Clear Cause & Effect Of Chaos: Trump’s Tariffs & Trade Turmoil.

Trump will have said a lot but done little when all is said and done. Actually, what he will do via his inactions is put a nail in America's coffin and open it up to hostile actions across the globe.
Your soap box call its dead on. Trump has put nails in the coffin. Enough, so that the US has now lost the "leader of the free world" title. The US has also lost or is losing most of it's allies. Both the economic and military ones. Myself, I do feel sorry for the average American. Hell I have direct family members who are American and live in the US.

That said, this damage will go far beyond just Trump. It will go beyond the next election cycle ( assuming there even is one). The trust is broken, there will be a new world order, headed possibly by China. I've had enough of the US bullshit. The treaties between Canada and the US aren't worth being used as toilet paper. Trump has proven that, and the Democrats don't seem to much better.

Trump has destroyed the worth of paper documents. China may not be a Democracy, but if there is trust, a relationship can be built. I'd rather be in bed with an enemy I know, than an Allie I can't trust.

Oh hell! Once more onto the soap box!

Under previous administrations, the U.S. has maintained global leadership through economic cooperation, trade agreements, and strategic alliances. Biden did well, contrary to some delusional individuals in the political forum with this role as president. Trump, not so.

Trump’s erratic trade policies undermine that leadership, replacing it with unpredictability and economic uncertainty. Allies who once looked to the U.S. for stability now see a nation prioritizing isolation over engagement. Trump may claim that his policies put “America First,” but ultimately leave America isolated.

Instead of strengthening the economy, Trump’s tariff-heavy approach represents a reckless gamble—one that American consumers and businesses will bear through higher prices, job losses, and a diminished global standing. It’s time to see these tariffs for what they indeed are: not a tactic for economic strength but a self-inflicted wound that jeopardizes the nation’s future.

How long before we have a 60 Minutes episode of Trump's floundering attempts to tilt at windmills? Would it influence anyone, any of his MAGA movement? Some are now shaking their heads. It's about damned time!

In that vein, Michael Corleone from Godfather said, “My father taught me many things here. He taught me in this room. He taught me: keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.” :giggle: :rose:

and it has come to pass
Not to mention the F-35's. Which country would now buy an airframe that the builder can control the mission capability?

"But some analysts are calling for that purchase to be cancelled. They point out that as the U.S. becomes increasingly hostile to Canada,"

This will be cancelled. Canadians are demanding it, and it will be an election issue.

Next it will be the Liberals, then finally dragging his feet will be the PCs.

Maga voters take notice of two things, the first is the increase in cost of living which will eventually overwhelm Trump and the fellow mobsters.

The second is the threat that MAGA's favourite Canadian educational website, Pornhub might be cut off.

Nothing else, except possibly nuclear war, will disturb what passes for the MAGA mind.

Copper Market in Turmoil as Trump Touts 50% Tariff on US Imports

President Donald Trump sowed fresh chaos in metals markets by indicating the US would implement a higher-than-expected 50% tariff on copper imports, spurring a record spike in New York futures and a drop in the global benchmark.

Dementia Donnie’s diseased brain is fixated on tariffs, tariffs, tariffs.
