad mouthing Laurel and Manu is never a smart thing either.
As you've stated Lou, scores don't mean crap to most, it is the feedback as well as the sense of accomplishment from writing something that makes people feel good.

Hopefully some day, Snot nose will grow up!
