Comments That Make Your Day

Mind Control with restraint (as opposed to restraints) is like chastity without the belt.
Yup, I will admit, I gave the guy a conscience, which was clearly not what that reader desired. Of course, it's a series, the comment is on Pt 1, and he becomes more comfortable over time, but we won't get into that :)

my goal at the start was to respond to anyone who commented. It's a conversation I want to have with people. It's an opening I want to make. But I have people looking out for me, too, to make sure I don't overdo it. So any responses I make will be done within my ability to do so, which is extremely important for something this personal.

I left myself so fucking vulnerable with this, and I know it, lol. (this is one of those, "Oh, no, I've shared too much and made people uncomfortable, a laugh will cut the mood so add one here!" lols...)

Your words were especially kind, and I appreciated them immensely. Including these ones.

I'm doing this with a support system in place, I don't think I could otherwise. But I am being very careful with it and know I have to be.
It's only a conversation if people want to converse with you. And after years of responding and very low response rates, it's a waste of time. Not many people come back to look and see if you (or anyone) responded to them. Just saying. Then you'll get emails from other "Anons," obviously authors, accusing you of trying to push up your comment count.
I limit it to deleting the shit and responding to really nice comments without expecting any return.

Oh I meant in the standard reactions. I did send a photo of me facepalming to my husband so he can look at it whenever he makes a goofy pun and Im not around.
How thoughtful. It'd probably go well with my wife's pic of her rolling her eyes and snide comments 'bout MANSPLAINING!

There were a few comments that stayed with me in the four months I've been on Literotica. Capturing them here has inspired me to go and thank those that weren't anonymous.

Bk. 01/2, Ch. 13-14/14 SPIRIT - on a Novella that they appear to have read completely.
“What Sons of Anarchy could have been. Excellent writing, engaging characters, and I fell in love with Spirit, too. Don’t tell Snake, Duke or Hammer!”

And on the first two chapters of SPIRIT

Terrific story going on here, I think. I like that you are expanding on the original Spirit story with this new information. I will be anxiously awaiting to see what else you have up your sleeve for this story. Good Job!!!!
And again on another Novella Shuttered Truth Novel/Novella CH 04 Fionn

Holy cow! I really need lots more of this story. Things are getting very intriguing, and I can't wait for the next installments!! :)

Three Times the Pleasure - about one woman being in a polyamorous relationship with three brothers

I used to have a relationship like this with my buddy and his fiance/wife. No jealousy but a lot of really hot times in the bedroom. Still sad about cancer taking her.

I do get a fair few 'nice', 'cute' and 'sweet' comments which I have to take as being good.

I didn't mean in the comments. I meant sending a contact form to them or replying to their emails.

Some emails I've already responded to. And some comments where I have outside contact with the commenters have already been acknowledged to a small degree.

My response would be opening the option of a conversation, not demanding one.

I've had a lot of interactions with readers by doing contact form replies and/or responding to the contact they make with me.

Anonymous comments and emails I obviously won't be able to reply to, but I wish I could.

But anyone who has commented with a name, will get a contact form response from me or will be contacted privately through another avenue, such as Discord.

"It's been a long time since I read something with such a delightfully expansive vision of power and sex. You turn the adage on its head: in this story everything in the world is about power, except power. Power is about sex. You've crafted a psychological landscape where every word, every relationship, every scene is saturated with kink. For that reason, despite my usual indifference to lezdom, I found Syla's sex scenes incredibly titillating. Bravo.

Ultimately, erotica is writing, and you publish your words, not your ideas. On the word-and-sentence level; in how you deftly weave together different perspectives, each animated by a distinct and compelling inner voice; and in your refreshing ingenuity of expression and imaginative ambition, you are consistently brilliant.

I am so exited to see where this goes."

Thank you to theboxman for this amazing comment! Really made my day.

As someone who also writes for my day job, this is by far the best comment anyone has ever given me on any piece of writing lol. (I write non-fiction/research and for those who don't know, that basically means you just get constantly slammed with negative feedback)

Your friends are wise. I've written some very personal advocacy pieces and gotten similar feedback, and it can be overwhelming to feel like you have to respond to them all. Don't push yourself, these people have not commented hoping to hear back from you, they commented out of something genuine, and that doesn't always require a Thank You note in return. You've already given them something very special: a piece of yourself. It's okay to let that be enough.

I am very happy with the feedback on Pretty When You Cry

The anons are amusing.

@AStrangeDesire and @dirk2024 thank you both for the lovely comments on it.

I think it may be my favorite story I've written so far and it's stupidly short.
Just a follow up:
I don't think it's stupidly short. I think was the right length for what you wanted to tell, and the length was appropriate for the subject matter.

Which wasn't 'normal' for the BDSM category IMO, and the fact that it was so well received is awesome--and well deserved.

🍻

I have a knack for doing "not normal" in categories, lol. And thank you. I'm quite happy with it and am glad others enjoyed it as well!

That last bit. It matters a lot when readers say that. The story is for LitCon 2026 which has a bunch of interwoven stories (and correspondingly low reader numbers from what I can judge). So when a reader turns that interweaveness around for the positive, it's a Good Thing.

“Absolutely brilliant! Having had dogs for most of my life, this was great. Genuine laugh out loud moments.”

@TheExperimentalist left this comment on Too Cold Not to Fuck the other day:
Decided to finally try to read works from people I've been interacting with on the forum instead of whatever I come across otherwise, and this series seemed to be my cup of tea. I enjoyed this. I also wanted to comment on one particular passage that struck me:

-----

True enough. My cock seemed to think it was a good idea too, pressing forward almost of its own accord. Still, it didn't seem right.

"It doesn't seem right," I protested.

-----

I assume the repetition here was a deliberate choice, but either way, the humor in it was spot-on and I laughed out loud.
It was deliberate, and I love that it worked the way it was intended. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks. I'd hoped you'd appreciate a comment consciously noticing the kinds of details a writer puts into a work that most people tend to just gloss past. (I know I'd love for people to pick up on the specific writing choices I make, so I'm trying to be what I want to see in the world.)

There's some scene from some movie or tv show or play or some visual media I've seen that that little snippet reminds me of, something where some kind of narrator says something and then a character repeats it in a different and much more evocative tone, but I can't remember what source I'm thinking of, what the line was, or even what the circumstances were. I think it might actually even be a minor trope, and there's no one thing specifically that I'm thinking of, now that I think about it (not that it makes it any less hilarious when done really well, like yours was).

I still need to read the rest of that series. Kinda been sidetracked for my 'alone time' past couple days, at first working more on a pretty heavy trauma-focused WIP, then took a break to write that ridiculous stepladder story I'd posted about in anthro's plot bunny thread.

Nice comment this morning on Buckshot Ranch
Buckshot Ranch
“WOW! A damned fine story! Oil and water will never mix. They can coexist and coexist in a beautiful way.
Perhaps a buckshot ranch 2.0???”

Gotta be happy with this comment:

Someone has commented on your story
Taylor Goes on a Date
“This is some of the very best writing I've encountered here on Literotica, and everything about it is exactly what truly delicious erotica should be. The pacing was just right, the descriptions tantalizing, and the sensual detail was exactly what it takes to bring the reader into the moment with you. Outstanding!”
It's an anon comment, and why I will never turn Anon comments off.

How could this not???
Thank you @Vincent73 on Picking Strawberries. Anybody have Spielberg's number? ;);)

---

You write an amazing number of really good stories. This one stood out to me even among those.

I keep thinking some of your stories would make a lovely movie. (No, I don't mean a porn video.) This one comes to mind; there are a couple of others too. And the previous comment reminds me that "Pulitzer" would be, too.

Sorry, he's busy making my anthro goat porn with heart into a movie. But I'll let him know what his next project ought to be.
