If you're connecting diseases to Columbus I might suggest syphilis, since member(s) of his first expedition brought it back to the Old World a few decades before the New World experienced smallpox.
The first European syphilis outbreak happened in 1494. The first smallpox outbreak in the New World was around 1518.

And Columbus Day only existed in the first place as a peace offering to Italian Americans after an incident in New Orleans where a number of them were persecuted. It was never really about honoring the man who (ostensibly) discovered America.

There are only two documented cases of Intentional spread of the disease by blankets or tobacco. One of those has NO proof but the word of mouth still spreads the trope. In no large part to people like you.
A modicum of research would enlighten you to the fact that just by the mere presence of Europeans in the new world, Indians would have been exposed to germs they had no defense against. Two cases of intentional free blanket hand outs didn’t devastate the whole continent. I’m sure that particular tribe was though.
The point is, this wasn’t a planned genocide. You can surely make the argument that the European descendants were indifferent to the Indians plight.
