Comments that leave you shaking your head

I'm very bad at math, so I'm probably not the right person to write it 😅
Ada had no formal training in math (and made a few mistakes because of it), so any math mistakes would be excusable. I'm more than happy to proof it for technical content if you want to write such a story. She was clearly brilliant, but had such a sad life overall.

“No, surely that can’t be right. Are you certain this is the right number? Maybe you got the units wrong; 12 centimeters sounds way more plausible.”

I know I started this ramble into maths, but does anyone else use a spreadsheet to check things like characters' ages when a second part is five years later, or he fought in WWII, but she is just 18 and on the pill? I sometimes carefully look on Google maps to check locations and road names, but wonder if anybody would call me out for saying there is a cafe there that has never been?

Do you mean "shaking your head" as in being fed up or shocked, or "shaking your head" as in you are enjoying a self-inflicted moment of happiness?

I've always taken it as a sign of disbelief about the comment. Like a comment on a Group Sex story saying, "I don't believe a woman would have sex with four men at once." Or an Incest story saying, "Siblings wouldn't end up in bed together."

This is quite possibly the most convoluted, incoherent plot I have ever read.
I'm very disappointed this commenter didn't follow such great opening with the rest of their remarks delivered in that Billy Madison monologue style.

Agree. Basically shaking head in disbelief someone could actually say/ask that.

In addition to your examples, just something really stupid, like that they don't have elevators in Germany, or that underpants are only ever outerwear etc.

Is writing lavatory humour as bad as creating and producing scat videos?

According to one commenter on my Loving Wives story 'Witness Protection Trophy Wives', yes it is.

The story in question is narrated by a male detective and he and his colleague are protecting a Russian woman called Maria, who is in witness protection after reporting her dangerous husband's organized crime activities. A demanding and difficult young woman although stunningly attractive, Maria in one scene uses the toilet creating a great deal of gross-out noises as she does so as well as leaving a smell so bad the others think there is a plumbing problem, and the detectives fed up with her bad attitude make lots of jokes about this such as 'It sounds like Maria has diarrhoea' and 'No wonder she was in such a shitty mood earlier' as well as discussing what types of food such as curry and cabbage to avoid feeding her in the future. The jokes are immature and corny to be honest, but how they are as bad as scat videos I'm at a loss to say.

I can't say I've received bad or weird comments so far, although I was a bit surprised by the many PMs I received after posting 2 MILF stories. Any authors experiencing this as well? Or is this typical to the MILF genre?

Probably having a female-ish username has something to do with it.

Oow ok, well I am a woman so.....

Damn, and here I thought it was just male readers being starved for decent MILF stories or something. There goes my ego. lol
The comments on my stories are all straightforward, saying they enjoyed it or not, because I'm a guy. I have a friend who writes on here who at least presents as female, and it seems like every third comment is about how big the commenter's dick is. Her stories are awesome, but sometimes ignored in favor of... Flirting? I guess?

Interesting. The comments on my stories are straightforward as well. It's the PM's that are a lot of 'unsolicited information' and some hilarious questions. I know it's to be expected on a board like this, but as a writer I'd prefer comments on my stories obviously. Guess I'll be using that 'leave conversation' button a lot. lol

It probably also has something to do with the genre and audience your write for. While I have a female name for my username, I've gotten the rare occasional creeper in a DM coming from the story side, but that's really it. It's not common for me at all.

Edit to clarify: by audience I mean if it's mostly men, or mostly women. I wasn't making value judgments based on kink or anything.

Are they coming from the story side or forum side? When I was new here I got a lot of creepy messages from the forum side any time I logged in (I hadn't posted any stories). I turned off the setting which shows when I'm online on the forums and they pretty much stopped. Just mentioning in case that helps you.

Ow thank you! They are indeed all coming from the forum side. Going to turn that thing off then. Thanks a lot!

People would like you to think the creepy all comes from the personals/fetish/playground forums but never think for a second that they don't come from right here.

Anonymous comments by registered users have always left me shaking my head. I have never left an anonymous comment, especially when they tell me how I should arrange my words to make them happy
